Cricket Song

For me, Cricket Song is the beautiful scent of laundry drying in the breeze, cotton linens being gently warmed on a sunny Spring day. Soft, powdery, with a bit of citrus and the tiniest hint of woodiness poking through. This isn't headache-inducing in the slightest, which is wonderful for me as these kinds of perfumes often are! It's extremely effortless and chic, yet extremely cosy also. I'm just not sure how often I'd wear it (as I'm much more into fruity/citrus-forward scents) so a FB purchase is yet to be decided... if I see it at a good enough price I'd bull the trigger without hesitation, I'm just not sure it's worth it at full RRP when it's probably something you could get from Clean Reserve... **EDIT: well it's been 2 years and I've explored soooooo many magnolia (and proclaimed 'soapy') scents since this review and none of them cut it. This is the one. A bottle is indeed in order! I'm still babying the last few dregs of my original sample lol

I'm testing most of this house, and having pre scanned the rating and reviews to get a general vibe, I was honestly not expecting much. How nice it was to be completely wrong! Ok, so the opening is nothing to write home about (although there is nothing bad there), but when it dries down a bit, on me it is just gorgeous! Not sexy, not a heavy weight, but comfortable, and t leaves the most beautiful scent trail! It is so good, in fact, that my young adult daughter chased after me to ask what it was. She and I do share perfume, and this one became our first Floraiku FB buy. We both absolutely love it!

This is not unpleasant at all. It's very floral, and a bit fresh, and to me smells like a very expensive soap or shampoo. I might investigate getting a travel spray of this, but I think there are much less expensive, yet high quality, floral perfumes out there if you're looking for a big bottle. Longevity is not stellar and sillage is average.

Fresh white flowers with smokey undertones almost incensy to my nose.Almost all if not all floraiku is subtle, simplistic, that's why people think it's not worth their high price. But most of the time less is more,most of the time I want something serene ,I enjoyed it,it smells nice,not offensive to others..then why not.

Starts off soapy and clean, mellows to citrus and lingers musky by nighttime. It does remind me of fabric softener, but a really elegant one. Wouldn't pay full price for this, but its nice to have in my samples drawer. It seems like this line is really meant to be layered.

I absolutely love this perfume. It smells so fresh, I want to spray it straight out of the shower and on fresh laundry (but it’s way expensive for that). Decided to register here simply to say that it smells divine

I have had Cricket Song for about eight years. Possibly nine years. It was one of the first fragrances I purchased when I started to get into NICHE for real. And it was a blind buy! I will admit, I fell in love with the bottle design. And I still am! They are so beautiful and I still don't know how they managed to do it. And there are some fragrances in this collection that are outstanding. I don't think this is one of them. Not because it does not smell good. It does, especially if you enjoy fresh floral compositions. Also, if you like magnolia this is the fragrance for you! It is very heavy on the magnolia flower. In fact there are only three notes in totality. Magnolia, bergamot and vetiver. Can't get much more magnolia than that! That makes for an easy wear. It also makes for a rather unexciting experience. Back when I started, I didn't even realize that was a thing. Complexity wasn't even on my mind. But it is now. After about 10 years in the industry, I know much more about what I like versus when I did a decade ago. I want to mention this now before I forget. Magnolia from Santa Maria Novella is the best Magnolia fragrance on the market right now. I have no problem saying that. It has the same structure as this one, but so much more. Within its complexity, the execution of the fragrance still manages to create a fresh floral experience that has a beautiful scent of citrus. Elegant simplicity through a complex design. It's gorgeous just like the bottle. If I had to choose, it's obvious which one I would end up picking. I'm sorry to say. Cricket is great for people who are new to the world of niche. You don't need a PhD to decipher. You just need to have good taste. It's not the best, but it's also not the worst. I do think it is overpriced for what it is. But I realized from the very beginning I was paying for the bottle more than I was paying for the fragrance itself. That was done out of naïvety more than anything else. I do recommend you sample! You might enjoy it. My mother does more than I do, but my mother has always enjoyed fresh floral fragrances. For those of you out there who also enjoy them, it has gotten the certificate of approval! So give it a shot. However, if you are more like me and enjoy aromatic and herbal, green and or sweet, experimental, you might want to just move on.

Smells like OG Poison! 😱 I've smelled Pure Poison, Tendre Poison, Hypnotic Poison, and NOTHING compares to the original formula of Poison like Floraiku's Cricket Song! Took me back to when I was about 11-12 years old ('91-'92). I went through about 2-3 mini dabber bottles (they were the cutest lil things) before I convinced my parents to buy me a full bottle. To me, Cricket Song is nowhere near delicate or subtle. I'd consider the top notes to be adamant and in your face, at least nowadays—just not for me. The "ok" smiley to the right of this review is only because I don't like fragrances like this anymore, but OG Poison was a TOTAL love when I was a tween! EDIT: 05/28/23- Nice woody dry-down! I will use up the rest of my sample vial.

I purchased their discovery set, and I'm delighted with it because I can experience 11 different perfumes from their collection. Among them, I particularly enjoy the cricket song scent, as it presents a pure floral aroma that I love. It evokes a nostalgic feeling, as if people from the Marilyn Monroe era might have used this fragrance. It exudes a certain old-time charm and sensuality. Admittedly, it's a bit pricey, but the package comes with a beautiful bottle that feels like a work of art, from the box to the bottle itself and even the traveling pouch

It's a very very nice fragrance; smelling it takes me to a nice bed of flowers. Personally, I like it a lot. It's very expensive but quality is apparent, except its longevity and projection isn't all that powerful. I think a little sub par in this regard for its class. It's perfectly unisex. I think most of the criticism would be more around its value proposition as opposed to outright disliking the scent. It is very pleasant and not offensive to rack up dislikes IMO.

at first i got this fresh spicy citrusy scent that i really enjoyed and as i wore it, it turned sweeter and more floral but i can still smell the citrus in it. it's a good scent, i didn't hate it but i wasn't crazy about it either. i think this could work as someone's daily scent because it's so fresh and unoffensive. but for me, it's too overpriced for how it smells. it's good but not groundbreaking. i got it as a tester and i won't be purchasing the full size.

I mostly get magnolia, creamy slightly feminine but very pretty and works well on a base of vetiver but I don’t think anything about this is deserving of the cost. It’s definitely nice but I’m sure there are plenty of magnolia fragrances that smell just like this for a fraction of this plus it’s pretty weak overall.

Creamy sweet magnolia. Not super complex - it's missing the nuance that make Floraiku worth the price tag (or at least not be completely laughable). It reminds me of a magnolia fragrance I wore in high school. It's lovely and make me smile and reminisce, but there isn't anything than makes this stand out to me.

Generally I am not a fan of magnolia, but this is pretty in a non perfume-y kind of way. Agree that it does take on a soap effect after a while. I feel this out one of their whole line is probably closest to the Japanese aesthetic that is supposed to be the brand inspiration

If you like magnolia, you need to try it. Very floral, Bright and crispy for the first 3 hours, then it starts to fade. Sunny and it just cannot not be liked. I would not pay 320€ for 50 + 10 ml...but if I find it cheap, I would definitely grab a bottle.

This fragrance kinda smells like baby powder but for adults? Best way I can describe it. It's "lovely" and inoffensive. Doesn't seem to last long on my skin however, so I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth the price tag.

Really lovely subtle scent. Nothing ground breaking but easily wearable. Can't justify it for the price, however.

I encountered that line in Dubai and I fell in love for the packaging. I got a sample but I believe this is a line for asian clientele, generally inspired by more subtle scents. all the perfumes in the line are delicious but too delicate and faint... not for my needs fo projection and sillage... Price tag extremely high, in the range of the most expensive niche perfumes.... 2/5
