Flying South

Flying South by Floraïku is a really pleasant, easy-to-wear fragrance that revolves around a beautiful blend of juicy fruity notes and soft, clean musk. The opening is bright and fresh with a subtle sweetness, before settling into a smooth musky dry down that feels elegant and effortlessly refined. It's the kind of scent that's hard not to like and perfect for everyday wear. Unfortunately, like many Floraïku fragrances, the performance lets it down. Longevity is below average and the sillage stays fairly moderate throughout, leaving you wishing it had a bit more presence. If it lasted longer, this would easily score even higher. As it stands, it's still a lovely fragrance and one I'd happily wear. 8/10.

Tropical flowers, melon (not watermelon or calone!), vanilla and coconut milk... these are what I picked up without looking at the notes at all. I love this house, and I'll put this beautiful scent in a cocooning, soft, comforting category. A super soft scent... Even though the opening is a bit lively, the end is soft and musky, finishing sweet and woody. Looking at the notes, it was surprising not to see vanilla because I was expecting it. Even though it's not listed, I'm sure there's a vanilla feel somewhere in the heart of this thing. It's a touch too sweet for my taste, but overall it didn't bother me. I'd even say it pleased me. It reminded me of a song: The sun was rising on the road... Heading south! Note: I found this slightly similar to Erba Pura, especially towards the end. It's almost like you blended Alto Astral and Erba Pura together... but this one is superior to both. Tag(s): vanillic soft, coconut, milky, woody, musky, tropic

"Flying South" feels less like a perfume and more like a fleeting summer suspended in sunset ! It opens with that rare note of glowing Makuwa Melon (not the syrupy fruit we fear but a delicate, sunlit pulp, slightly sparkling and juicy rather than sweet). A fresh, non cloying fruitiness followed by creamy Coconut Water. Inspired by Okinawa 🇯🇵 and the migration of grey geese from the north to the south of Japan, with its emblematic Hibiscus, cool, breezy and translucent. A vivid yet weightless flower, exotic almost tropical, evoking a summer cocktail by the sea, in heat haze at the end of the day... But it doesn't personally remind me of Okinawa and instead of the French Riviera when we devour refreshing melon every evening in the south of France 🇫🇷 ! Unusual without being too eccentric, it's a poetic watercolor painting... for men and women. Strong projection and longevity.

I was super excited cuz I love the notes and I love the brand but, I kinda feel like I smell like a hobby lobby. Dusty, stale, and cleaning supplies citrusy. Don’t get me wrong I like it but, I would never spend the 300 sum for it. If someone got it for me I would be greatful but tell them to return it and get their money back. But, if someone had an extra sample they didn’t want, I’d take it.

The opening got me all excited. Juicy melon and hibiscus. The melon, however, lasted as long as a fart outside. Afterwards less than an hour all the projecting power was gone, and the scent had transformed into something that I can only describe as a very weak version of confidential private gold(or something like that name) by lataffa, the one that is a dupe for Kirke. I have no clue as to how everyone had such a different experience with this fragrance, but I will try it again to see if I’m the crazy one.

flying south is the first thing i've tried from floraïku. i have to admit that i'm a little disappointed. also after all the hype it's gotten. the longevity is beastmode though. sprayed a spray on my wrist over 15 hours ago and can still smell it clearly. if you like really sweet scents then this will be perfect for you. i think it's a little too synthetic and sweet for me to wear as a daily driver. but otherwise a nice scent.

Flying South is the perfect example of why you should always test a fragrance on skin. I loved it on a blotter and was genuinely obsessed at first. But when I finally wore it, the scent transformed into something that reminded me of the inside of a cheap shoe store. If you've ever been in stores like Paolo Botticelli or Tendenz, you'll know exactly the association I'm talking about. Amazing on paper, awful on my skin.

Very forgettable. Opens with juicy fruits but ultimately dries down to a barely perceptible musky smell. Maybe I’m anosmic to this

I absolutely hate it. It made me feel nauseous, and scrubbing it off my skin didn’t help. The next morning, I could still smell that nauseating scent.

This is super fresh cantaloupe, tangy citrus and sweet florals perfectly mixed! This is what I hoped for Erba pura to be. Flying south is much more wearable and not so in-your-face. It settles into what reminds me of a fruity maraschino cherry. Would say it’s unisex, but somewhat feminine because of the sweetness.
