Black Sand

Another simple and expected scent from this house. A little too cloying and sweet for my taste. I have yet to find a vanilla-y perfume that I like. I got a bit sick smelling this about 15 minutes into putting it on, but when it started to dry down, I was fine. I actually got more of the musk on the opening of the perfume, and was left with just vanilla at the end. I would actually be more likely to use this in candle form in the fall.

This is perfect for wearing a sweatshirt and shorts at a bonfire on the beach. Warm and has vanilla notes but it isn't sweet, it's more of a musky woody spicy vanilla. Soft and wonderful, makes me want a room spray like this.

I tried these fragrances at a gift shop in Portland recently. Black sand was underwhelming compared to White sand. White sand was much more full bodied. I am a fan of vanilla sandalwood scents I would have expected to like it more but it kind of fell flat for me. It's not a bad scent at all, just not one that I would buy.

Obsessed and have been for years. I layer the body lotion which is rich and long lasting with the fragrance oil. I wish they did a perfume edp as well but maybe someday. Perfect mysterious sandalwood vanilla with a powdery woods.
