In The Rain

This is one if the nicer Floraiku scents out of the box. The problem with this brand is that with only three ingredients per scent everything is so linear that it’s all rather beautiful, but simple, without layering one of the (equally expensive) “shadowing” scents. In The Rain, though, is one if the few that works nicely on its own. It’s subtle, but there’s a couple distinct layers - the bergamot is more of the floral variety (I wouldn’t call it a citrus scent at all, in fact) and the “woody musk” (whatever that is) creates a nice underlayer. Seemed to take about fifteen minutes for the Cedar to be noticeably cedary. A slight soapy, aldehyde note became apparent as well, which I wasn’t crazy about but it wasn’t aggressive. Floraiku scents vary wildly in strength, and this is for sure one of the milder ones. It’s lost next to either of the “shadowing” scents .

Absolutely love this one. Another one of the Floraiku collection that changed my mind about notes I used to dislike. This is a very wonderful, slightly resinous zitric cedar perfume, very peaceful vibe to it. I enjoy it very much!

I do not get the notes for this one at all. This smells like wet concrete or a rainy day in the woods. its gorgeous and very calming, i find projection is about average but it has great longevity

In this fragrance the bergamot is handled much better then the way they handled it in their fragrance Just a Rose. This one is a clean woody citrus fragrance that has a very slight powdery dry down. It isn't my favorite cedar based fragrance. Those 2 are Mason Louis Marie's #2 Le Long Fond and Abel's Green Cedar. And the reason for that is probably because they leave out bergamot all together. This sample went in my husbands collection. I went through a I need to find a unisex fragrance faze while sampling during COVID lockdown and I found out I'm still a floral/sweet/oriental girl. Oh well he got to try some really great male fragrances.

Working off a sample from the set- this is really pleasant- gentle, bergamonty cedar which just almost fougere/ barbershop. Longevity and sillage are just OK. But that price point is LOLZ. 260GBP for 60ml? Not worth it at all. There are MANY similar fragrances out there that achieve more or less the same for a much lower price.

Very calming. Hits you in the chest. I get a very definite myrrh here. It's a little spicy, woody and warm. I know it's got musk as a base note and it's listed as powdery, but that doesn't ring out for me.

A super nice cedar, citrus fragrance. Reminiscent of the smell outside after a rainy day.

It's interesting that many people describe this as fresh, because to me this smells EXACTLY like a musty concrete cellar after the rain. And what the water on my apartment floor smelled like after the apartment overhead flooded, having passed/filtered through old concrete walls. Maybe this has geosmin in it? A testing strip radiated that musty concrete smell extremely strongly. It's unfortunately not the clean warehouse concrete smell that's absolutely intoxicating to my nose. Quite similar, but with some dirtiness that ruins the magic of that smell. This is a concrete cellar that's had flood damage to it, never having been properly fixed. Musty and damp.

This was a HUGE letdown. It basically smells like nothing. Opens up with some bergamot and cedar, and that quickly fades to a boatload of Iso E Super. It's so boring. It says nothing. Makes no statement at all. 5,75/10

A carpet in the rain. And a mild but sharp bergamot note. That’s what it smells like -_- Musky. Stays close to the skin. Mildly spicy. Mild, masculine lean.

I love citrusy woods. I am picky with musks and only enjoy super clean musk. This is a musk-forward musky musk bomb full of musk and it’s not the kind that I jive with. I’m sure it’s beautiful if you love musk but if you don’t, beware.

Damp angelica like green tart-bitter woody cedar Floraiku is a brand i initially felt skeptical about, but as discounter prices slowly have stripped the ridiculous price tag, I have gradually found pleasure in their abstract often surprisingly intriguing creations. They almost feel like a higher budget Miller et Bertaux, who similarly go for simplistic yet interesting profiles, at times a bit rough around the edges and technically dubious, but surprisingly genuine feeling. In the Rain is an unexpected hit for me, it takes that cool damp earthy clove meets angelica bitter forest floor feeling we know from French Lover and puts ontop blend of cedar oil, patchouli and iso e. The opening is particularly effective, like a stroll through a wet park in Central Europe in the fall, with rooty green vegetation and tall evergreens dominating. The dry down eventually crumbles into shades of iso E paint stripper, but its easily forgiven unless you really dislike that type of finish. Look for heavily discounted refill bottles online, they are surprisingly easy to find and will save you over half of the price if you don't mind decanting into spray bottles.

Woody musc posing like and Oud I came up to this when I went to the store of Boulevard Haussmann in Paris to test them out and after purchasing "I am coming home" I was given several samples including this one. I must say I am disappointed by the smell. It seems to be the typical cedar-sandal wood that, given the musks, reminds you of popular western ouds. The positive note is that I have smelled many of them and they all tend to be demanding: either too spicy, either to sweet (honey and musk) etc.. . "In the dark" achieves the same profile with more versatility and agility while maintaining an excellent craft: the perfume creates an oil layer on the area. If you are fan of the genre you might find this interesting. I am just a little bored by the theme, which reminds me nothing about the rain nor the nature.

I encountered this brand and scent on a visit to NK in Stockholm, sprayed it on my wrist and received a small 1.5 ml sample which I base this review upon. The presentation is on a next level, very eye catching. I had to try it. There is a clear Bergamot note in it mixed with cedarwood, a very oily scent. My first time smelling it on a paper strip, my mind scurried away to a Tom Ford scent I tested which I cannot recall the name of. My brother told me it reminded me of the scent given by a band aid. How long it lasts? I'd say it lasts between 8-10 hours and the sillage is moderate, not cloying. I hope this helps.

I got a sample of this so take that for what it is. However, my instant reaction to the top notes was a 'gag'. It has a putrid weird opening with the sharp sugarless bergamot and woody notes. I really found this awful. MM When the Rain Stops is much, much nicer than this.

Peculiar. I would describe In the Rain with this adjective. It is a musky fragrance, then you feel a noticeable fougere accord but the sweet musk cloud comes out again. (Ambrox and Iso E-Super). Cons: Find a beautiful umbrella to wear this!

I got a 10 ml of this and it smells almost identical to French Lover from Frederick Malle, its nice, green and herbal, a relaxing scent. 8/10

To my nose this is a simple, woody aromatic. It's not as unique as many in the Floraiku lineup, but it's lovely and a bit masculine.

Pretty simple yet extremely likeable smell. Had to get a bottle!
