Flowers Turn Purple

This one is just beautiful, the kind of fragrance that puts a smile in my face. On first blast, Flowers Turn Purple gives of a creamy candy lemon, complimented by lavender and basil , The amber wood accord and vanilla follow soon after, providing the fragrance with a robust multifaceted foundation, resinous sweetness, creaminess and a slight woody quality. Overall a beautiful concoction, that can be summarized in a few words as olfactory key lime pie, with a twist.

Looking at the notes on their website, lavender and citrus aren't my favorites, so I wasn't thrilled to try this one... but it's simply wonderful ! Dominant Notes: Lavender, Basil, Lemon, Bergamot, Coriander Secondary Notes: Sage, Ginger, Sandalwood, Amber Subtle Notes: Hazelnut, Nutmeg, Musk Nonexistent Notes: Jasmine, Tonka It opens with a burst of mauve and nervous green aromas, evoking British nobility (my husband imagines a morning in Sicily). For me, it's an English garden. For him, it's Mediterranean. A spicy and lively opening of Lavender and Basil, bright and cool. Behind this pairing lies another interesting, rather discreet duo of lemony Bergamot and Coriander. Clary sage and Ginger further accentuate its vegetal, even minty, aspect. It's spicy, elegantly and moderately. As it develops later, I can (with difficulty) find the scent of nutmeg and hazelnut, but it's an alpine lavender that leads the entire fragrance. It fades after a long time with a warmer, amber, and woody finish. Jasmine and Tonka bean are absolutely nonexistent. It's very "old money" contemporary, because it's a tartan upholstered drape, in the style of Salt Burn...

There's a very faint floral scent, but mostly it smells....dirty. Like detritus or mothballs or something. Looking at all the notes I usually like scents like this, so I wonder if it's just not well balanced cause I really wanted to like it and it's a definite no for me.

If you like the smell of very strong laundry detergent then this one is for you. There are no flowers in this one at all, not lavender, nothing. Just the smell of chemical filled laundry detergent. Horrible.

I’m a bit confused about this one. I have a sample of this fragrance and I love it. It’s mostly lavender and amber on me, seems to linger quite some time too. I bought the travel sized bottle last week and it seems like it’s a different fragrance? I can really smell the basil and the woody base on that one, but the lavender and amber disappear quite quickly. Never had this happen to me before. Definitely prefer the sample as I’ve just sprayed both on to compare.
