This is the first sample from the sample kit that I have finished. The combination of the prominent notes of rose and patchouli is a tried-and-true pairing. It has been done many times, so you can't really go wrong with it. If I were to compare it to another fragrance I've smelled before, I would compare it to Frederic Malle's Portrait of a Lady: she's a little mysterious, dark and in touch with her spiritual side. She's jammy, not delicate. She's got a kick to her attitude. I'd even go as far as to say that if the price point of Portrait of a Lady is one that intimidates you, you could go with this instead if you wanted a similar vibe. I like rose perfumes, but I don't think that this is my thing. Maybe if I were witchier, it would be. You can like a fragrance, but not have it fully resonate with you because it doesn't align with the personal image that you're trying to curate for yourself.

This is strong patchouli and rose with distilled raspberry throughout, belonging to a mature and self-assured wearer. If this perfume was a colour, it'd be dark burgundy pink

This was both a literal and metaphorical struggle. Firstly, the sample didn't spray! I had to crack it open and mash it into my skin -- not the ideal 'first impression', but nonetheless, the rose-patch combo, I'm sorry, has been done to death. I don't think anyone else needs to make one UNLESS it's different and/or WEIRD. Not only did this remind me of a heap of rose-patch scents I've already tried, this reminded me of about 3 or 4 MFK scents (both the brand and the perfumer) -- you need to come with something NO ONE has ever experienced. Don't get me wrong, if this was, I dunno, 15 years ago and this was the FIRST version I'd ever tried, fine, but this is not the case. It's deep, dense, royal, rosey and dark -- both rose and patch pair well together, here, but the truth remains -- I've experienced this many times already. It didn't revolutionise the pairing, didn't re-write, it just, well, re-did it. It wasn't bad at all, just nothing new.
