Just A Rose

Opens: Like a fresh cup of lemon tea, with a bit of florals and light woods backing it up. Very soft and delicate. No sharp edges, no rough surfaces. Elegant and clean. I can't say it's rose forward, but there are rose here. Jasmine and Neroli too, i think. Mid: Now the rose is showing up. As the citruses settles down, a beautiful, soapy clean rose is pushing through. Still has that tea note as well, but less prominent. The fresh lemon note is gone, and the bergamot is just keeping the scent lightly citrusy fresh. There are a lot of clean (white?) musk. It's the only note i have an allergic reaction to, and i can feel my throat tightening up from the fragrance. Which is why i generally don't seek out musk heavy fragrances. The Guaiac wood is showing up more towards the late-mid, early dry-down. Strong and robust, but perfectly blending into the rose and tea notes. Dry-down: Pretty much keeps the mid, but toned down. It does go closer to the skin after about an hour or two, and sticks to being a "close" scent bobble. Which lasts about another 3-4 hours before being a skin scent. Making the total longevity 4-6 hours on me, depending on temperature and activities. Scent impressions: Elegant, beautiful, delicate, and soft. Unisex, and for any age. Warm spring days and summer. Personal score: 9/10. I love the scent. Clean, refreshing, dancing elegantly in the air. There is no flaws in the scent. Could it be more complex, yes. But that's not the point of the fragrance. It is "Just A Rose", which it Is, but also So much more. Wearing this is effortless and perfect for summer days.

Another gorgeous scent but it is also shockingly strong! This is like a 2 or 3 spray fragrance, if you overspray this one you are definitely in for a bad time. After 4 sprays I decided to not apply any more because Just A Rose was becoming quite strong. The scent profile itself is very nice but it is also very very simple and slightly basic. All I smell in it is strong notes of very natural smelling rose along with lighter notes of oud wood and citrus with perhaps a tiny bit of something else I can’t quite recognize in it. I quite enjoyed this fragrance and I tend to enjoy simpler fragrances. But I could see it not being for everyone, especially at Floraïku Paris’s higher price point. Performance on both fronts was in all honesty slightly insane here. For longevity I got around 6 hours of strong wear on my skin and around 7 on my clothes. After this it faded down to a skin scent where it is still noticeable present if I get my nose close to where I applied it almost 12 hours later. A 8/10 for longevity! Projection was very good as well, even with minimal sprays. This definitely radiated around me but I don’t think it was a huge scent bubble. I would give Just A Rose a 7/10. I really enjoyed this simple natural smell of this fragrance! This is one that I would definitely wear again. I would just reiterate the point of making sure not to overspray, especially if you are going to be in a smaller space! This one also might lean a bit femmine for some people but for me it’s a 9/10. I absolutely loved it!

Like many of the other reviewers, Iʻm not a big rose fan, but this one is a YES. Starts out bright and refreshing with the citrus top notes. There's also an aromatic quality about it that makes it stand out from other fruity-rose-patchouli frags. I was actually reminded of Un Jardin à Cythère, so I'm not surprised to see that others voted for sur le Nil, sur le Toit, and sur la Lagune; this has definite Hermès Un Jardin vibes. The dry down is a soft rose and tea that is just beautiful. I get good projection and longevity on this, but I'm still finding it hard to justify that Floraïku price tag. Also, I know others have listed the actual notes from the Floraïku website, but I'm putting it in a format that should make it easier to read below: Top: Grapefruit essence, Bergamot essence, Mandarin essence Heart: Mate absolute, Rose essential, Rose absolute Turkish Base: Patchouli Heart, Tonka Bean absolute, Guaiac wood essence

I find it odd the notes listed for this scent on Fragrantica. Seems like theyre literally wrong on every level. Floraiku list Bergamot, wood and rose. Where Cassis, cherry blossom and white musk come from?? On first spray, theres a huge hit of citrus orange/ bergamot which lingers for a short time. Then the wood comes on, a dry sandy wood, rather than the oudy woods of other scents. Theres the tea leaf note, but this is really really subtle, almost have to know its there before you find it. And finally, the rose comes forward, and remains as the backbone of this scent. Its a powdery rose, almost like a Taif, but being a Japanese style company, maybe a Hamanasu rose? I dont know, as i have not had big experience with this particular rose. I really like it, and comfortable wearing it.

It's a YES for me! This is a simple, yet still present and beautiful citrus rose! It is woody and aromatic, but still light and fresh - just stunning for me in a very simplistic yet apparent way; I have been wearing one spray for hours in cool/winter weather, and this "light rose" is standing!! Totally unwavering and non-fleeting. You need to enjoy rose to rock w/ this, otherwise, you're probably going to get tired of the rose being front and center. ...this reminds me of one of the Shower to Shower powders, can't recall if it's the pink bottle or the blue bottle, but it's definitely reminding me of those lovely fragrant wafts. There's no powder in "Just A Rose" to me, but the fragrance is very reminiscent just the same...

I found Just A Rose Enticing, Fresh and Sophisticated. You can't miss the green of Bergamot or the incensy guaiac wood listed above but Floraiku also lists grapefruit essence, peony, mate absolute and tonka bean absolute. There is a quick rush of optimism with the grapefruit and the clarity and earthy groundedness from the mate. I imagine the tonka serves to smooth out and warm up the composition. I love how the rose is woven through every layer but used more as a bass instrument than the first chair violin. My new favorite for NOW!

It's a fresh and grapefruity rose fragrance with a hint of soap bubbles (in a good way). It smells ultra clean and absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, on me this lasts about 45 minutes and is just a skin scent. Given the longevity, I can't justify the price tag. But if anyone is looking for a vibrant, summery rose that smells classy, this is it!

WOW this is so good. The bergamot and rose combo is fantastic. I wish the longevity and projection were a little better, especially at that price, but overall this is a beautiful scent.

Opens with fresh bergamont but soon turn in to pleasant rose, very much like Hermessence Rose Ikebana but without the airiness and tea note. Longevity is good and sillage is moderate.

This really does what it says on the bottle. It’s a rose perfume, front and center, but the opening surprised me in a good way. There’s a bright, fresh citrus note at the start, not sharp or annoying, just enough to lift the rose and make it feel playful and upbeat. It keeps the rose from going into that sweet, boring, old-school territory. The whole thing feels very smooth and polite on the nose, no scratchiness at all, which honestly is a big plus for me. You can tell it’s well blended. Longevity is decent too, it lasts through the day and I still catch little whiffs of rose on myself. The drydown stays true to the name, it’s still rose, but not flat or one-dimensional. The citrus fades quite quickly, but what’s left is a soft floral, slightly powdery and a bit creamy, very comforting overall. It just smells like a good-quality perfume that was made with care. If you like rose but want something clean, elegant, and not boring, this is a really solid option.

It is indeed pretty much just a rose balanced by woods and citrus I can see why someone who finds roses in perfume annoying to like this since it isn’t really predominant and is taking an equal piece of the whole composition. There’s also more notes than this for sure, i get a lot of mate and tonka bean after 30 minutes when it dries to a skin scent. It’s easy to like and wear but is just so expensive for what it is. Out of the 11 Floraiku scents I tried I don’t think I would buy any of them a lot are just so simple and forgettable even discounted these are still relatively expensive for a 50ml of what you’re getting. Gun to the back of my head having to choose one it would probably be this one but overall really disappointed I really wanted an excuse to own of these bottles the packaging is pretty but it seems it’s mostly just style over substance.

I don't like rose fragrances, so the fact I do like this is a massive surprise! It is so light it is like a veil, gently married perfectly with the citrus. It honestly reminds me of smelling the roses in our garden as a small girl - I have NEVER found another scent that as been able to capture that, and I'm pretty seasoned at this point, so it is an extremely good quality fragrance. Like all fragrances from this house, this one is eye watering in terms of price, but do sample because you may actually still find this it FB worthy - it is that good!

Very pleasant, spa like rose with earl grey facets. There is a certain juicy aspect that feels cucumber like (in the direction of earl grey and cucumber) which I can’t tell if I enjoy or not. It can feel somewhat gummy, violet leaf, fruit flesh if you overthink it. The opening is a bit sharp and unrefined. All in all, pleasant, simplistic, safe blind buy if you like citrus rose/floral type fragrances

Very fresh rose scent. I have been trying lots of rose scents to find a summer rose freshy. This is it. Expensive, but feminine and lovely. longevity is better than I expected. Hours later can still smell directly on skin and occasionally get a lovely waff.

it's super beautiful, reminds a lot of MFK a la rose (which is less expensive) - dewy rose. Very faint so it will suit to someone who dislikes strong scents or is not allowed to use scents at work.

Citrus and rose, with some woods or white florals in the back. High quality and well made as always with this brand.

More citric subtlety from the house of Floraïku. This time, the opening hits pay dirt. I can only describe this opening as feminine leaning and very pleasant. All purpose. Fresh. Clean. Rose and citrus. They may have added ambroxan or something to enhance the aromatic essence, and that’s where they lost me. Gives the fragrance an air freshener aura as it dries down. A swing and a miss.

On paper, I was so excited for this springy rose. On skin, it's a nice citrus-y rose. Reminds me of a diffuser/candle version of Lush's Rose Jam with the citrus and rose but not as jammy.

A creamy, fresh rose. True to life with a citrus zing. Pleasant and slightly mouth-watering. It is indeed (as someone else mentioned) elegant and non-intrusive.

Very pretty, aromatic, zesty rose. I get some infusion of tea in this or it is just an effect bergamot has. I like the aesthetic, but it is overpriced.

Iʻm not a big rose fan, and this is a very insisting one. No thanks.

Smells like Essential Parfums Rose Magnetic. I don’t like either

I sampled this one and many more from this house a while back and wasn't that impressed w/ any of the scents. The only one I would consider wearing was their In the Dark which is an interesting take on rose, it combines it w/ peppermint and incense. I personally found Just a Rose to be anything but a rose, it is a bergamot bomb. I am real picky about bergamot, if it isn't handled in a delicate way I'm out. If you love bergamot and love fresh perfumes that have real lasting power then this one is for you. Sadly enough my husband really loves this one for himself! I wish I had never sampled it because he is considering buying it to wear. I really hate it! When he sprays just a little of the sample we still have it fills the whole house w/ the scent. It is very strong.

Very smooth bergamot/earl grey rose with a smooth, creamy wood backbone. A bit similar to Les Indemodables Rose de Jamal, but significantly weaker. The softly sweet, creamy rose and wood combination is quite alike, though Rose de Jamal is much more rose forward, and the rose is better. It differs in that this has a really great bergamot/ Earl Grey effect. While this doesn't expressly have tea, the mate creates an analogous effect. Actually I find the Earl Grey to be quite dominant in the opening of this composition. This opens with a distinctly honeyed Earl Grey, much heavier on the bergamot than the tea/mate. A very realistic, vivid Earl Grey with a dollop of honey and some added rosehips. The rose and wood are relegated to supporting characters until the drydown some 4 hours or so into the wear, where they become more dominant relative to the earl grey. A fresh, thorny, energetic tea and rose fragrance. The textures contrast, as the bergamot hit is quite strong, bright and sour, while the Rose/Wood is smooth and polished. A well built fragrance, although the name is quite the misnomer. This is not a rose soliflore. Far from it. This is a fantastic Earl Grey but quite a poor rose fragrance. Even in the drydown, the wood seems dominant over the rose. Perhaps the name is facetious? Although the marketing says otherwise. Regardless, this stuff is gorgeous, especially the Early Grey and honey opening. Too bad the honey fades fast, only its sweetness behind. Earl Grey in itself is a very simple combination, just bergamot oil and a good black tea. Conceptually, this type of scent, for a brand like Floraiku that aims to be concise and pare down any unnecessary bloat in its fragrances, seems like a perfect fit. Simple, but the thing they are trying to realistically render is also simple. A perfect Earl Grey scent absolutely cannot be complex. Simple, basic, but not trivial. Anything approaching realism cannot be trivial. Broaching art and the real world neccesitates intrinsic value.There can be 50 scents, all virtually identical, all approaching photorealism. None of them are trivial because they are real. If this were 50 perfume constructs, existing separate and distinct from anything in the real world, they would all be trivial. Perhaps all except the first. Is that not the essence of a haiku? How much uniqueness is even possible in such a short work? Its value comes not from its individuality, but from its ability to recapitulate the natural world and our relationships toward the natural world, through carefully selected characters and harmony of form. If a haiku can successfully render some essential, base feeling, even if unoriginal, it is valuable. This is the same.

A strong blast of bergamot with a subtle woody rose in the back that becomes more prominent as it dries down. Wish the rose was more powerful as this smells like a generic bergamot fragrance. Mediocre performance

It definitely creates a de ja vu of YSL In Love Again, probably better representation than the reformulated YSL. Also white musc is quite present here. Not bad, bottle design is amazing.

It's a fresh take on rose with bergamont on top with woody undertone base...good one but nothing groundbreaking! 7/10...

Cassis-Rosy-Musky, like In Love Again by YSL, but more musky. or More citrusy, cassis version of Young Rose by Byredo.

Basically MFK a La Rose. Not a bad fragrance but I was veery underwhelmed, had high hopes for this one.

A beautiful, non-intrusive rose, refreshed with bergamot. Elegant. smells like spring.

Did Floraïku forget they have a perfume with the same exact 3 notes already??
