Au Pink Flamingo

Oh wow! This smells like The Mambo Kings. The movie. When I first sprayed this on, when the perfume was still wet on my skin, I detected a weird nauseating note (I actually thought I hated this scent) - but as soon as the perfume dried down the unpleasant smell went away and the scent bloomed into a sizzling hot, dark, intoxicating concoction. There's a strong tobacco and sigar smell, a sweaty, sexual cumin note and a dark ambery woodiness that feels intimate and alluring. This has to be how Armande Assante and Antonio Banderas' characters, the brothers Cesar and Nestor, smells like in the movie The Mambo Kings. Thick sigar smoke. Warm, sweaty, sensual masculinity. Small, dimly lit Cuban salsa clubs with dark, wooden walls, filled with sensual people dancing something that can only be described as a form of dirty dancing. After a few hours on the skin the scent mellows into a semi sweet vanillic cedar smell. Some of the intimate sweatiness still lingers, but it's toned way down. The scent feels sensual in a cozy, relaxed way - like you've found a sofa in a quiet corner of the club, just lounging while observing the other dancers still doing their sensual, provocative thing on the floor. This scent took me completely by surprise. I expected something pink and cute and powdery. Something fluffy and candy like. I'm so glad this scent is everything but those things. Au Pink Flamingo actually feels like the masculine counterpart to the very sensual and sexual femininity of Papillon Salome. I think I love this. And I think I need a bottle for my collection. It's an awesome creation! Very atmospheric and deliciously provocative. Sillage is a solid medium on me. Longevity is good, it lasts over 7 hours on my skin.

My first encounter with Au Pink Flamingo created an initial feeling of surprise and confusion. I was not sure whether it was a "Yakki!" or a "wow!” After trying it on a couple of times, I think my first bewilderment comes from a slight overdose of cumin in the initial top note. However, it settles rather quickly and my bewilderment is replaced by curiosity over the progression. The heart of Au Pink Flamingo is a wonderful scent of old wood and tobacco interwoven with light strokes of rose. In this phase Au Pink flamingo could easily qualify as a favorite scent.(for some reason I imagine that this heart phase scent would make a great success a in high quality beard oil). The dry down is very skin close and ambery. Traces of the birch tar remains for a fairly long time but finally there is only a pale and soft presence of amber-frankincense All in all an interesting scent and very worthy of trying as a sample.

vintage makeup after an energetic show in which the dancers have sweated, moved their legs in impossible ways and their spines have twisted infinitely. Animalic, buttery, dry tobacco, it is not an easy perfume but it is an absolutely fascinating perfume. I will gladly wear it on days when I take the time to do good makeup.

I just KNEW I was gonna love these. After trying all 3 in this line, this one is my least favorite. It smells like stinky arm pits, so it’s a good thing they all have zero lasting power. NOT a blind buy.

Very distinctive and very ugly.

Inspired by a cabaret atmosphere - but in my mind a different story gets played out. This opens with a blast of waxy lipstick and sawdust, which soon becomes an incredibley thick, raunchy spiced sweat mingled with vintage face powder, some tobacco & smoke. Prehaps I'm just a big ol' perv - but for me these notes combine to tell a story of lust! A story of tit grabbing, neck biting, getting f*cked against the stable wall. This is an erotic novel captured in a bottle, let's call it 'Lady Vivien & the stable boy' . Sebastian, a tall, powerfully built shaggy haired man, with skin baring the golden glaze of the sun. He's spent the morning mucking out the stables, his once white vest now soaked in sweat & filth, clinging to his warm muscular body. He stops for a smoke & notices the glamorous Lady V coming his way, he's always admired her from a far and thought that she could have easily just walked off of the silver screen. She enters the stable, walks around to inspect his work and can't help but be intoxicated by his pungent manly aroma filling the air; She breathes him in deeply . Their eyes meet, she steps closer, thanking him for working so hard & tirelessly - as she reaches out and runs her hand down his chest, slowly pulling away her immaculately manicured red fingernail as she reaches his belt buckle. He draws in closer, towering over Vivien & pulls her in closer, their lips meet in a slow tender kiss. His mouth starts to wander, kissing her neck, he can smell her makeup and the faint aroma of her rose scented lotion. His hungry mouth becoming eager, gnawing at her flesh, his stubble feels like sandpaper against her delicate pale skin. His large hands pawing at her breasts squeezing a little too hard, she feels herself flooding with heat & excitement. She can feel his cock, as hard as stone & throbbing against her, she could hardly withstand the desire one more moment, she loosens his belt to unleash him... ...That story plays out each time I've tried it, which leaves me with mixed feelings. I think it's utterly amazing & I really enjoy the sweaty cumin in this and that's not a note I'm a fan of - at best I usually only tolerate it, I've certainly never found it sexy, but in this - mixed with whatever magic, it's pure unfiltered raunch! but I also don't think I want to smell like vintage makeup or like a sexy sweaty man, but there's something about this that is just so incredibly alluring & addictive. It's definitely worth having a sniff.
