Oh... My... Godness... This is pure class! The opening is similar to mimosa & cardamom by jo malone. Then violet comes in and might smell slighlty feminine but wait for the drop..... :-) Because when it settles it just blends perfectly with some other sweet/woody note that makes this masterpiece just unisex perfection. Wow, wow and wow!!!!! Floral, unisex, creamy and top. Love it

this is beautiful violet -mimosa combo. i love the green-ness and freshness of the violet. the mimosa balances the violet nicely. it was pretty linear on my skin- but very pleasant. if you want elegant violet forward perfume, this is for you!

Really surprised at the reviews I'm reading. This is an incredibly alluring, spicy, form-fitting scent made for a man/confident woman. Absolutely worth testing - of my 50+ niche fragrances, I'd say this is by far the sexiest.

I love that one. It's a kind of dark flowery scent, I think it's very sensual and soothing, the style reminds me of Santal Blush by Tom Ford, the flowery component is just waaay more hypnotizing to me. Amazing one

A very well blended sweet violet leaf and mimosa which sandalwood takes their place when drydown. Nice and feminine but I don’t think it works for men.

Moody, arty, avant-garde reinterpretation of violet with a surprisingly wild natural edge. I'm usually a violent violet hater - it's the smell of twee, powder-pink, fake-nice old-lady to me - but If I were ever to fall in love with a violet fragrance it might be this one. Because it's not fake-nice or twee *at all*. The really punchy, peppery-spicy, herbal presence of the violet leaf means it's closer to a real wet garden (or even wild plant) smell than a cloying talcum powder or cleaning product. The mimosa is veeeery sweet but, again, shaded in well enough not to cloy. Nice clean sandalwood base too. So: not my sort of (violet-purple silk lined) thing, but if you don't have this prejudice and are seeking a modern, organic-seeming violet scent, this is a hugely upmarket and classy one to try.

Finally a Floraiku that feels unique and maybe remotely worth the price, the mimosa with violet combo is fresh and ozonic in a powdery weird way. The sandalwood in the dydown makes it feel more creamier to me this really stands out to me and is almost bottle worthy if the florals last longer than the first hour but this is actually one I can almost recommend but feel its just missing something to make it truly memorable and worth buying.

A cottony, super soft mimosa scent. Like its counterparts, it carries that honeyed feel. It also gives you plenty of violet leaf, very ozonic. There's a vanilla sweetness too, quite adorable, a beauty that represents the color yellow... A powdery mimosa scent that blows with the wind... Mmmh... A rare “interesting like” perfume from this brand. My Shadow on the Wall Opens with both florals present—mimosa and violet— but with pepper and a dill note. It’s a powdery fresh bouquet with some herbs added. Obviously there’s more notes here that aren’t listed above. I’m not sure I’m picking up sandalwood, but the base is woodier. This is a weird one and I like it.

Salty, grassy dryness, like vetiver. Tingles in my nose, ozonic describes it well. Gets sweet, creamy with just a hint of the ozonic sparkle from earlier, which makes it nice. Works together nicely, but way too soft. Performance sucks, mostly. Would have to be twice as loud to be worth putting money on the table, if I can barely smell it myself, it just won't do.

Mimosa overload. Gave me a headache for the first hour of wearing it after which became warm, dusty and cozy. There’s something nostalgic about mimosa that reminds me of my favorite teacher. If you love jo malone mimosa and cardamom, you will enjoy this one too. However i don’t find it special and doesn’t last long on my skin therefore overpriced imo.

Thankfully enough, the mimosa isn't as strong as I thought it'd be. This actually came as a pleasant surprise to me, also because I'm not usually a fan of ozonic / violet leaf fragrances. But this is actually pretty good, apart from the fact that there is virtually no sandalwood in here. I do pick up a leathery vibe to it though.

Powdery violets and mimosa, leans sweet. There's a definite sharp 'zing!' that can be interpretated as ozonic, lends a bit of balance to the powder, but definitely not enough still the powderiness persists. Works best in cool/warmish weather, so spring or autumn. Might be too intense in the summertime.

This a pretty unisex take on violet. It is very green in the opening then it turns floral, the mimosa and violet powdery is very nice. The sandalwood takes over in the dry down and is very high quality and woody and deep. If you want a violet that isn't to sweet or super feminine check this one out.

The fragrance smells juicy, grassy and leafy green. Very cucumber!! Definitely a spring and summer fragrance. There's mimosa but not sweet. It's dry as in greenness under high noon sun dry. It's woody spicy in cool tone. Hard to dislike.

Why am I getting "cucumber" in this fragrance? I'm guessing it's the watery, ozonic notes. The opening is a little rough -- the violet is scratchy to me. But as it dries down, it's a lovely, subtle scent. Nice for spring and summer.

Powdery, muted, creamy, relaxed, sexy. I'm a big fan of this scent, new to mimosa fragrances but now planning to try others. It is slightly headache inducing though.

It smells like nice, clean and fresh hand cream. So, it is a bit creamy too. A pleasant scent.

Yes, the opening of this is mimosa. A soft, creamy, nicely balanced mimosa, granted, but if .. like me.. you don't absolutely love mimosa then the opening and mid of this one .. take a bit of work to get through. What I will say, though, is that if you do make it through the first hour, then the full drydown is just beautiful!! It is SO comforting, kind of like a clean, warm, baby powder hug, it is actually lovely! If you are a mimosa fan there is a good chance it will be an end-to-end 'love' for you. As much as I really did enjoy the drydown, for general wear, this one is a pass for me

A strange fragrance for sure Not something I’ve never smelled before or mainstream in frag com It’s different and relatable in a way The bottom line it was ok Once again and I believe as long as I’m testing this house probably the price you pay is probably for the packaging which is TBH really really beautiful If you are a collector of elegant packagings it’s the one to infest in you can’t go wrong with it

Borderline smelling salt. Sex Panther. Assaults the nostrils. Pungent mimosa and violet leaf blending. Overly subtle, misplaced sandalwood. Not enough nuance. Harmony and balance are herein lost. There’s an interesting quality to this that’s redeeming, but it’s only realized when the shadow on the wall is that of a hot woman.

Definitely a leafy green opening. The mimosa comes through and reminds me of when I lived in France and they were EVERYWHERE in the spring. Not as feminine as some of the other Floraiku florals. Ultimately not my cup of tea but inoffensive

It last on me about 10-15 min and then it's gone... Really - Shadow on the wall... BUT after 4 hours, it is back!! Sandalwood. Pure sandalwood. But I don't understand this fragrance anyway. Is it plays hide and seek? Not my cup of tea. :(

A really nice smell of violets and mimosa. I like it, but it smells like something you could get from Yves Rocher or The Body Shop for less than a tenth of the price. Review of sample from discovery kit, number 4/11.

Yes it’s a mimosa bomb but it was too much for me. Smell exactly like Jo Malone Mimosa Cardamom but this one is more complex because of violet leaf. The sandalwood was gone smacked by the mimosa.

It opens very strongly with the violet leaf and it's quite off putting. That eases a fraction and then you pick out the mimosa. You are also very aware of the sandalwood base. I get that the violet leaf and mimosa work ok together. I just don't like them with the sandalwood. They clash on me. Moderate longevity and sillage.

Smells like a smoothie from the health food store. Leaf, powder, some greenness. Sandalwood gives it a dash of depth. It's not bad, it's just nothing I want to spray on my body again. Might make a good room spritz.

I mostly don't like violet leaf or violet candy accords, but if you do and you happen to be a woman, this soft, natural, pretty, and floral violet blend could be for you. To me, it's just an interesting "meh".

It smells like a greenhouse or spa I'd be instantly delighted to walk into. Cool, fresh, like a white floral but a little brighter and less ornate.

I don't like it. To me the violet leaf is harsh, soapy and never goes away. The mimosa and sandalwood somehow just make it more harsh.

I have really enjoyed wearing My Shadow on the Wall today. I wasn’t super impressed by it when I tried it on a tester strip a few weeks ago, but it really came alive on skin. I have been craving more simple, dry compositions after receiving and wearing decants of a number of rich fragrances last week. I admit that I am not super familiar with mimosa as a note, but I certainly smell a leafy violet from the start. The character of the fragrance feels more powdery-green than powdery-purple (if that makes sense). I detect some gingery, peppery spice in the background, though it plays a quiet, supporting role propping up the composition without ever dominating it. It seems to sweeten over time as the creamy sandalwood comes to the foreground. Along with the wood, I perceive a subtle grassiness and something vaguely almondy in the drydown (think raw, crushed almonds, not marzipan). I have been pleasantly surprised by its performance on my skin. I am continuing to get whiffs of it at the eight-hour mark. It was never loud, but the projection has been consistent. My Shadow on the Wall is really, really nice. I will enjoy the rest of my sample, but I don’t see a bottle in my future because I would have to be thoroughly shook by a fragrance to pay what they’re asking for 50 mL. Still though, I do quite like it.

A botanical fragrance that evokes a dreamlike English garden, a Lewis Carroll tale, a lucid and hazy dream in slow motion, Alice in Wonderland on LSD... The smell inside a greenhouse ! I clearly smell golden daffodils, indefinable flowers and their brittle stems. A watery and ribbed freshness. A green and yellow scent, ozonic and a little sweet because it contains green vanilla. Spring pollen and evanescent spices. It inspires poetry in me with its floral curtain that filters the light. Almost melancholic Rice powder, neither vintage nor contemporary, belonging to a parallel reality. Too bad it's discontinued... On blotter this is an amber-vanilla with the barest hint of incense. On skin it opens ozonic, slightly powdery floral with a vanilla & balsam drydown. Even more vanilla than in Ricochet. There are obviously more than 3 notes in this composition and of the trial set this one is by far my favorite as it’s interesting with the ozonic floral, sweet, and has that ambery balsamic base that has fantastic longevity. Definitely worth a full bottle purchase for me.

I wish people would stop just repeating the listed notes and saying that’s what they smell. Dry peppery violet leaf? Violets?! Leafy green opening?! Floral candy violet?! A few people have mentioned they smell cucumber, and wondered why... well that’s because they are actually describing what they smell! Violet leaf smells of cucumber... so should be creating a watery, cucumber type freshness, nothing dry peppery or violet like at all.

To me this is very soapy, in an aldehyde, churchy incense and some kind of resin kind of way. Is this mimosa?I have sampled various takes on mimosa and it never quite hits the spot, I think I just have to conclude this is not really my note. According to Floraïku's website the notes are: Top: Ginger essence Madagascar, Black Pepper essence, Bergamot essence Heart: Mimosa absolute, Violet Leaf absolute, Incense essence Base: Sandalwood Album essence, Vanilla extract bourbon, Musk I wish I would have seen the full note listing before I purchased a decant. I can't do black pepper in fragrance. Sheesh, I guess I'll be back to update this once my shipment comes in 😕

One from the Forbidden Incense Collection. Quite an unusual one. I haven't previously tried any fragrances containing violet leaf absolute, so this note really stands out to me. I consider this a unisex scent and one worth trying. The Haiku: Pale summer moon O silence My shadow on the wall

Powdery and creamy scent, mimosa and violet leaf? very nice combination. It's comforting and feminine. Probably the best of the sampler. I feel I already have had something very similar ...I think it is Bronze by Ellen Tracy... Try Bronze if you love this scent.

The violet in My Shadow on the Wall is green, light, crisp and fresh. Easy to wear for someone like me who finds a sweet, heavy violet note too cloying. It dries down to one of the best sandalwood ackords I’ve come across. She’s a beauty!

Very subtle violet leaf with a pale wood note in the background. I get almost no mimosa at all. Elegant but very very soft. My skin would eat this up and would get lost in no time. Nice but I cant recommend anyone getting a full bottle.

Dry, slightly powdery mimosa with dusty violets. Quite nice and comforting, would not offend anyone. I find mimosa mostly suited to Easter holidays, but I’ve used it today as a break from my winter scents, very nice indeed!

I would say this smells like a sad bamboo. It’s a perfume to wear when you’re sad/melancholic. I did not get any happy notes.

Warm scent with lots of mimosa. Very comforting and definitely more ozonic than aquatic.
