The Mountain Standing Still

Being from the tea range, its no doubt this one piles on the tea vibe with a hefty spoon. Opening up for me is a fast mix of the black tea and Oud, which literally remains as the entire show throughout, saffron being very muted and hard to detect at first, but if you ignore the scent on you, every now and then a whiff of the fragrance comes to you with saffron easily detectable. Then it disappears again. But wait till its settled properly and the dry down is complete. Then the saffron comes right into play and makes the oud/tea scent a little spicy. Peppery wafts then begin to be more noticeable. I personally think the Black Tea and oud go together really nicely, they blend together and accent each other in a way i didnt think they would. The tea lifts the oud, and vice versa. I like it, and added to my list of Floraiku FB worthy.

Adorable scent. Instant love for someone who's chasing tea in fragrances. Surreal how good it is. Floraiku scents are fragrances with intellect, They develop on your skin in such manner that you don't notice them at first but in a hour you can't stop figuring out what smells so good. Except it's you. So is mountain standing still as well, right before you think it fleets before it even got a chance to develop it hits you with a wave of saffron. Tea not is impeccable, I could drink this fragrance. Oud in the base is not barnyardy, nor cheezy, no fecal aspect found in here either. It's simply crystal white oud. Clean and smooth, without harsh edges. Definite musthave from the range.

Very beautiful but almost non-existent scent (at least on my skin)! Bought after trying on paper. Feels like I threw away my money for an overly priced fragrance with no performance at all. Ten+ sprays and it disappears after 15 min; not even a skin scent. Such a shame! Try it first on your skin before investing a fortune.

A beautiful gentle dry and clean oud scent with a touch of black tea that balances agarwood perfectly. The first note I detect, however, is slightly leathery saffron that normally is so multifaceted that its hard to recognise for me. Here, in Floraiku's minimalist composition, one has a chance to detect and enjoy the saffron note in its beauty. It also adds a slight dry powdery feel throughout the drydown. Later on, tea becomes more prominent with a tiny bit of floral touch against slightly darkened but still clean oud. I really love Floraiku's tea line, The Mountain Standing Still is a very beautiful unisex interpretation. I agree with the last comment that it is an intelligent scent, calm and clear, very smooth and stable. Even though the price is steep, this one smells worthy of it. A signature material for someone who wants a gentle hug of a classy scent without bells and whistles yet with true elegance Stays close to skin with medium longevity. Even though the composition is different, the vibe reminds me very much now-discontinued Bvlgari Eau The Rouge.

Dominant Notes: Black Tea, Coffee, Rocks Secondary Notes: Tobacco, Amyris, Sage (mountain breeze), Vetiver, Cardamom Subtle Note: Saffron Nonexistent Notes: Oud, Myrrh, Patchouli It smells like the ascent on Mount Fuji. A cold awakening at dawn, in your sleeping bag, on the rock. Your head in the pine needles and conifers, with a bitter green and raspy tannin opening, a natural bitterness reminiscent of an 95% dark chocolate bar. In your backpack for breakfast you only brought black tea and coffee. It smells like the mountain, the rock and its minerality. No flowers, no sugar, it's an androgynous scent representing the slope of a still-sleeping mountain. You pick up some pebbles and sniff their gravel scent in the palm of your hand. Fresh and earthy, not at all woody and even less spicy ! It is very peculiar...

Tea forward. The oud, the saffron... ? Not sure they’re doing any heavy lifting here. It’s as good a tea scent as you’ll find, sure. But the price? Eh. Sure, it’s more refined and luxurious than, say, Demeter Black Tea (okay, I don’t actually know if that exists but it probably does) but is it worth the price? YMMV.

Very subtle. Not much in the way of Oud. More spicy leaning to a gourmand for me. It is a close to the skin fragrance. Great longevity...lasted up to 8 hours. Not a fan of this frag particularly at almost $400 a bottle.

I dont get much saffron in this, it's mostly clear black tea smell with oud - simple and elegant. beautifully blended, it's melancholic, calm, and very meditative. I'm sure the notes here are incomplete: there is def a subtle ozonic freshness that smells like dusty/minty sage, and a delicate sweet touch reminiscent of ripe tobacco leaves. the oud itself has little in common with natural ouds, its rather a cold woody smell that somewhat resembles cambodi ouds. to me its mostly a black tea scent, and a very successful one. projection is mid to low, but lasting power is pretty decent - I easily get 5-6 hours off clothes.

No oud to me at all. This does smell similar to the moon and I. The moon is more ethereal and airy tea. This is a darker tea forward smell but not heavy at all. Beautiful cardamom mixed with fresh dark tea and a little spice along with it. This is a masterpiece IMO.

Smells like an anxiety medication, along the lines of valerian root. Totally unwearable ..
