No Prince Required

I had smelled this in Target a few times and always liked it when I did. Since it's been on sale I decided to finally get it. When I got home and sprayed it on me it smelled different than how it did in the store, but I still found it pleasant enough. It was just a little bit more floral and sharp rather than marshmallow-y and soft like the tester smelled. I feel like I'm definitely getting some unlisted lemon and tea like others have said. Unfortunately this scent doesn't sit well on me... it's like it smells really good but there's also a hint of something that kinda smells like piss 😭 Maybe it would oxidize a little over time and smell more marshmallow-y like the tester but I think I'm probably just going to return it. Maybe some kinds of jasmine just aren't for me. Definitely give this a try if you're at Target though! I feel like on people it works for it would smell sooo good. Edit: Jk maybe it doesn't smell that bad on me... Idk I've never been so conflicted on a fragrance Edit 2: It must have just been mixing weird with my lotion that day. This is phenomenal and I've worn it every day since. It smells like a beautiful marshmallow-y earl gray tea. It does fade but I get whiffs of it throughout the day which is so nice. Very cozy and will be perfect for colder weather. Edit 3: Still really enjoying this overall but sometimes it smells a bit bready, almost like a biscuit, and I don't love that component of it. I also smelled the OG Princess recently and I was surprised to find that I don't really like it, I much prefer this one! I have also since learned that night blooming jasmine is completely different from regular jasmine.

I've never smelled Kilian's I Don't Need a Prince... so I can't compare it to No Prince Required (just ordered a sample), but I definitely enjoy No Prince Required. To my nose, it's much less floral -- I get virtually NO jasmine -- than it is creamy, marshmallow-y, and mildly gourmand. A piquant ginger note is present only at the very opening, but just for a few minutes. The almost milky creaminess of this stuff really stands out for me. However, it's much less creamy than Blanche Bete (and dupe Taskeen Lactea Divina); I find that one simultaneously delicious -- I love milk! -- and totally unwearable; maybe it's just too gourmand for me. Although they share no actual notes, the level of creaminess in No Prince Required is on par with French Avenue Glorious Oud Royal Blanc (GORB is all bergamot/citrus/magnolia); but they really do share a similarly creamy quality. Overall, No Prince Required is a very gentle scent that lightly wafts a warm, amber-y, marshmallow-y-but-not-overly- sweet sweetness for 4-5 hours, so it's not super long-lasting, but that's OK by me; not everything need be a powerhouse. I definitely recommend it to folks who enjoy the lighter side of gourmand.

I'm getting more and more into dupes lately after finding some good ones. This is Princess with the black sphere cap, only missing a bit of the complexity leant by the quality of essential oils used in the Kilian iteration (and at least a few hundred dollars less). In the end it is the blending and drydown we're sensing, so in this case why the heck not? It's the same beautiful sweet orange blossom + lemony green tea; with a soft, powdery vanilla resting on a warm, sweet amber base. I'm not sure why it says jasmine, as it smells more like sweet orange blossom, but that's ok. It's the same beautiful, cozy-sweet amber gourmand scent profile as its muse, at a fraction of the coinage -- and I'm so here for it. What an incredible dupe! 🤍

I love this. It's one of my favorite fragrances. It's a beautiful soft, but sweet, creamy floral fragrance. Although it's not an exact dupe or as complex as Princess it's lovely none the less. This is a soft, cozy blend that smells like a creamy London fog or jasmine tea topped with marshmallows. Sweet but not heavy, with fluffy soft florals wrapped in warm amber. Comforting, smooth, and effortlessly addictive. It has a surprisingly nice scent bubble and decent longevity. I enjoy this year round. It also layers beautifully with other fragrances. 9/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 7/10

I've never smelled Princess so I can't compare them but I really love this. Slight floral opening that quickly dries down to a soft marshmallow with a slight Play-Dough note. It sounds odd I know but it's so nice. I got a small dabber bottle in a giftset but would love a full size. It's a perfect bedtime scent for me because it's just soft and cozy. I really wish it was stronger (but again) it's low sillage is perfect for quiet moments at home.

i’ve loved this for a while but hadn’t compared it to the original till recently...it’s literally identical. i can’t say anything about longevity and projection but scent profile itself is absolutely perfect. same critiques some people have about killian princess (not enough matcha, too powdery) but i personally love the composition and don’t really have any complaints !! (i have the body spray btw)

i got this because supposedly princess got reformulated and isnt as sweet as it used to be. god this is so nice its the most perfect light fluffy powdery marshmallow without being overly sweet so you can wear this wherever you want. if you have what the fluff by aspiring aromas i highly recommend layering this over that! i cant stop sniffing my arm... i need to stock up 🤍

I really love this for the value—it’s very close to the most recent formulation of Princess, just slightly different dry-down and the price tag is a lot better. This version doesn’t have as clear of the matcha/tea note running through the center and the ginger is a tad more subdued. This version def reads a little more lactonic than the original as well.

Smells very similar to Princess, but is a bit more floral marshmallow, sweeter (without being juvenile or cloying, it's comfortingly sensual), and not as "balanced" since it lacks the matcha/tea note. So incredibly addicting and perfect, absolutely cannot wait to wear this more in the Fall and Winter. Obsessed with it, it's so fucking goooooooooooood.

Absolutely obsessed with this scent. I'll be going back to target soon to buy 2 more back up bottles. If you want to smell like fluffy marshmallows and warm sexy skin then this is for you. I've never smelled "i dont need a prince. .." and dont care to. I love this! And surprisingly I get a good 5 to 6 hours of wear and longer on clothes.

I’ve never smelt the original, but as a blind buy, this perfume is delicious. It’s surprisingly gourmand and smells of vanilla and marshmallows with hints of florals. I love to pair this with my VS Angel Cake body spray. As far as its longevity, it stays on the skin and clothes. People around me can smell it, as well! It smells amazing.

There is definitely green tea in here that isn’t listed in the notes. But this is one of my favorite fragrances from finery. It’s powdery but dry, just in the way that keeps it from becoming cloying and overly sweet. at the same time, you get the marshmallow but there’s a sort of earthiness you get from the tea. I love it!

God I love this! I have never smelled the OG fragrance, but this is so nice! It's quite simple yes. But it is sweet, refreshing in away, and ever so feminine! Not too young in my opinion, but it does give me a more youthful vibe. It is in my humble opinion, a very uplifting fragrance. 😁

Marshmallow amber skin scent!! Drydown is exactly the same as Princess. Lacks the complexity and dry matcha opening, but I dont really mind. Sexy, sweet, addictive marshmallow of my dreams. Easy everyday reach- great quality for this price point. 4-5 hours easily!

I found the body spray and the perfumes longevity similar. I layer both. If I had to pick one, Id go with the body spray. Its not complex, but gets the idea accross. If you want a daily driver like the Kilian, this is the guilt free way to go.

If a marshmallow scent and a skin scent had a baby, this would be it. Warm, sweet, ambery melty goodness. A hint of powder in the top note from the jasmine. Immediately bought a backup bottle, it’s that good.

truly the ultimate dupe. smells exactly the same on my skin. the marshmellow and amber are heavenly. lasts way longer than princess by kilian, which was my only issue with the original. love it!

Exactly the same as Princess, but has a sweeter opening which I prefer. This is the only "dupe" that I prefer the dupe and not the original.

Out of all of the finery perfumes I smelt in store today this one was delicious and SO similar to the original, it made me so happy. I’ve been thinking of getting Kilian princess ever since I smelt it but thought to wait for the winter months to come as maybe a treat to myself. However I know the baccarat dupe from finery is great as my friend uses it and it smells like a mix of that and cloud by Ariana grande (way better than the plastic smelling dossier version that’s so hyped). So I heard about this and thought why not try it? And wow the DNA is 85% similar at least. The problem with Kilian fragrances is how flat they are (it’s sort of a theme with their perfumes but the projection is always good) and this perfume encompassed that so well including the projection. Thank you finery for saving me at least $400. To describe the scent from finery, it’s like toasting marshmallow to put on graham crackers while sitting outside next to a jasmine bush but instead of being photorealistic it is synthetic smelling (as are most Kilian perfumes). It also has some citrus added in there that Kilian has too. The main difference between this and Kilian is that in Kilian you can smell the matcha, ginger and sort of tea element it has in addition to this, but is it really worth the $400 difference? Probably with layering this with something else one could get the same sort of vibe. I probably won’t wear this until the cooler months as well as I find one note smelling perfumes to kind of bother me but this is fabulous. Another thing to note is that this scent is super unisex, it leans both like a men’s/womens cologne.

I got this for my mom for Mother’s Day and I’m thinking now I need a bottle... so yummy! I have the miss independent -Julianna’s perfume dupe as well and compared each other. So the real kilian princess is a beautiful mix of that fresh green tea matcha ginger and marshmallow but doesn’t last.. finery is the sweetness element of it, powdery light jasmine opening marshmallow base and warm amber dry down. The miss independent one carries more of a green tea like the OG but doesn’t have as much sweetness and is much more gingery, and lemony. Finery No prince required is not as complex but is so lovable and addictive. Layering no prince required and miss independent is the real deal! and longevity and price wins. I love kilians og but I can’t justify paying that much if it only lasts a few hours on me. If you want to smell like a soft fluffy marshmallow buy this!!

I've heard this is a dupe for a Kilian fragrance. I've personally never smelled it but I will assume it's a much more projecting fragrance. This is soft, creamy and sweet. I love the light bursts of jasmine in the opening and how it develops into a cozy narshmallow scent. This is perfect for when you seek comfort, to cuddle up under a warm blanket in the colder weather. The jasmine makes this wearable for the spring. Quite honestly, getting this for $30 is just a steal.

I've yet to smell the original by Kilian, but No Prince Required is a very pleasant, soft, simple and sweet floral marshmallow fragrance. I feel like Dua's dupe (Princeless Princess) is more complex than Fine'rys, but this is hard to beat for the price and overall quality. :)

This does resemble Princess but it's not as complex. It's missing the matcha and ginger note which is what makes Princess unique. What you do get alot of is the marshmellow note especially in the dry down. It's a pretty scent it just doesn't last long enough for me.

I like this! I found the EDP to be a bit headache-inducing on me, so I returned it and actually vastly prefer the body mist. It still has great lasting power and I smell it on myself all day. I haven’t smelled Kilian, but this smells nice and complex.

Almost an exact dupe of Killian Princess, dare I say it smells better than Princess because it leans sweeter and the marshmallow is more prominent which is what I prefer.

Drydown smells exactly like the taste of a jet puff marshmallow. I've spent 5 years trying to smell like a human marshmallow and it turns out I actually don't want to smell like this at all. Existential crisis. Terrible household cleaner/vodka opening that quickly burns off to jet puff marshmallow . The Kilian is much stronger on the green tea with less marshmallow. Won’t lie killian smells more expensive. But I’m very partial to killian.

Pretty much smells like a marshmallow. With a hint of floral, supposedly jasmine, but I can barely smell it. It's not my thing, but if you like marshmallow, or the Killian frag it's inspired from, you'll probably like this.

I was likely beautifully gullible at a friends house and that is what compelled me to blind buy this... I love most of what has come out of Killian's perfume house. Which intrigued me on purchasing this even further especially out of a broke college students budget. What smelled of intense jasmines and sweet creamy white chocolate on my friend, was unfortunately a synthetic 99¢ store marshmallow on me. Not to mention, the humid climate I live in— it gives this a headiness that’s fighting for attention without any nuance. I’m trying to muscle through it to see if I enjoy it more. but for now it sits quite solemnly. No prince or princess required now then.

Smells like cinnamon gummy bears to me for some reason. I don't like it.

I've never smelled Princess, but I'm so happy to find that this has become a lovely replacement for my all time favorite perfume that was ruined in reformulation by Pacifica. I'm getting Fluffy marshmallows, vanilla milkshake, and fresh baked cookies! I'm not a fragrance expert by any means, but this perfume smells almost exactly like the original formulation of Pacifica's Island Vanilla perfume. Over the years, Island Vanilla became watered down until the company completely changed it for the worst. The original scent is one that I loved because I it was fluffy, sweet, and playful, but welcoming and soft, and it followed me for hours like a cloud. I stayed on clothes for DAYS. I recieved compliments on it almost every time that I wore it! No Prince Required is doing that. It's giving those same sweet, playful, girly qualities with a touch of added depth and maturity. It smells lovely at first spray and drys down into the lovely fragrance I remember wearing all through my early adulthood. I LOVE IT, and will continue to purchase. I've tried all of the Fine'ry fragrances, and NPR is my favorite one. It doesn't last the longest, but I get a good 5-6 hours until it becomes a lovely skin scent. It's beautiful for just $25!

Yall pissed me off making me go to target to buy this and layer it with Kilian Princess 😩. They are not the same lmao. If by same you are noticing a powdery marshmallow dry down sure. But notes wise, breakdown to get to that powdery finish is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. I wouldn’t even call this a dupe at all. There isn’t tea in refinery and no spice. If it is and it’s not listed they used minuscule amounts. Now with all my griping out the way, this is a beautiful perfume for its price. To be quite honest, look at the notes for irfe marshmallow musk. This may more align to that than Kilian princess. It’s leaning more that way to my nose than it is princess. Princess leans more towards remember me by jovoy with is a milky airy cardamom tea. Not a full dense chai but like a tea that was made with a seed of cardamom unbothered. This refinery though is beautiful. I also got the body mist to go along and that I can say was a waste. Just go straight for the EDP. It truly is worth having a bottle and this may open me up to adding more refinery to my overall collection of niche, designer and indie brand parfums.

just got this one and i love it :) i'm not super familiar with princess, but from a few sniff tests at sephora i think they do smell similar. what i'm surprised i haven't seen.... is the comparison to snowflakes and cashmere by bath & body works. i think they smell almost identical. or at least layerable. i adore finery. they came out with candles.... now i'm waiting for them to release lotions :)

It's lacking some complexity like Killian's however I still really enjoy it! As someone else mentioned it doesn't have matcha listed down nor the lemon note, but you do get a trace of a tea note??? I feel like the lack of citrus makes it soooo sweet and I'm all for it. My boyfriend said if he could tie my regular scent to a perfume, it would be this lol Honestly save your dollars and get this one.

I think this a pretty good dupe for Kilian's Princess! Obviously, you do get the quality you pay for, but that merely only shows up in how blended the notes are together. It's more smushed together/all in one rather than a natural progression of the notes. I get matcha and marshmallow, mainly. Longevity and sillage are pretty good!

This takes me back to high school and I don’t know why. Maybe it smells like the OG warm and cozy from Pink? I’m obsessed. i saw a review on tiktok and looked it up, im usually not a fan of perfumes with marshmallow or jasmine. Tried it in target on a whim, I was pleasantly surprised!

I prefer this to the original scent, it's "imitating". Princess was too green/tea-like for me. This is lovely, especially with the marshmallow and the overall sweet vibe. I get SO many compliments with this one, and I like to layer this with other fluffy scents. A great alternative.

this is my shayla. i find such comfort in this scent. i know there’s no green tea like princess but i feel like i get a hit of it on first spray. dries down to a beautiful ambery marshmallow with jasmine. i wear this to bed often, and i smell it on myself in the morning :)

Tbh I like this a whole lot more than the original killian princess. I sampled the original and it smelt very strongly of green tea and I didn’t get much of the marshmallow. This perfume however smells identical to lucky charms marshmallows and I’m obsessed.

Obviously dupes will never smell the same as the original and I knew that going into it, but this is just gross. Some scents are not made to be replicated or duped. Princess is absolutely not a scent that can be duped.

This one is good, but it’s missing the freshness that the OG has. I would spray this on my lower body and Princess on my upper body for a great combo. It is very good and well worth the buy🥰

This is a basic blend of vanilla marshmallow and musk. Very simple scent. Something you'd spritz when you don't really have time to think about what you should wear.

I hugged my dad and he said I smell like dog biscuits. Like artificial vanilla dog biscuits. But EVERY other person I hugged said I smelled good. So who tf knows
