Golden Amber

I am so in love! This must be my new favourite addition to my collection. Very smooth, well blended, timeless, classy fragrance. In the sweeter side, but still completely unisex ( who even genders scents anyways). I agree that it resembles Wilde, but golden amber is more elevated and less botanical. Got my hands on a collection of samples from the brand, curious to test more.

Ambry figs & powdered almonds... I kind of as well get a latex rubbery note in here beside the minor touch of figs with tonka beans & powdered almonds on dry amber. I remember i have sniffed this blend before but i never liked it like i am liking it now while testing it! It kind of reminds me of "Dzongkha" by Penhaligon's & honestly, i think i really like this one allot! although figs isn't a note that i like! but this blend is beautiful indeed.

Big geranium wants you to know this is it. I get a lot of geranium from the dry down of this, and I know the notes say bergamot and neroli but the opener is citronella if ever I've smelled it. This takes me back to the late spring early summer days when I worked in a garden center, very pleasant scent.

Launched in late August 2024, or rather re-launched, having been introduced as an in-store limited edition in 2021. Not sure if there’s much difference in the formulation, although you might expect a few compromises when scaling up production. With one spray on each wrist... It opens with a blast of fig, a bit like a nice pot-pourri. After a few minutes it settles to a rather fresh/aquatic scent, reminding me a bit of Wilde, which was released earlier this year. There’s a cooling, almost menthol-like sensation at times. More floral after 5-10 minutes, mostly neroli, not getting too much rose. Then becomes more woody and more of the patchouli comes out. After an hour it feels like it’s settled down and not particularly noticeable from then on. Not terribly strong projection, although few from Floris are. It’s more of a warm cosy cloud of scent that lingers pretty close to the skin. Perhaps it just needs a bit more than 2 sprays to get going. While marketed as unisex, I’d say it leans a bit feminine, or at least towards the denser more-classic feminine fragrances. Comparing to others from Floris, it’s nowhere near as potent as say Edwardian Bouquet, not as bright as Soulle Ambar... a bit more like a mix of Chypress and Special no.127. Overall, it’s fine but nothing too special. I picked up a 10ml bottle and I imagine this will last quite a while. I currently own about 20 Floris fragrances and this one ranks fairly close to the bottom for me. Let's see if it gets better with time.

Horrible. And immediate scrubber. Almond blossom and neroli together are not a good idea. Not at all an amber fragrance either, even if you suffer through the first 30 minutes or so waiting for it to grow. 30 minutes is the longest I've waited before scrubbing it off and trying to cover the traces with a Montale aoud bomb of some type. Another of the perils of what used to be well known perfume brands not being available in stores anymore. I would never have bought even this little 5ml spray bottle if I'd been able to smell it first in a store.
