Not Another Blue

Absolutely love the scent. It’s an addictive, versatile blue freshie, however it does not last even as a skin scent beyond 3-4 hours. At $30 for 60ml it’s not a bad deal, but if you truly enjoy wearing it as an every day, you will be reapplying at a rate that makes this feel like a 30ml in bottle longevity.

But it is. This is absolutely just another blue. It's nice, but it occupies the exact middle of the blue fragrance window. If I had to say one it's closest to, I might say Dylan Blue, but it dips it's toes into Light Blue, BdC and Sauvage. Primarily a note of "freshness" the concept distilled, a little oriental, a little watery a tiny bit sweet, just pleasantly BLUE. Performance is fine, more like an edt than the edp concentration performance you'd expect, with moderate projection and longevity (it's a skin scent by hour 5 or 6 on me). It's inoffensive and even if you overspray, you're fine to wear this anywhere anytime. It's a beginner scent and it's priced as such. The thing I like about Fine'ry is that it gives an easy entry point for exploring any major fragrance style. Any teenager with $40 in a Target can pick up a bottle and get a whiff of the world of designer fragrances that they would otherwise have to search out. There are cheaper options with more precise scents and better performance, but they aren't all laid out in neat little matching bottles in the toiletries section at my local big box store to invite people in. These let the unititated in without overwhelming them with dozens of notes and hundred dollar price tags. These are really great for what they are, and that's training wheels. There's also a great case to be made that they're nice as safety scents. Went on a work trip and forgot to throw a bottle in your carry on? There's bound to be a Target around and you can grab something that'll do in a pinch. Also worth checking out, but let's face it, if you're reading this you probably can just try them yourself at the store: Smoke and Leather, and In the Oud which are clearly takes on Tom Ford fragrances, the ones you'd expect. This one, though: 7-7.5/10 nothing special about it, but it gets the job done.

Not Another Blue caught my eye, and nose, due to its entry level price point and scratch-and-sniff packaging. Smelling equal amounts fresh and spicy, this is a great scent for wear on cooler days and even better when it's cloudy. Top notes of dry vetiver and amberwood produce a moderate sillage, and though it lacks in complexity, its value far exceeded my expectations at its price. The most impressive characteristic is its longevity, as I work outdoors and I've had no other fragrance as noticable by the end of an 8 hour day as Not Another Blue. I've worn a few different winter scents, from Dolce and Gabbana's The One for men, to Coach for men Black, and honestly I've gotten more compliments in the short span I've worn this fragrance than any other. You'll notice that wearing it on your clothes will aid in longevity, however applying it to your skin will allow it to enhance your natural scent as well. This is a must buy if you're working on a limited budget, but want a scent that stands out and will attract attention.

Has a quick Bleu de Chanel opening with the remainder being a Dior Sauvage blue fragrance. Very mass pleasing and nice smelling fragrance. Performance is ok....especially for the price point. I tested it a few times and got 4-6 hours on average.....mostly 5. Projection was good for the first 90 minutes before it started to sit closer to the skin. Arm's length projection for the first 1 hour. Nice little scent bubble around you as well. The quality of the smell is on par with a lower price designer. I would recommend this fragrance for the average person but for someone who collects or is really into fragrances.....I guarantee you already have this DNA with another one that lasts longer with better performance! 💯

I'm surprised by the comparisons as this to me smells much closer to D&G Light Blue than BdC or Sauvage. It's close enough in smell, and decent performance, that it should have the same rating you'd give to Light Blue. Have to overspray a bit but once you do, longevity and sillage are both above average for a freshie.

The top 3 voted similar fragrances I feel are pretty accurate, it has that blueness attribute from BDC, the masculine edge from Sauvage, and the freshness from light blue. Longevity is decent at about 7 hours. This fragrance isn't very interesting but it doesn’t need to be, it’s just another blue. 7/10

This is Montblanc Explorer for the first 15 minutes. It dries down to Versace Dylan Blue after about 45 minutes. It’s also insanely cheap. Worth a blind buy for fun. The $10 travel atomizer lives in my backpack.

Mix of BDC and Dior Sauvage to my nose. Decent scent, not quite as high quality as the designers. Blue shower gel without most of the pepper from Sauvage. Lasts about three hours

NAB is a surprisingly good "blue" scent, similar to BDC by Chanel; less expensive, just not that good. It also reminds me of Versace's Dylan Blue minus the incense note.

This is sadly, 100%, without a doubt, just another blue. It's like if Sauvage and Adidas body spray had a baby. It's pretty good for the price.

I think the name is supposed to be ironic, guys! It's not "*Not* another blue"; it's more like - "Not *ANOTHER* blue! 😮💨🙄" Anyway, I see the BDC comparisons and I agree, but it's a little rougher and less crisply cool than Chanel's DNA. But what it really smells like is an amalgamation of BDC, Sauvage and Dylan Blue. Maybe an echo of Light Blue or Nautica Voyage too. So...yes, quite *blue*. None of the resinous tones here smell natural, but they're softened while still remaining decidedly masculine. To be honest, I don't mind any of those fragrances on a guy, and I like them well enough on my husband or in the air. Without the quippy name, would anyone honestly be negatively predisposed toward this? I doubt it. But is it impressive or unfamiliar? Not really. It is however, a great bargain fragrance.

Of all the Fine'ry scents I smelled, this is the most corporate, least inspired. I have little to say about it other than: Yet Another Blue*
