Levitating

It's extremely well-crafted and vaporous piece of art. I discovered it in a hurry and dismissed it as a "Gingerbread-like Christmas Tea" then moved on. My feelings toward it have changed dramatically. 🖤 Dominant Notes: Ceylon Black Tea, Vanilla Secondary Notes: Mandarin, Mate, Clove, Angelica Seeds Nonexistent Notes: Bergamot, Cedarwood, Guaiac Wood I wake up in Tibet, Northern Nepal or Uzbekistan. In those distant lands of thick, itchy wool. In the mist of my own awakening, I drink this first sip of Ceylon black tea (a Sri Lankan tea with a vague chocolatey flavor, as if it contained dried fruit), round and steaming, or Earl Grey. Was this also Alexandra David-Néel's basic breakfast? An opening of infused Mandarin, luscious as candied orange studded with cloves. It's quickly joined by a Bourbon Vanilla with tannins, full-bodied with bitter honey. Buettery, muted and poetic, lingering on the palate, drunk from a handcrafted porcelain cup with a gold rim. A fragrance, in short, that arouses in me a terrible nostalgia for a life I never had, for meditative peace, far from the hustle and bustle of the urban city. A discreet but rich fragrance encapsulating ethnic traditions inaccessible to me. And even though it's cold, the locals play musical instruments like the surnay, the tar, the rabab, the ghaychak, and the kobyz to keep us warm. I then open the Cedar spice box I brought back from Mongolia on a previous trip. Its woody aroma of smoked Maté at the bottom, cinnamon and aniseed angelica seeds. "Levitating" doesn't have such a name for no reason. A name I didn't understand at first. It's a gentle ascent, a mystical hovering induced by the warmth of Black Tea, the scent of the glorious city of Kathmandu... 🖤

It's very refrashing and openly hydrogen Jane with sour tea, spices and wood, very beautiful and quiet and also a song forever. Citrus perfume, a very beautiful opening, I do not feel tea clearly here, but I feel spicy and a lot, wood and citrus fruits, it lasts a long time on my skin and on clothes lasts more, when the perfume calms down, it turns into something sweeter and soft than vanilla, he saw that it is a little boring, the best memo Winter palace. 810

I’m in love with this perfume. It feels like a close cousin to Wulong Cha (less bright citrus) and Gris Charnel (less sweet and sandlewood). The black tea is comforting, the vanilla bourbon isn’t too overpowering, cloying or boozy and overall it’s a beautiful airy, happy scent. I applied my sample before bed and still had a skin scent of it in the morning. I couldn’t resist and purchased a FB immediately.

What an amazing scent! This is the best vanilla chai scent I have ever smelled, and I have smell quite a lot in this profile! Cloves, citrus, tea, vanilla! It never gets cloying, it never smells like an old stale perfume. Just amazing. More of a winter autumn perfume, but I can definitely see it in a summer evening. It doesnt smell like winter Palace at all

Th name Levitating is quite accurate for this scent. It is so addicting and makes me so happy. If you love TEA you will love this. In the opening I get a strong sweetened black tea; the cloves are also strong and it's intoxicating. The mid is where the citrus comes through for me. Overall, this is the best thing I've smelled this year!

This was my favourite scent this winter! It reminds me of Christmas, smoky spicy orange vanilla. In my opinion this is a better version of Memo‘s Winter Palace (sister company if I recall). I usually don‘t get comments from people around me regarding perfumes, but this one got me 3 compliments from my coworkers!

Another fragile, high-class, high-priced cup of tea in a mincy-pincy little porcelain cup from Floraiku. The house does this gorgeous note (a personal obsession, which I'm always chasing after in perfume) to a standard so much very much higher than most others can match. BUT. It also gouges unacceptable amounts of money for what it gives. Was absolutely STOKED to read the note list for this, as I have and love their Moon & I and I Am Coming Home, but am often torn between loving their delicate beauty and fuming at their weak sillage and all-too-brief presence. The chance to smell that same world-class tea with orange (another favourite note) AND have it punched up up with clove and mate (yes, yes, also favourites, keep going!) AND give it decently robust chassis beneath, which might eke it out longer? Surely a love in the making. I couldn't wait to try it. And: the inevitable happened: all those wonderful things are there. I genuinely adored its aura. Revelled in the initial unfolding of its leaves. Then wept as the wisps diffused, so heartbreakingly quickly, like a halo of steam from a freshly-made infusion swept away rudely by a strong breeze. Levitating is only really ever present for half an hour as a perceptible Thing - however gorgeous it may be - and then lingers only in the subtlest, most private way on skin for a few hours more - and even then, only if you sniff yourself furiously to snuffle it out. To be fair, it can trail out a little further in the air - but only at completely random moments, to tantalise and torment - from wrist or neck to your nose during those few hours; maybe that's why they called it Levitating, because it takes airiness to such an extreme. But to only get intermittent, random virtual sips of this beautiful brew when you're paying Floraiku prices is just not fair. Makes me wistful and maybe a little sulky. It's not just me: several fellow fumeheads who I forced to sniff me with this on (purely for objective quality-control purposes only, you understand...) reported they could barely detect anything either. So: I'll stick with its slightly brassier cousin Winter Palace from Floraiku's sister firm Memo instead; and be thankful that Levitating's amazing promise didn't persuade me to blind buy. Now, if you need something super subtle because etiquette or your colleagues or family or partner insist - or if you have a nose so sensitive it makes the Princess of the Princess & the Pea fable pale in comparison - if you can accept this very weakness as a strength - or if you always love your fragrance so sheer and barely-there that it really IS barely there - the Japanese approach to perfume, I understand? - then this might just possibly work. Real-world vulgarians who want to actually keep smelling what they're buying, though, are likely to balk. Flipping Floraiku frustration. Why make such beautiful things so weak? Sigh...

Black tea with lemon. Nice but not for this price.

This one is nice enough. A simple citrus tea scent, a light and uplifting combination, this is good... pleasant... just nothing to shout about. I suspect the word I'm failing to find here is 'Meh'. Honestly, from this house, personally I prefer the smokiness of 'the Moon and I' as a tea scent, this one just kinda fades fast to a whisper of nothing much. It is not bad, in fact the opposite, but it is a whole chunk of change for 'nothing special'. This house has many better than this one imho.

Very spicy. After a little bit the spice fades into something more like a warm citrusy tea, but honestly it faded all together pretty quickly. The scent fades all together after maybe two hours, which is incredibly disappointing. Plus, all the scents seem muted, almost giving the vibe of potpourri that's been sitting too long and is on it's last stretch. While I do like it, it doesn't quite hit, so it's just ok in my opinion.

The citrus is not sharp at all, and in the beginning I get quite a bit of the cloves/spices and vanilla. This scent wasnt as tea forward as I had expected. I think for my taste this is a bit more masculine!

Smells like a cheap off brand winter theme tea. Memo winter palace is similar but better. Very forgettable. Floraiku has super tea frags but this is not it.

initial burst reminds me a lot of Winter Palace by Memo, but the citruses fade very quickly (few minutes) and most of what I smell of the tea leaves right along with it. I’m left with the tea remnants on a base of a generic smelling smokey woody vanilla base. it‘s not a bad scent per se, but I already found Winter Palace to be a bit underwhelming - and it‘s more lively than Levitating

Wow! This is darker than I anticipated. For me it’s a less smoky Tea for Two and a more feminine less citrus heavy Neroli Outrenoir. Very well balanced nice projection for 3-5 hours. I really like the powdery dry down! If anyone has a travel size bottle or partial up for swap please message me! I have lots to swap with (usa)

This perfume smells a little bit like amazing Priscilla Presley Indian Summer. It immediately reminded me of it. And no surprise ! They both shared citrus, tea and cedar combination.

I love black tea, and this is a winner! Fragrant, fresh and spicy black tea with a lemony opening. I will play with this some more and may be getting a FB soon.
