No Prince Required

I had smelled this in Target a few times and always liked it when I did. Since it's been on sale I decided to finally get it. When I got home and sprayed it on me it smelled different than how it did in the store, but I still found it pleasant enough. It was just a little bit more floral and sharp rather than marshmallow-y and soft like the tester smelled. I feel like I'm definitely getting some unlisted lemon and tea like others have said. Unfortunately this scent doesn't sit well on me... it's like it smells really good but there's also a hint of something that kinda smells like piss 😭 Maybe it would oxidize a little over time and smell more marshmallow-y like the tester but I think I'm probably just going to return it. Maybe some kinds of jasmine just aren't for me. Definitely give this a try if you're at Target though! I feel like on people it works for it would smell sooo good. Edit: Jk maybe it doesn't smell that bad on me... Idk I've never been so conflicted on a fragrance Edit 2: It must have just been mixing weird with my lotion that day. This is phenomenal and I've worn it every day since. It smells like a beautiful marshmallow-y earl gray tea. It does fade but I get whiffs of it throughout the day which is so nice. Very cozy and will be perfect for colder weather. Edit 3: Still really enjoying this overall but sometimes it smells a bit bready, almost like a biscuit, and I don't love that component of it. I also smelled the OG Princess recently and I was surprised to find that I don't really like it, I much prefer this one! I have also since learned that night blooming jasmine is completely different from regular jasmine.

I've never smelled Kilian's I Don't Need a Prince... so I can't compare it to No Prince Required (just ordered a sample), but I definitely enjoy No Prince Required. To my nose, it's much less floral -- I get virtually NO jasmine -- than it is creamy, marshmallow-y, and mildly gourmand. A piquant ginger note is present only at the very opening, but just for a few minutes. The almost milky creaminess of this stuff really stands out for me. However, it's much less creamy than Blanche Bete (and dupe Taskeen Lactea Divina); I find that one simultaneously delicious -- I love milk! -- and totally unwearable; maybe it's just too gourmand for me. Although they share no actual notes, the level of creaminess in No Prince Required is on par with French Avenue Glorious Oud Royal Blanc (GORB is all bergamot/citrus/magnolia); but they really do share a similarly creamy quality. Overall, No Prince Required is a very gentle scent that lightly wafts a warm, amber-y, marshmallow-y-but-not-overly- sweet sweetness for 4-5 hours, so it's not super long-lasting, but that's OK by me; not everything need be a powerhouse. I definitely recommend it to folks who enjoy the lighter side of gourmand.

I'm getting more and more into dupes lately after finding some good ones. This is Princess with the black sphere cap, only missing a bit of the complexity leant by the quality of essential oils used in the Kilian iteration (and at least a few hundred dollars less). In the end it is the blending and drydown we're sensing, so in this case why the heck not? It's the same beautiful sweet orange blossom + lemony green tea; with a soft, powdery vanilla resting on a warm, sweet amber base. I'm not sure why it says jasmine, as it smells more like sweet orange blossom, but that's ok. It's the same beautiful, cozy-sweet amber gourmand scent profile as its muse, at a fraction of the coinage -- and I'm so here for it. What an incredible dupe! 🤍

I love this. It's one of my favorite fragrances. It's a beautiful soft, but sweet, creamy floral fragrance. Although it's not an exact dupe or as complex as Princess it's lovely none the less. This is a soft, cozy blend that smells like a creamy London fog or jasmine tea topped with marshmallows. Sweet but not heavy, with fluffy soft florals wrapped in warm amber. Comforting, smooth, and effortlessly addictive. It has a surprisingly nice scent bubble and decent longevity. I enjoy this year round. It also layers beautifully with other fragrances. 9/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 7/10

I've never smelled Princess so I can't compare them but I really love this. Slight floral opening that quickly dries down to a soft marshmallow with a slight Play-Dough note. It sounds odd I know but it's so nice. I got a small dabber bottle in a giftset but would love a full size. It's a perfect bedtime scent for me because it's just soft and cozy. I really wish it was stronger (but again) it's low sillage is perfect for quiet moments at home.
