I Am Coming Home

I have been working through the Floraiku sample set after unintentionally buying it late one night (seriously. "shop pay" + an accidental click = "thank you for your order". Whatever. It was on my list of houses to try). I've smelled them all on paper and this is easily one of my favorites of the 11 fragrances in the set. This is not really a suprise, as I love "warm spicy" scents and I am a big fan of ginger in basically any context. I would guess that the sample atomizers contain a little less than the advertised 1.5ml, but it's still a great value at $35 for around 16.5ml (11 x 1.5ml) of fragrace, particularly when you consider their 10ml travel sprays are sold for $76. I mention the amount in the vial because I had to add more sprays when I wasn't smelling it as well as I would have liked to after just a short time. I am tempted to unload the rest of the vial on myself less than two hours after my second round of sprays, but I like it a lot so I'd like to get another wearing out of it (perhaps on a hot day). This seems to be my experience with Floraiku so far: that I need to spray generously to be able to smell them on myself consistently, but I think it can be hard to accurately gauge certain things when you're using a tiny sample atomizer. The ginger, which is zippy and true to my nose, seems to be lingering on my shirt, but the note has largely faded from my skin. It's a pretty minimalistic ginger tea scent and even though it is spicy/spiced, it is stimultaneously refreshing and I imagine it would be would be nice to wear in warm or even hot weather. Though I really love the way it smells, I could not justify paying that much for these components and this performance. However, it would absolutely be a different story if I were in another tax bracket because it really is lovely. Edit: This does actually last quite a long time, it just stays very close to the skin.

I love this perfume. I'd lusted after it for a while but after getting a fantastic deal on ebay I'm now the proud owner of 2 floraiku fragrances. I am Coming Home exists in this light tea skin scent lane. I'd say in my collection it's most comparable to Etheral Wave but EW has more cardamom and wood. IaCH is straight ginger iced tea. It's a really good, zingy, bright, fresh ginger. Reminds me of Molecule 1 + ginger in that these are the only 2 scents I've tried that have been able to realistically capture that freshly grated ginger smell instead of the spicier dried ginger smell. Initially I thought that the performance was atrocious, and this is certainly a skin scent not a powerhouse fragrance, but after several days of wear testing it definitely has some lasting power. I catch whifs of it on my chest and clothes even on the next day. My partner can also smell it very clearly on me at the end of the day. For me, this is my new favorite tea fragrance. Dear Polly was too smoky, Ethereal Wave is a close 2nd, but the freshness of IaCH is reminiscent for me of drinking some refreshing ginger or citrus iced tea on a summer day. If you can find a good deal or get a refill bottle and you know you like fragrances along these lines, I recommend giving it a try. I wanted to hate it because the ridiculous price point but I love it and it ultimately gave me what I had been looking for from other scents.

Absolutely stunning fragrance, from a house that I thought had reached perfection with it's fantastic release The Moon and I, here comes another ridiculously calming tea scent, more on the fresher, lighter, and cleaner side. In the opening I get a massive blast of bergamot oil, with the characteristic zingy fresh pale-yellow ever so slightly green hue of fresh citrus. Slowly the ginger swells into the picture, but just the right amount of it, adding a cool spicy freshness, but without any astringency or harshness. As the citrus fades the ginger keeps on emanating freshness while slowly a very gentle tea note emerges mixing with gentle watery and slightly lotion-like backbone to give the illusion of placidity and cleanliness. If there is one fragrance I feel compelled to bathe in it is this one, one of the few scents that have made me stop and really admire its naturalistic elegance, it feels meditative almost, deeply calming. To me it feels genderless, but i do see how the absence of typical masculine facets with the prominent soft lotion-like quality may make it lean slightly feminine for some. Performance is average, but at the end of the day who cares?

Love this one! Reminds me love long gone- Bvlgari The Rouge...I'm a tea addict, so no wonder :). Starts off with a ginger tea with a bit of citric, likely orange freshness. Herbs join in soon with a delicate amount of cardamom (cardamom in the reminds me slightly Voyage d'Hermes, but its lighter and warmer, not so crisp and cool as Voyage) and a bit of soapy. I see it very unisex, kind of genderless scent. Very clean and calm, more suitable for warm weather. Even though there is nothing too exciting in the composition, it smells really natural and a bit aromatic like all Floraikus without overdoing citrus. One of my Top 3 Floraikus (have smelled them all) after Moon and I and In The Dark (not in database here). If price and longevity would be better, I'd get a FB without thinking as it would get lots of everyday use.

It opens with a quick, bright lift that reads almost like a citrusy photonic mist, even though no citrus is listed. From what I understand, this effect comes from the ginger–cardamom–white tea triad, which together create a clean, sparkling impression — a kind of perfumy citrusy, spicy Sprite. The ginger is the most articulate part of the opening: cool, slightly sharp, and briefly luminous before it softens. The mid is a gentle tea accord with a soft aromatic edge. It stays clean and non‐humid, with no sweetness, no fruit stickiness, and no cosmetic powder. The cardamom plus ginger give a bit of a kick. Overall, the structure is still intentionally sheer, with no density or weight. In the drydown, the tea becomes more abstract and perfumy. The overall impression is a soft, sparkling tea veil — pleasant and elegant.

I am trying out a sample as we speak. Woah, what a masterpiece. As I have written in many reviews, I am a tea lover and I really enjoy tea notes. To me, this fragrance is simple but very elegant. It stands out from other fragrances with tea notes due to the cardamom and the ginger. It has a calming traditional tea scent, but I find it navigates towards a green tea rather than white tea. The reviewer "estherkiim" mentioning it reminds them of ginger beer is spot on - I agree. I Am Coming Home: Imagine walking into a very elegant thermal spa in Japan with bonsai trees everywhere leading your way to an onsen with warm aromatic water rocking you to complete peace and serenity. Oh how I wish I could be sponsored by Floraïku...

This is a linear scent, full of body. The cardamon is non existent, gladly. The ginger is present, but instead of making the fragrance extremely spicy, it slowly dims itself and seems to just subtly add to the flavor of the tea. The tea seems to also have just a tad of smokiness. After a short while, the fragrance settles into what it will be for the duration, a nice, lightly smoky cup of tea. Sitting in a gently lit booth, in the rear part of a small, quaint, eatery in Japan, before me is my usual large pot of tea, steaming away. As I slowly thumb through some text, it wafts up now and again, hitting my nostrils, bringing comfort. A story book relaxing moment, in fragrance form.

I bought IACH because I wanted to treat myself. I was not looking for a perfume to impress or seduce someone, just for me. It is a comforting tea scent that immediately soothes you. What also enticed me was the artwork and the haiku: I love Japan. I was somewhat disappointed with the large bottle - just plain white without the cap which is too big for it - but the travel bottle with the ship is probably the most beautiful bottle I have ever had. You can refill it with a 55 euro bottle of 10 ml and I will probably do that for the rest of my life (if they let me).

I love this one! I would say it is fresh, clean and warm (but not warm spicy). It reminds me of a sunny day in Saint-Tropez or the Cote D'Azur, where a nice and beautiful person is walking by on the terrace leaving a wonderful scent trail. The spicy ginger and cold cardamom, work very well together and balance each other, where as the white tea makes you feel clean and bright. This scent works best on a very hot day. You can tell this is a super high quality niche fragrance, it smells very natural and pleasing. Bought a bottle/box.

I have tested for 2 days and I love it. Its a gentle gingery spicy tea scent - not projecting, but it lasts me all day. It's ever so slightly reminiscent of Wulong Cha, but MUCH quieter, less citrusy, and more gentle and soothing. I would call Wulong Cha invigorating and I am coming home cozy like a pot of tea with a friend. I will buy a bottle when I can get it on steep discount. I don't find it boring at all. NOTE: it is a skin scent. so if you are looking for something that makes a presence, this is not it.

Oh no, another Floraiku scent I love and covet a full bottle of. If you want to smell like sweet tea in a fancy, grown up way, this is for you! I do want that. I used to have a body mist from a little indie company in like 2010 that was called "Iced tea twist". This reminds me of that, but more spicy and sophisticated. I love this scent for a hot summer night, but it might be really nice in fall too. It is very warm and welcoming, like its concept suggests.

A very loveable scent. Weirdly enough for me this is more of a "fresh" scent rather than warm spicy - the spices used in this one (ginger and cardamom) are traditionally referred to as "cold" spices. The opening has a very vibrant, almost citrusy quality to it, beautiful. It settles down to something pleasant and not too "in your face". Sadly it's not at all worth the exhuberant price the company are asking for, but it's still a gorgeous creation.

Sparkling green tea with lemon! It makes my mouth water and miraculously doesn’t annoy my husband. Is it worth $350? No, but if you’re not hung up on on gorgeous perfume bottle displays $10 for an empty glass perfume bottle + $206 for the 60ML refill is about in line with what an “average priced” niche costs. Are there cheaper versions available? Probably, but personally the longevity I’ve had out of my sample is worth the FB (refill!!) price.

Other notes: Bergamot, Citrus, Pink-Pepper, Jasmin Tea Accord, Cedarwood, Guaiacwood, Musk, Amber Notes. I was going to say this is an amazing citrus without citrus, but it's there. The combination is clean yet cozy, easily one of the best citruses I've smelled as it's very subtle and balanced. Not much tea from what I can tell though-- white tea seems like a poor choice to compete with notes as distinct as ginger and citrus.

It’s a nice and cozy perfume which is similar to its name. Warm, kind and pleasant like mother’s embrace. The first the heat and sweetness of ginger and cardamon are obvious but gradually it becomes like a citron tea. It’s long lasting and a good choice for the cold weather. This brand has a fabulous packaging and different unisex aromas but they are unfortunately expensive. I love this one more than others in this brand.

I love how this smells. Bright, fresh, and clean. There must be some citrus in here in addition to the ginger. I don't get any cardamom. This is like a toned down version of Wulong Cha which I find too sharp. Unfortunately, I get almost no projection from this at all. It's a skin scent right from the start. I have no problem paying 50 bucks for a skin scent, but I am not going to shell out 350 bucks for one.

Initial application hits you with an amazing spicy sweet from the ginger. It mellows out into a luxurious mixture that reminds me of sitting in a cozy nook with a good book and a warm cup of tea. I wish the ginger stuck around for longer, but I'm still very happy with the notes overall because it's just so light and yummy without disappearing instantly. Solid pick for a warm, spicy tea scent.

Clean, bright and fresh. A citrusy ginger opening—there is definitely lemongrass or bergamot unlisted in the opening—that I could believe reads as a cleaner product to some but to me is not sharp or artificial like that at all. One of my favorite fresh summer fragrances. The tea, ginger, citrus opening and cardamom blend well and come together for a linear but beautiful experience.

This is sitting in a luxurious spa courtyard surrounded by tropical ginger, bamboo and lotus flowers. You are drinking tea in a fluffy bathrobe, listening to a relaxing water feature. This fragrance is just for me. It is perfect for places where sillage is a concern. It’s a bit screechy on paper, but lovely on skin.

tried it once in a department store in Geneva when I was on business trip. can't recall the exact scent, the only thing I can remember is that it gave me the feeling of home, which reminds me the smell of my home town -- Hong Kong another thing I remember about this perfume is that the longevity is short.

I fell head over heels when I sampled this, it was an immediate love. A beautiful, light, fresh, tea scent. Nearly pulled my credit card out and bought a bottle but the price is pretty high for this. I will stick to my Ethereal Wave for now, which I also love dearly, but it’s definitely on the wishlist.

Korean ginger citron tea without the sugar. Spicier and deeper than other ginger scents I've tried, pretty photorealistic. I just imagine that there's a ginger-scented body lotion somewhere out there that does 95% of what this fragrance does at 5% of the price. It's not very complex.

Absolutely gorgeous feminine perfume. I was looking for THE ONE two month and now I feeling I came home :) Very expensive yes but the smell... On me, on clothes, on a pillowcase. I'm obsessed.

There's most definitely lemongrass in here. The only thing stopping me from buying the full bottle, apart from the extortionate price, is the fact that this scent is really linear.

if you love tea blends, white tea and sage scent. Then this would be the fragrance for you. It has a close smell to Aqua Media by MFK.

Fresh clean tea ginger and spices it smells like imagination from LV mixed with G&B ingenious ginger so good 9/10

Evocative of what westerners associate with Japanese mood in scent, clean and peaceful, spa-like, relaxing.

Really pleasant fresh citrus/ginger fragrance but not at all worth the retail price IMHO.

This is one of my absolute favorite fragrances of all time. It's absolutely beautiful.

This is not a positive review, for which I apologise, but it may be helpful nonetheless. I am testing from an official Floraiku sample set. First sniff of this from the spritz applied to the back of my right hand is absolutely wonderful - immediate love - wow - can it get better? Unfortunately, what started as a heavenly ginger cloud dies back very abruptly, leaving the scent of a (very) lightly spiced lemon tea, with minimal sillage. I am sure there are notes missing from the above pyramid (which is identical to that provided by Floraiku), as I can smell lemon and a light non-animalic musk. Four people have voted the sillage as moderate and one as heavy - so, just in case my nose was malfunctioning, I asked my husband's opinion. He is not a perfume fan as he is extremely sensitive to - and dislikes - "perfumey" smells; his attitude to my obsession is best described as long-suffering (emphasis on "suffering"). Anyway, the point of asking his opinion of the sillage was to see how close to his sensitive nose I had to bring my hand, before he could smell IACH; the answer? Six inches (15 cm) - and this was within ten minutes of spraying. It smells citrussy to him, too. In all honesty, this could easily be one of the myriad tea perfumes by Elizabeth Arden. I sprayed about two hours ago and a faint trace of IACH remains - but at this price point (255 Euro for 50ml directly from the company) I expect far better performance. ETA: I have since showered (and scrubbed, as I like to remove all traces of the days perfume before applying another) and there is still a very faint trace of IACH remaining on the back of my hand. I'd sprayed a little Krizia My Afrika (misspelled as AfriCa on Fragrantica) as I felt there may be a slight similarity (there isn't really) with IACH. There's a still fainter trace remaining of that, too.

I Am Coming Home by Floraiku (play on Haiku) will first charm you with its subtlety. It has a gentle, soft, feminine touch that reminds me of the luxury bath products provided at my hotel in Singapore in 2019. The notes listed are ginger oil, white tea and and cardamom oil, and there is a subtlety reminiscent of Korean or Japanese perfumes. Slightly peppery, fresh, relaxing, it all feels like the scent one might experience in a luxury spa, perhaps coming out of fragrance diffuser. I could also picture this perfume blown into the air conditioning systems of a five star hotel in Tokyo, the kind of hotel with $700 a night rooms, and a white candle lit lobby with low slung, armless sofas, and translucent windows, paper shades, modernist water fountains, and a 50 foot long bar with 60 types of whiskies; and beautiful clientele served by well trained hosts under 29 years old, who unobtrusively carry drinks to your table and whisk them away when you are done. The showstopper of the scent is the glorious bottle, unlike anything on the market with a top that is long and tall with a turquoise and gold Japanese silk painting of white cranes and white clouds. Even if the bottle were empty, it would be worthy of display. At $350 a bottle it is a piece of art for someone very rich and very aesthetic.

To me it smells less perfume-y and more like high quality soap, if that's the kind of smell you're after. Very fresh and bright and clean and simple. There's no complexity or layers. You have the ginger/citrus and the tea dueling for attention. They don't blend so much so you get this alternating scent depending on your angle and distance. The ginger/citrus are stronger in the beginning, and the tea is more prominent in the dry down. I don't sense cardamom at all which is a shame because it's my favorite scent. Very light, natural, and pleasant. It's neither very deep or very airy - feels more cozy and just the right amount of tang to balance off the leafy herbal-ness. Feels very unisex and a safe wear - suitable for home / office / gym / casual events etc. i personally wouldn't wear it for romantic dates or formal events due to how soapy and simplistic it is) I purchased it despite the high cost because i couldn't find a similar alternative and because I felt like i needed such a scent profile in my collection (i.e my other citrus-y or tangy ones lack ginger and they have additional layers of leather/smoky/musky/ambroxan) lasts only 3-4 hours for me

This scent starts as a fresh unisex scent on my skin. I definitely get a citrusy tea smell. At the beginning, the ginger is still quite sharp, like you might recognise from a highly concentrated ginger shot sold in fancy health food shops. I think this one contributes to it coming across as unisex at first. However, the longer I wore the fragrance on my skin (maybe 40min), the more mellow the ginger became. From this point on, the scent almost had a flowery, delicate quality to it. It seemed more feminine leaning. I can still perceive the perfume on myself after 5 hours and I think it will last at least another 1 to 2 hours. I like the fragrance very much and own a 10ml version. It's not unique enough for a whole bottle so I' ll probably buy Nishane's Wulong Cha as a fragrance instead, which satisfies my need for green tea and has a really great performance for a tea scent.

I only have a sample of this, but the bottle designs are some of the coolest I've ever seen. This scent stays close to the skin, the longevity isn't great, and the price... oh man. And despite that, I still like this one quite a lot. I can affirm that it quickly goes down to a soapy, musky citrus scent. Not spicy at all, not too sweet either, but very, very comforting - probably because jasmine is my favourite note in the florals. I've yet to try it on a hot day, but if it doesn't perform well I won't mind spraying it once on my pillow every now and again. It's calming, soft, and aptly seems to suit the brand's ethos. Oh, and if I remember correctly, it reminds me a bit of D&G Pour Homme 90s edition, which is also a solid frag btw. Would I buy a bottle of this? If it performed better and I inherited the wealth of a long lost uncle I don't know about, sure.

*Blind Review* This was my final sample from the Floraiku discovery set and the moment I sprayed it I knew this was The Blanc and The Vert inspired. The opening of this fragrance is a very smooth but still extremely zesty Ginger, quickly moving through lemon and bergamot. The 'tea' note is likely the typical hedione/beta ionone combo seen in most tea fragrances from this family. There is an herbal greenness that is not overwhelming or stemmy, just a clean spa-like herb. Dry down moves into a touch of ambrette fruitiness, vetiver/cedar dry wood, and musk. This is likely the best from their discovery set, but unfortunately the most unoriginal. This scent profile can be achieved at much better costs while honoring the original perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. I'd say the only true difference here is the heightened ginger note which is very pleasant.

I'm rewriting my review because the more I wear it, the more ginger I get. Fresh, so fresh! Like you brewed a ginger tea and accidentally spilled it on yourself (careful, don't let anyone get burned!) This one is different from Wulong Cha, which it constantly gets compared to. That one is more citrusy and figgy, while this is a tea fully focused on ginger. Besides smelling very clean, it's also a bit soapy. The base is on the darker side, its woody texture becomes noticeable towards the end. Also, this house's names and bottle designs are amazing! The "coming home" choice here might make you expect something cozier, but to me this scent represents the tea you have after getting home, feet up, unwinding. I don't know where to begin but I have to say the name of this perfume is a true depiction of my own childhood, reminiscent of my family and our very first home. Floraiku, you nailed this one. As the pandemic continues, I miss my parents so much more. This is nothing new or spectacular but it's done just right for me. It brought back a lot of fond childhood memories which often involved comfort food. When my mother made hot ginger tea, ginger based desserts, soups and stews. Yummy! This perfume sits quietly on your skin and creates a soft yet cozy scent bubble. I really enjoy this and hope to get a full bottle soon. This is the first time a perfume truly hits home for me. Wow.

I Am Coming Home smells like many similar tea scents around. I like the concept of Floraiku, the perfumes are all delicate, relaxing, nostalgic, kind and warm-hearted, their bottle aesthetic is beautiful, the names are creative and inspiring, but they are also very expensive. Overall impression on Floraiku: if you can pay for those extra details and aesthetics, then great, because the scents are very good quality, not offensive and hard to dislike, but if you can't, you are not really missing out too. It's not like there aren't very similar perfumes.

This starts off as sprite and white tea, and ends as gingerale/tea (not quite spicy enough to become gingerbeer). I say that in the most complimentary of ways. It's a beautiful and calming scent. One of my favourites. Edit (dec 12, 2020): I do like this perfume quite a bit but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find a time and place to wear this one? It's almost more of an aromatherapy, diffuser type scent than a wear and go for me! But it is quite nice and my sister seems to love using it (she isn't much of a perfume person)!

Short Review. 8.6/10 Very unique smell for very few ingredients. Really prominent ginger note that turns the dry down into a tea-cinnamon combo, with tea being more prominent. Very fresh and comforting at the same time. Smells close to Two Trees in my opinion, from the same house. The cap design is amazing, but the bottle design is lacking. Unfortunately, a tad bit overpriced compared to the quality and depth of other niche fragrances for a similar price. But I do admit that it is very unique.

I think this may be the first fragrance Iʻve tried where both the ginger AND tea notes donʻt go wonky on my skin. The initial spray comes out very tea forward— I thought this was going to be a cozy skin scent. Within seconds though, the ginger pulls forward and the fragrance goes spicy aromatic. As it starts to dry down, it reminds me of a less sugary version of Grittiʻs Pomelo Sorrento. If you like that fragrance but find it too feminine leaning, this one is definitely solidly unisex.

This is one of the best ginger focused scents I’ve tried, it holds onto the ginger into the drydown and its a nice warm spice brightened a little with the cardamom bright spicy freshness in a room temperature tea. Longevity is the downside, and the price. This is quite nice but it’s nowhere near worth it’s cost in my opinion, Heeley’s Gingembre can be had for cheaper with double the amount and is similar in style and performance.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It's a distant cousin of my beloved, discontinued Cactus Garden by LV. Ginger takes the place of the lemongrass but there's a similar freshness from the bergamot and tea. It's not as elevated as CG but not a bad alternative at all for summer. Very fresh and lasts fairly well.

A likable citrus and ginger tea scent with decent performance. After an hour or so there is a persistent sour note, might be an unlisted note such as white musk. I’m not going out on a limb to suggest this is for warm weather. I like this perfume, but I’m not compelled to add it to my collection.

The first house of this perfume is so lovely – a sharp, energizing, bright ginger with lemon undertones. Unfortunately it fades pretty drastically at the hour mark and then I'm left with a lingering lemon green tea scent – still lovely in a soft way, but not worth the price tag IMO.

Smell like lemon face cream or lemon cold cream with a touch of ginger. Musk noticeable at the dry down. Longevity better than tipical citrus fragrance. Though it is overpriced, it is delightful. It can be used for different occasions.

As mentioned below, it is a fresh spicy scent with ginger and cardamom. The ginger is shouting loudly in the beginning and it blends well with the tea scent and settles on my skin. To me it is a cup of hot minty ginger tea.

If this doesn’t have citrus in it somewhere I will eat a shoe. Smells like lemon cleaning spray. Does that mean I don’t like it? No. I am perfectly willing to smell like an extremely clean kitchen.

This brings me back to a windy beginning of spring, just stepping in side a warm living room and being offered a cup of warm ginger lemon tea. Very comfortable and lovely and realistic.

A lot of ginger and tea. I also smell citrus. Bright and comforting! Sadly, I get no cardamom whatsoever. It could easily be a Lush scent! Review of discovery kit sample, number 5/11.
