A few years ago, I was talking to an Englishman at work and I couldn't help smelling the perfume he was wearing. The pleasant aroma of freshness and joy reached me little by little. unable to resist, I asked him what perfume it was. He had to ask his wife, since she bought him that perfume. it was Floris by London in 1976 People compare it to Aventus, and they are right to compare it to it, but the scent of birch and lavender changes everything. This perfume is more gentlemanly than Aventus. It's not sweet and it's not an in-your-face perfume. He is more like a gentleman in a suit, who takes care of himself, who has money and who has a hidden gun with him. This perfume is Jaguar, while Aventus is Ferrari. Everyone has their own taste, I prefer old school. This perfume smells more like summer rain, like the first espresso, like the first love... it smells like new, a new beginning... a very optimistic perfume and I experimented with it for a week and every day I put it on my arm and measured its longevity and notes ... those were good days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7/10 Perfume performance - as far as performance goes, this is not a beast of a perfume. It is a more polished and very nicely put together perfume, which is able to surprise and appear even after 8 hours after application, even when you forget about care. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 8/10 Perfume rating - People are noticing and I have been getting compliments on this perfume. It is extremely beautiful to me and when I want to raise my energy, I use this perfume. One of the perfumes that are always in my collection.

Floris is very underrated company. And 1976 is one its latest gems flying under the radar of most fragheadz. It indeed has quite some in common with Aventus, especially Aventus' less juicy and more smokier batches. Think of it as Aventus' first cousin who was sent to British boarding school. Although introvert and man of few words, this distinguished gentleman makes himself noted and respected by any crowd in any situation. This is ridiculously safe scent. It would be barely possible to offend with it anyone, ever person wanting to be offended. Taking into consideration how well it projects and how long it lasts (9-10 hours in Winter and Summer, 11-12 in Spring and Fall) it is quite unique creation, because most of soft agreeable scents doesn't perform well. 1976 is also super versatile - it is perfect for any time of year, any occasion and any outfit. If you running out of your Aventus and not sure if you want to buy another bottle, or if you looking for office (or any type of workplace) safe and classy fragrance give 1976 a try, it is definitely full bottle worthy at $100-150 current price range at discount retailers.

I did not planned to write a review about another Aventus/Aventus Cologne similar fragrance but Floris did here a better job than just copying the popular scent DNAs. This is a perfume which will start very smoky with this Birch, so famously present in all the possible Aventus talks. There is no pineapple or extreme citrussy character to it when you spray it at first, and will keep a gentleman like profile .. this is not your party fragrance, but also not the conservative No. 89 type of lavender old school barbershop style. I sprayed twice on my forearm and now hoping for the best, but about 20min in dry down I can sense that it has a better projection than my reviewed Aventus 2021 Batch and in scent it is more similar to the Cologne version than the OG. For the price, the presentation and the heritage of Floris .. this is a steal and I like that it has its own idea of what a fruity, summery scent should be. The combo of Birch and Lavender makes it unique in its own British way and I will enjoy my bottle to the last drop. Top release from Floris !

1976 (and 1962) by Floris is a really great example of a modern twist on a classic, dapper scent. It's well blended. I couldn't really recognise the individual notes due to how everything blends together, but get a kind of spicey/peppery apple cider/juniper scent. The pepper note reminds me more of Viking than Aventus. The projection is mild, but last for most of the day on me. I could see myself wearing this in a polo shirt all the way up to a suit. This is more of an after-work scent for me due to the floral/spice note. This feels unisex because the floral and lavender elements give a feminine feel, but can certainly get away with it as a man due to woodiness and pepperiness of it too. My girlfriend keeps complimenting me on it when I wear it. The fact this isn't hyped on Youtube is a reflection of the Floris Fragrance Diary line being relatively hard to obtain and not well marketed internationally. I'm certain that if this was called 'Tom Ford London Birch Special Collection', it would have been very successful (likewise with Floris' 1962).

A surprising gem from Floris, a house that makes very old school and austere perfumes. This one, however, is very light, classy but modern and very safe and likable. Imagine Creed Aventus without fruity notes and without vanilla and ambregris. Birch leaves, juniper, pepper, lavender and vetiver are 5 key notes here. That will give you an idea. The closest fragrance to this one, IMO, is Frapin's Orchid Man: not the same notes but very similar vibe with a better performance. Longevity is average for a perfume, projection is sightly below average but the scent is exquisite! Great for office and casual day wear, could be worn year round but spring and fall are best for it. Unisex but masculine leaning. Overall, my favorite from Floris, must try if you like this type of scents.

Really enjoying this one. My 4th Floris fragrance and have to say I am liking each of them. 1976 is an interesting fragrance and I do not think it smells like anything else that I own. People give mixed reactions when I wear it with some people really liking it to others who aren't all that impressed with it. I still like it. 7.7/10

since 1976 is my birth year I was curious and I have to say: I love it very fresh modern vs old school makes me feel posh :)

Floris 1976 is a pleasant citrus/floral blend that neither offends nor dazzles, a nice light wear that doesn't perform anywhere in the vicinity as good as Honey Oud, for one. I get mainly a mix of bergamot, lemon, black pepper, jasmine, and lavender. I really don't get any patchouli or vetiver at all--there's not much earthiness underneath the lighter opening. Performance is surprisingly fleeting after trying Honey Oud, which is strong, but Honey Oud and Leather Oud seem to be the exception not the rule on both price and performance. Definitely an agreeable unisex light scent best suited for warm weather wearing but also definitely not one I'd buy at the full retail price of $190 for 100ml (cheaper than Honey Oud at $235, though). Perhaps if this becomes cheaper in a few years on the secondary market, I'll revisit it, as many Floris fragrances are under $100 on FragranceX, at least. 7 out of 10

It appears Floris has now discontinued their entire Fragrance Chronicles collection as 1976, 1988 & 1927 are no longer listed on their UK website, joining 1962 which has been gone for several months now. I noticed with all of this line, wearing 1976 today btw, the longevity is impressive even if they're not overpowering at any point. It's been 8 hours & I'm still detecting it regularly. Surely after this much time a degree of olfactory fatigue has set in. The scent is pleasant, masculine in a non-traditional way. You'd swear there's pineapple in there but I believe it's a combo of the birch, lavender & pepper creating that accord. This is a good one even though it's way outside of my usual comfort zone of old-school greens. I think that says something to others wondering if they may like this one.

I can't say I don't like this fragrance because there is nothing unpleasant about it. I does come off as yet another Aventus clone though, and while it's not bad I don't want to smell like every other guy in the city. Performance is okay in warm weather albeit soft. In cooler weather though it was very hard to pick it out even after 3 hours or so. Despite this being fairly easy to come by discounted it's a pass from me. Floris is a house I have time for though this is not one of their better efforts.

A more syrupy less dark and woody Aventus. Mmm, I think better and more mature for that matter. If you want a better Aventus Copy you have Nishane Hacivat. Maybe a bit of lavender peeping through. Almost sweet desert wine like... Not super strong, need to confirm longevity. A winner for me at the right price and I think I’d convert this to a FB if I didn’t have a bottle of Aventus and Hacivat...

Currently wearing this as a sample from Floris. I do get that Aventus vibe from it and it does give off the quality of a Floris fragrance. Unfortunately I don’t get that much longevity from it, I applied it around 8am and by lunchtime I was struggling to find any hint of it. A fragrance with a fantastic scent but it needs better performance for me to justify a full bottle purchase.

a competently done, more easy going aventus clone; a statement not intended in a pejorative sense. This is pleasant, well composed, effortlessly wearable. Underrated AF.

This one is so sharp and loud. Out of my husband's age range. This is for the young crowd, they like this aggressive stuff.

Another take on "Aventus" by Creed.

This is a nice take of Aventus vibe into more citrusy and spicy accord but at the same time it is less fruity and less smoky than Aventus . It lacks this pleasant crispy fruity touch that Aventus had and also the elegant and attractive freshy clean ambergris of Aventus However it good summer freshy scent with less than average performance For the price I think it’s not bad Score 5 out of 10

This is what Aventus for her should of been! Smells like 60% Aventus with a heavy lavender and bright notes alot cleaner and feminine than Aventus - but this is a gem inits own rights! This is almost identical to Zara Vibrant Leather but VL is more woodsy than this one! worth a buy - you may fall in love or you may feel like its not what you expected! Personally I've grown to like it!

Initial impression got me like wow it smells like aventus, bit floral and more vetivery compared to aventus.. But in like 15-20 mins it fades down quite a bit and the aventus vibe slowly starts to disappear leaving you with that birch-musk note on a lime undertone. longevity is good but it becomes a skin scent in an hour or so.

For me, this is similar to cedrat boise which is made a little feminine, fruity floral.
