Iris Goddess

I bought the Floral Street Dark sample set and this was a standout one for me. Sometimes you have to buy a sample set in order to find that one scent that you go on to purchase. I only got the 10 ml travel size but I tend to not buy big bottles of perfume in general but I might get a full size bottle down the lane. Very fruity on initial spray. Balmy, cherry-almondy goodness, a bit like Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EdP. (Must be the red berries mixed with suede). Very soon after, maybe after a couple of minutes or so, I get creamy lipstick notes. These are intersected with slight herby-ness, green-y-ness but there are very slight so I might just be imaging them. In the dry-down, the scent is warm and enveloping. There are some notes here that might make it grown-up/old but this fragrance works beautifully on my skin and iris scents agree with me in general. I love that it lingers on clothes, especially things like scarves and jumpers and you still get little wafts of it if you wear the same scarf or jumper a few days later. I'd say it's great for both night and day, I just spray sparingly if I wear it during the day, but would spray lots in the evening. To me, it is kind of in the same family as Narciso Narciso Rodriguez, just really bold and really feminine. I am just worried that if I ever get a full size bottle of Rodriguez, I will go off it quite quickly as it's a lot to handle. My friend whose signature scent is Rodriguez, agrees with me that there are echoes of Rodriguez in this one. The name is a bit cheesy but at the same time, it's spot on - I do feel like a goddess when I wear it and that's what perfume is for.

While I tested out my Floral Street sample kit, I had the thought that they use popular, successful fragrance archetypes and give them their own little twist, instead of creating something completely new. Nothing wrong with that, there are many exclusive and niche lines that do the same for a higher price. This is their version of "lipstick iris" and "fruity leather". It's sweet and waxy with iris, suede and berries as the most dominant notes. Actually the berries smell very much like currants to me. The chili note is not very obvious, only a slight hint of spice. In the drydown there is also some vanilla to soften everything. Iris Goddess smells very good, but reminds me of a lot of other scents: The general structure of Bottega Veneta (like many others said), the iris/currant combo of Atelier Silver Iris, the suede of Lutens Daim Blond and even a hint of the berry sweetness of Lush Comforter bubble bath. It doesn't fill a void in my collection that couldn't be filled by something I love even more, even though it's lovely. Performance is extraordinary, I got whiffs from one spray on my arm all day, it lasts and lasts and lasts. Not for the faint of heart.

I am so impressed by this house. I own three of their perfumes- Iris Goddess, Black Lotus and London Poppy. Firstly the bottles are beautiful. They were also designed so that the darker the background colour of the bottle the darker the fragrance. They are also reasonably priced, £55 for a 50ml bottle, with an option of a travel size 10ml for £20. All the perfumes I have tried from Floral Street really bloom on the skin and I think the lasting power is very good. Floral Street list the following "Key Ingredients" on their site - Lemon Zest, Chilli Pepper, Midnight Violet, Suede Accord, Tuscan Orris, Carrot Seed, Patchouli Fraction, Black Vanilla, Liquid Musks. I love iris perfumes, so knew that this was likely to be a winner for me. It is a beautiful perfume, which I think will please iris lovers and those who are not so obsessed with the note equally. I love the full range of iris, from carroty/rooty dampness to dry/powder. I think this is a beautiful balance of both. The orris and carrot seed are front and centre, with the musk, patchouli and suede adding a plush drydown. I don't detect the chilli pepper, violet or lemon.

I'm a fickle Fragrantican. So, I have sampled a few of these. (4-5) This one oddly brings some spirit up in me. Like I have smelled this in my life many years ago. Deja vu, all over again. It reminds me of the past, which is mostly dead, right? Yeah. It's dusty, powdery dusty.....no decay smell, but the florals here, on me are in a time capsule. They travel back and forward, past and future. Yeah, I can see me wearing this often, if I purchased a FB. A very melancholy aura I sense while wearing this, it is comforting in the most ethereal way. As if a spirit of your past is watching over you, as you catch a glimpse of that spirit out of the corner of your eye, and definitely can inhale their aroma, and this is it. I like the Iris/Violet and powder. It sure is different. Strange how smell really grabs ahold of you, sometimes pulling you into the past, or pushing you into the future. It is a time traveler for sure. If you like dry Iris/Violet and dusty powder do give this one a try. Just for a side note, it's evening, and raining, and the leaves are falling.....and another spritz of Iris Goddess is calling.

Really pretty, powdery, feminine but not in a girly youthful way, more in a elegant dark feminine way! If you like violet and iris you will love this. It's somehow familiar but with a little twist that makes it more unique than most scents with these notes. Lasts really well but it doesnt project a lot. I would say medium sillage. It's witchy and mysthical. This scent creates the best dark feminine imagery in my mind. It forms a little scent bubble around you, those talking to you will notice it but if you walk around it doesnt leave a huge trail or fill up the room. I really, really enjoy this! Edit: i've become adicted to this scent, it works so well with my body chemistry, i'm in love 😍 oficially my favourite from the brand (and thats saying a lot since wild vanilla orchid has been my go to for a while)!

This one has to be experienced through the dry down in order to fully appreciate it. This starts out quite heavy on the violet, which is slightly sugared. A dry iris is there, but I notice the violets more. I find the opening of this rather unoriginal and almost wrote this fragrance off...but I'm glad I kept an open mind. As it dries down the musk and powder accords come out along with very noticeable patchouli. I found it to start out on the feminine side, becoming more unisex (even a bit masculine) as it dries. It deepens quite a bit and the dry-down smells completely different from the opening. Projection and longevity on me were pretty decent, I also received compliments on this long after I put it on...so it must have a fair amount of projection. I'm so glad that I gave this one a chance!

A great scent! I did get the iris first but then it faded a bit and then chilli, powder and fruit notes came much more to the fore. It settles and then all four notes seem as strong as each other. It now reminds me of a certain L'artisan fragrance although it has a tad more iris and powder. It's cool and not overly sweet. You need to enjoy powdery notes to really love this. I certainly do. I have to say though that I wish the iris had hung around a lot longer. It doesn't smell old lady at all. It's feminine and womanly. Yes modern. For the woman who delights in her femininity yet is strong. You can easily imagine your Partner nuzzling into your shoulder and saying "You smell goood". Yep fellas like this! Moderate longevity and sillage.

A strong, dense, powdery scent. Often, vegan powdery fragrances are delicate and have poor longevity and projection, but not in this case! I also get a lot of associations with a vintage vanity table adorned with powder brushes, a makeup bag, and high-quality cosmetics from years past. Usually, I can’t stand leathery notes in perfumes, but the suede in this composition doesn’t bother me at all, and I think it’s what adds strength to the scent. Iris Goddess has a rather cool and slightly aloof character. It was love at first sniff, and I’ll definitely be buying another bottle when it runs out.

Iris Goddess is absolutely delightful! It is full of life, doesn't have this minor, self-absorbing moods that irises often bring by their presence. This iris is cheerful, not snobby, but powdery-energetic, bursting with positive attitude and happiness. I admire sweet suede in this juice, it is so intense and long-lasting on me! Along with Chypre Sublime, Iris Goddess is my favourite fragrance from Floral Street, they both are very impressive perfume-works, bravo, Jerome Epinette!

Gorgeous crisp citrus meets subtle floral powders and musk. It is crisp yet sultry and inviting, softened by the vanilla, musk, and remarkable floral scent. It isn’t too girly or headache-inducing. It’s the perfect blend for those looking for a unique floral perfume. I think men would be able to layer this well. It reminds me so much of Bottega Venetta, a perfume I absolutely adore for the workplace and never thought I’d find anything similar! Love. It.

This is a warm, rich, slightly spicy fragrance. It’s a perfect date night scent. It’s a unique fruity floral that is the perfect blend of sweet and dark. The projection is good, but not overwhelming. The staying power is great. If you don’t shower at night, you will be smelling this the next morning. It almost wraps around you, like the perfect sweater. I absolutely loves this scent. It was my favorite in the dark discovery pack.

Packs a big punch! This is NOT a wallflower iris. I love how it fills a room, and even more, I love how it smells in the morning. A ghostly version lingering...and knowing it stayed with me to keep me safe in the dark. If you REALLY want to wear this wonderful scent - there's a body lotion. Layer up and float through the day knowing you smell amazing.

I was given a sample set for Christmas years ago. This was the one I liked the most, even more so than Neon Rose. This fragrance makes me think of purple velvet and powdery aniseed. It leaves a nice scent bubble around me and I feel a bit witchy in a good way. Powdery in the way that I like, casting a lovely scent around the wearer.

Love it very similar to misia Chanel but prefer this better vey make up compact powder.bought 10ml should have get the 50ml one

I have Chenne violette from Mad et Len and it is the same vibe i get violette from Iris Goddes

This a brilliant and underrated iris at a great price. Long may she live.

I'm apparently on a quest to smell every fragrance that's ever been compared to the original Bottega Veneta, one of my all time faves. Most are too sweet and cloying, probably because they skimp on the suede that serves to balance out Bottega Veneta so nicely. Iris Goddess initially struck me the same way - too sweet, too cloying, not enough suede - but now that it's dried down I think? it might? be the closest BV "clone" so far? It's lighter than BV, and the suede note is more subdued, but it's not overwhelmed by sweetness the way so many others are. I have two bottles of BV so I'm not actually looking for a replacement right now, but if BV were impossible to find, I would actually be happy with Iris Goddess as an alternative. PS - I suspect the lower rating is because Floral Street is a bit more of an easily accessible brand, and this is not an easily accessible scent profile, so I can see how those looking for something gourmand or fruity might think this is very strange, but if you know you know.

Oooh, this was again unexpected, much like the rest of Floral Street's scents. Initial spray is a dark, rich, intoxicating, medicinal smell. It's a shock! This settles down quickly to just be violets (that lipstick / powder smell), powdery notes, the carrot seeds, suede and finally very light musk. It's such a contrast from the opening! The initial blast is a little headache-inducing but gone swiftly. The dry down reminds me of the smell of those little bean bags that we had at primary school that people learnt to throw with. They smell exactly like the dry down! It's odd but I like it, I'd wear it, I think it's a slightly spicy, comforting, clean smell. I also think this is perfectly unisex, neither feminine nor masculine but slap bang in the middle. Projection is strong initially but short lived, the scent does linger for 6+ hours though. This is a definite like.

For some reason, this smells shockingly similar to one of the purple pinkish Lush bathbombs that I can’t remember the name of?? The fragrance is sweet, powdery and slightly tart like sherbet candies. There’s this fizzy freshness of the lemon zest in the opening which mellows a little in the dry down. Maybe my Skin chemistry is a little weird but I don’t get dusty, vintage or dark from this.. to me the fragrance is quite lively with the tartness, it’s indiscernibly fruity/floral sweet yet the powderiness tones it down to a sensible level. It’s not something I’d personally wear but overall quite pleasant! I’m not too familiar with iris scents either, but even I can say this one isn’t very iris like the name would suggest.. maybe more of a violet forward scent?

Floral Street’s fragrance naming doesn’t always hit the mark, I find. I was apprehensive to sample this, as I’m not an iris lover. Imagine my pleasant surprise to find that this is a violet-y musk scent, which I am a fan of. It doesn’t last particularly long on my skin - I’ve resprayed a lot through the day and have used the full sample vial to keep the scent going. In fact, it’s bringing on a slight headache so I’ve definitely overdone it (chronic oversprayer reaches limit - shock!). A very nice perfume - not quite enough of a love for me to buy a full bottle, but I would consider it in the future when I’ve worked through some of my existing collection.

My perfect starchy iris. For all the other powder lovers like me, you know there are baby powder scents of all varieties, but then there is a dense, starchy, clay-like feeling you get from some scents, and this is it and it’s heaven. You can get lost in it. Smells like The Harmonists Royal Earth but lasts more than 30 seconds. The pepper and berries work like a clearing bell, just subtly vibrating underneath, creating some nuance and interest. More spice than fruit though. My only complaint is the bottle, I would prefer something more minimalist.

I like this a lot more than I expected to, I thought it would be a bit cheap and flowery but it's really rooty and earthy in a great way, not sour but not too sweet. It isn't overpowering and sits close to the skin, I dont get the resemblance to bv at all. It's definitely one of those that you catch while you're out at work or in a shop and you think 'oh that's nice, what is it, oh it's me!!' A surprise pleasure in my quest to tour as many iris scents as I can get my nose on!

this is one of those papery/carrot seed iris perfumes at first. i get that along with iris, violet, suede and a hint of sweetness from the red fruits as well as a piquant/slightly sour and tart note with the chili pepper. it's pretty odd at first but once it dries down it smells very similar to bottega veneta and rogue. but i already have BV and prefer it. however, this is a good similar scent but with a rougher beginning and slightly more sweetness and less florals.

Very nice! I really get the fruity notes, then the iris & suede. It’s not powdery to me personally, which is good. It’s unique & sexy. Very feminine in my opinion. It’s dark & sultry. I think it can really be a chameleon that completes a lot of different people’s vibes. I can imagine it with a sophisticated vibe, a “vampy” vibe, but I can also imagine the right person making it a “sexy hippie” scent.

I feel this is more Violet Goddess than Iris Goddess. It's mostly a sweet candied violet, powdery, with some nuances of sweet red fruits in sticky syrup. I like it, but have definitely smelled it before, maybe in Nanette Lepore (but this one smells better quality). I especially like how the vanilla comes out in the drydown, delicious!

For a perfume with Iris in the name, the iris note is very subtle on my skin. Instead, I primarily smell Violet - not too candyish like Palma Violet sweets, but with a hint of freshness and a very slight warmth and powdery note. I like it, but it's definitely not what I expected from the name.

I quite like this. It's a vintage powdery smell. Reminds me of the smell of a library with well preserved books, the pages smell beautiful I'm assuming because they were used to press dried flowers. I really like it but probably wont buy a big bottle because it sadly does not last

I generally steer clear of anything with iris in the name, but I like Floral Street frags and gave it a go--and it's a winner. Powdery violet buoyed by brightness and energy, this feels youthful and nowhere near anything from Grandma's dresser.

This one is powdery, but not like baby powder, more like boudoir or powdery lipstick. There is also a sweetness from the violets. I like this one and will enjoy my sample till it runs out but I don't plan to buy a full bottle.

Out of all the fragrances I wear, this is my partner's favourite, he likes it even more than I do!

This was a 'stocking stuffer' gift received either Christmas of 2021 or 2022. BV was such a love and this surely tapped into something quite similar. The quality itself was never expected to be a 1:1 but it was agreeable enough. Easy to reach for, easy to apply immediately after stepping out of a soak in the tub--it got the job done, so to speak. Well, that is no longer the case and, frankly, I find myself less and less satisfied with its presence. Still is quite inoffensively pretty, to be fair. The notes I get today are the same or even a bit more amplified than they were from several years ago. Performance is the same, if not better... ugh, it is just all so confusing. It just exists. A bit blandly, a bit gloomy, a bit annoyingly. Gave the last bit of it away to a neighbor who finds it works well as a toilet/bathroom spray.

Something was stopping me from loving this and seeing the notes I realise why. Iris is pretty much the only floral note I know I will instantly love and I definitely love it here but that lemon note is not my favourite, you can definitely smell it from the jump. The pink pepper is a nice mix, it keeps things more interesting with a slight spiciness but Iris is definitely the dominate note here (unsurprisingly). If you like florals you'll like this but I think this is a bit too floral for me, I would need something else to tone it down or mix it with to feel more comfortable wearing it because it gets bit soapy smelling, almost like the sweets parma violets.

Overall, this is a very nice powdery purple floral. I feel like I did pick up on some lemon zesty freshness in the opening. But that doesn't last very long before the purple florals start to take over. On paper it was more of a comforting feminine vibe but it sadly didn't translate that way on skin. On my skin I get more of an earthy quality as it dries down- maybe the suede or carrot seeds? After the 2-3 hour mark, there is more of a sweet berry aspect that does give a candied floral effect. But by then it's more of an intimate projection. This is a mainly intimate/soft scent that lasted about 5-6 hours on my skin overall.

This scent is... quite strange. At first spray, it's sharp and a bit nose-burning. Then almost straight away, it's a sweet (very) powdery floral and then when it dries down, it's super powdery, softly spicy and a bit leathery. I really like the scent but not necessarily as a perfume. It reminds me of a cozy blanket or a fall/winter scented candle (or a fancy car interior cleaner haha..) Decent longevity - I can still smell it after 3-4 hours. I only have a sample, but I don't think I would buy a full bottle. If they brought out a candle in this scent, I would probably buy that :)

I have dozens of old growth irises in my yard. This doesn't smell like my irises, but this is a soliflore of someone's irises. Starts a bit strong, fades fast but keeps a smoother trail, not quite a skin scent 4 hours later. If you know the powderiness of irises you know the dry down of this scent. If you don't maybe grab a bouquet of them before buying this. It's not for everyone. I'm not getting the grab bag of other notes they have in the breakdown. To my nose the accords are more accurate. It's iris and the powderiness of irises.

Iris Godess is a dark horse indeed. She is no waif or wall flower. She is queen of the night. This perfume is sweet, powdery and dense. It may make you slightly queezy possibly from the suede which is coming across a bit musty😂.Not good for church or office but good for the bar and a night out. This perfume felt a bit meloncholy to me. The type of feels when its 1 am and your still watching Netflix in the dark but know you should be asleep already. You feel a bit lonely and desperate as the night is slipping away.....

This is a dark mysterious fragrance which is heavy on the Iris. The one thing that ruined for me was the suede note. Suede in a fragrance can make it flat & dense. Also one of the notes is Husk!😳 No really husk!! This fragrance really needs a bit of a lift off the ground. Think its a tad too dark, murky and dense for my liking. This is NOT a safe blind buy and halfway gave me a headache.

I do love this. Dark and sexy with a bit of sweetness. Great to wear on warm evenings. It is always a compliment getter for me. Unfortunately for me it simply doesn't last on my skin. If I spray it on my clothes it lasts forever but that's definitely not ideal.

this feels like nothing but violet. and a soft one i must say, on my skin it disappears quickly...

Smells like chalky sweets at the bottom of your grandma's bag and a little bit spicy

A very peppery spicy scent, would not get if you are after a delicate fragrance

I have been liking powdery iris scents recently and have sampled quite a few, this being one of the worst so far. It does have a lipstick/makeup powder feel to it, but imagine finding some old lipsticks from the 80's in the attic in a random box, imagine those kind of lipsticks rather than your brand new L'Oreal. Maybe it's just me though, this entire makeup vibe is very hit or miss for me, but Guerlain and Narciso Rodriguez are a completely different league to this with their powdery perfumes, and that's just naming 2. P.S. It doesn't help my opinion that the brand Floral Street (similar to Novellista) is constantly shoved in my face at online shops whenever I'm trying to buy something completely unrelated.

I have tried this one a couple of times now and I think this one just doesn't work on my skin chemistry as I am usually a fan of iris notes. It opens with a super floral blast for me and which I find very cloying although the dry down is much pleasanter. I don't think I have ever come across a chilli pepper accord in a fragrance before and I cannot detect any "spicy" in this fragrance. I am not sure if it's the suede or the carrot seed note that doesn't agree with me I have yet to find a fragrance I like with this accord. It's a no from me for this one but I've finished the sample. I have more to try from this house!

Not for me. I wouldn't call it offensive, but it's not my taste and not the type of iris scent I enjoy. Smelling this made me realise that I only like iris in combination with citrus - so a fresh, soapy showery clean vibe. Sweet powdery iris... not so much. This smells very similar to pubs in Australia. Not the alcohol, it's the stuff they use to wash/perfume the carpet, and pubs just reek of it. I will say this is very long-lasting, so if you like the scent then it's probably worth buying.

this was dreadful on me. I enjoy vintage powdery violet scents so it’s not the issue that I bought something I was doomed to dislike. I love violets, powder and sometimes iris generally. this was murky, dusty and downright disturbing. I’m all for unusual scents and glad this works for others, and I did love the bottle, but definitely sold it.

Alright, powdery iris scents and I are just not meant to be friends. I get the strangest ghost notes from these types of scents. Iris goddess smells like stale hairspray and crinkly cellophane. It smells like an unshowered tarot card reader in a dimly lit room.

This is a less harsh version of Pourpre d'Automne by Maison Violet, but it's still very heavy and very, very powdery. Not the baby powder kind, but "your grandma's make-up that expired 30 years ago, but she refuses to throw it away" kind.

Looks good on paper, but is quite yucky when you actually smell it. Its definitely powdery, but not in a nice makeup/baby powder way. The powdery note comes across more like a tablet to me. I used to take these horrible magnesium tablets and this smell is weirdly reminiscent of the aftertaste of those. I actually blind bought a 10mL of it today (because Iris Goddess and London Poppy are not included in the Floral Street sample set for some unforseen reason), and I hate it so thoroughly that I'll be going back to Mecca and pretending that I picked up the wrong tube by accident. I'll get myself something I actually like this time (Black Lotus or Ylang Ylang Espresso)

Nicer than Sweet Almond Blossom and I say that because it's smells like a toned-down version but it still smells like kids' shampoo
