Jermyn Street

I'll start by saying that if you are the type of person that has nothing to say but says it too loud, MOVE ON! However, if you are someone who likes to contemplate before a response or knows they can handle any situation with a quiet self assurance but still knows when to stand up and be counted, you'll understand and appreciate Jermyn street. The initial burst of freshness is quite sublime. Vetiver of course, which permeates throughout the whole life of the scent is joined by a delicate citrus and what I perceived to be juniper. It's really quite detectable after a few moments without ever feeling heavy, it's aromatic, zingy and effervescent making you feel energised, alive and fresh. This opening prevails at arms length for 60-90 mins. As touched on, the vetiver is the scents spine but the citrus dials back a touch to be complimented by a gorgeously delicate violet note. Perfectly matched and very fitting for this scent. This is then joined shortly after by a gentle woodsy note that stays until the end. This stage again lasts around an hour and a half to two hours becoming progressively closer, eventually becoming a skin scent that you will only detect personally for another few hours. It leaves a reasonable trail for several hours, enough for others to notice the uplifting brightness. Definitely for people of either sex who appreciate subtlety and know that restraint is actually a good quality! A person who understands that strength is so much more than kicking in a door! Knowing that true strength comes from discipline and determination, rarely a quick fix. Certainly an older man or womens fragrance, say 30+ and a little cultured. You've probably never watched a trashy, reality TV dating show or rushed out to buy the latest fashions that are gone in a week. 😆. Easily wearable all year and can be dressed up or down to any occasion, it's works just as well when out for dinner as it does pottering about in the garden. It's very easy going but makes a statement, simply by its smooth blend and gentle quality. If you like the Floris house and understand their premise, you will undoubtedly enjoy this, especially in the warmer months or when you feel like you need a mental lift. Floris No.89, amongst a few others is amongst my favourites of all time, this scent isn't far off the list. It may well move up over time, especially over the coming summer. One more thing, it's a little stronger than you think. At the start you may spray at least several times and not think it's particularly prevalent, it is! After 5 minutes or so it seems to acclimatise and become more stronger as it lifts off of your skin. Others can detect it in a reasonably enclosed space, especially if you are in motion. If you'd like an everyday, elegant and modern-classic offering, this may well be for you.

One of my favorites from the storied (and still independent) British house of Floris. If you are exploring the house I can assure you that 95% of them are not "beast mode" strong by today's standard. This house is about elegance and sometimes that's more appropriate for a person with a career and confidence that doesn't want or need their fragrance to shout (this is one of the reasons businesses ban fragrances) across an office building. The scent itself is a very clean but also an interesting and original blend of primarily juniper, vetiver, artemesia over musk with an ever present undercurrent of violet. It's smooth as silk and feels very polished and put together. I truly think this can be worn in any weather and dressed up (except maybe black tie) or worn casual. I don't like gobs of voilet but it's perfectly harmonious here. I plan to add this to my permanent collection at some point as I've gotten every other Floris I've owned for great prices on the gray or secondary market. Amazing perfume, absolutely top notch! This is what Floris stands for in the modern age, this is like 89 today. Not that they smell alike, but it’s the same idea: creating a fragrance that’s elegant, understated, classy and extremely british in character. It’s green, it’s fresh, it has very nuanced fine citrus notes, all tied together by that crispy clean bright vetiver which runs through the composition. The vetiver here is super clean & bright, don’t expect much earthiness or “dirt”. Also don’t expect anything loud or bold, or very niche smelling from this house, what Floris does is, they take rather well known aromas and accords and make them more nuanced, better and add that extra “britishness” to them. I never had longevity issues with any of their fragrances, i think a lot of people mistake the conservative, rather discreet character of their perfumes for poor performance. PS. Am i the only one who’s slightly reminded of GIT/cool water? This could easily be a more greener, more natural smelling flanker to GIT from which all the aquatic notes were taken away and instead more citrus & greens were added in.

Those who have a broader breadth of experience with scents than myself, especially in regards to unisex or masculine florals, may admittedly find this scent underwhelming. I'm seeing a lot of reviews that say it smells like a generic, straightforward, or or otherwise unremarkable cologne; I don't think I have enough experience sampling fragrances yet to dispute their opinions. However, as someone who enjoys scents that are unisex or skew masculine, and who struggles to find florals that don't seem very perfume-ish or overly sweet (whether by default or with my body chemistry) Jermyn Street has been a delight. It's an incredibly pleasant scent that leans masculine while remaining light and delicate. Though I imagine it'll become a spring months scent for me, since I prefer more citrus for the summer heat, I've been enjoying wearing it around the house during the colder months as a little pick me up. It makes me want to try more artemisia scents.

This is a BEAUTIFUL vetiver fragrance and one that probably is a better fit for those of us who have a few extra trips round the sun under our belts. This frag exudes class and sophistication. The bergamot hangs around for a while and the woody base gives this a wonderful polished smoothness. Perhaps best suited for more formal occasions but I think some of us can pull this off as a signature scent and even as a casual summer frag. I think this is over-priced at full retail but if you can find it at a discounter, it's probably a safe buy if you like vetiver. For those for whom it matters, the presentation is pretty nice. Inside the outer cardboard box is another box with a magnetic lid and bottle sits securely in a cutout space. When you open the lid, the back side has a couple of paragraphs about the inspiration for the fragrance.

On my first trip to London in 2012, I stumbled upon a small perfumery claiming nearly 300 years of history, and I was instantly spellbound by its fragrances. That was the day I bought Jermyn Street for the first time, without knowing it would become one of the quiet pillars of my collection. I’ve tried many Floris perfumes since then, but I can’t imagine my shelf without this one. Now that I’ve purchased my third bottle, I finally decided to write this review, even though part of me always wanted to keep it as my hidden gem. I had missed it more than I realized. It’s incredibly easy to reach for; it suits any moment, any mood, and it never fails to lift my spirits. And while it carries the polished air of a classic cologne, it never feels dated—just gracefully elegant, timeless without ever feeling old.

This is very easy to wear and very pleasant. Great summer office scent. Can be dressed up or down but does have a gentlemanly feel. A touch of citrus and floral notes upfront. Vetiver is clean and present throughout. There are some spicy and musky notes on dry down that persist. Not pungent. Performance better on my skin than most here. I get solid projection for 6-8 hours (liked by others) and I can still find it on my wrist the morning after application. I love No. 89, (it was an early fragrance purchase for me) and they are not that similar, but this is a more versatile scent. More depth and heart to it. No. 89 is a great morning fresh scent but this one gets me through the day. This is the first of a dozen Floris samples I’m now even more eager to experience.

One of my faves! I get excellent performance in every season except winter. I find it interesting to see how others have voted as I get a lot of violet early & amber late but it’s not dominated by any of the notes. It’s green first & foremost but it’s a powdery & ambery green. It does indeed have vetiver at every level but according to Floris website it’s “green vetiver” in the top so I take it to be vetiver grass while vetiver root supports the heart & is present in the base. This isn’t a vetiver dominant fragrance as the notes suggest. Perhaps sampling this would be a pleasant surprise for fans of old school greens.

Absolutely love this fragrance. Citrus and fresh scents are my thing, and this is up there with the best of them. The opening is fantastic. As with most citrus scents, the problem is the performance. It pretty much stays a skin scent on me from the moment of spraying it. And then lasts around 4-5 hours before disappearing completely. I would be interested to know why fresh scents tend to perform so badly. Such a shame. Anyway this is worth buying even with the performance issues, because the smell is gorgeous, even if you're the only one appreciating it.

Floris Jermyn Street captures a kind of masculinity that's become increasingly rare. Fresh citrus and cool juniper glide over the skin before giving way to polished woods and earthy vetiver, creating an aura that is as intimate as it is refined. It doesn't smell manufactured or performative - it smells like a man who has nothing to prove. Equal parts elegance and quiet strength, Jermyn Street is effortlessly sensual, leaving an impression that feels less like a fragrance and more like a memory.

Even though it’s stated as being unisex I feel this is very much a masculine scent. I think a certain type of woman call pull it off but sadly that isn’t me. However it’s a fragrance I would definitely gift to a male partner. It’s sexy, it’s elegant, it’s mature but not stuffy. Very earthy and woody but with a freshness cutting through.

This is how you do a Vetiver. Period. Lost my edt of Chanel's Sycamore (Vetiver). Sycamore Edp was a disappointment in terms of intense aromatic experience of the edt. Jermyn Street replaced this loss. Unisex through and through. Wear it on a hot day to understand its uniqueness. Zingy Citrus, aromatic slightly spicy freshness.

It is not a very linear experience. Takes some time to get to know it. I love it because I am sucker for old scents. It smells classy, I associate it with a room full of old school furniture, a bottle of rum and not a single care in the world. Smells refined, well blended, makes you think about the ‘good old days’

someone has put it very perfectly in the reviews, "Fresh yet punchy" has a bit of an old school aftershave vibe to it too. Not very unique, but not forgettable either. It's something a rich, retired army guy would smell like.

The initial hit is citrus with a complexity which justifies the high price tag. This is a really classy fragrance that avoids following current trends. It's distinctive, different and a delight to wear.

It’s the mugwort that gives this a nod to manly concoctions of yore and yet the other notes to a timeless future. A proper signature.10/10.

It’s a gentlemanly and classy scent. I enjoy the citrus up top with the nice violet and soft, clean vetiver. It’s easy to wear.

It may be unisex, but definitely leaning to the masculine side - a very classy "gentleman's" fragrance, fitting perfectly for spring and summer. Opening kinda fresh with vetiver, bergamot, spices and juniper and drying down to a gorgeous and discrete woody amber that must be part of the "armoise". When I went to the page of this scent on Fragrantica, I was quite surprised to see it "remind me of" Bronnley Original, which I never thought of though I own the Bronnley. For the fun of it, I did a comparison with Floris on my left arm and Bronnley on my right - and I stand corrected. Though they don't smell exactly the same, they give of the same kind of vibe. The Bronnley is sweeter and lacks the exceptionally wellcomposed drydown of Jermyn St. (but to be fair it is also much cheaper in retail), whereas the Floris is longer lasting and has that "last finish" that makes it even more superior. Overall an excellent scent I would recommend most people, though the high retail price may fend off some potential customers.

Beautiful understated opening of citrus and juniper berries which fades quickly revealing a powdered violet leaf note. The notes and spicing is so delicate, coriander seed and vetiver amongst the careful blended concerto which makes up this masculine aromatic fragrance. The overbearing vibe I get from Jermyn street is not one of a citrus vetiver or even a floral aromatic, it's more like Knise Ten. That thing people refer to as leather and kinda is, that is what I get from this except instead of orange blossom like in Creed Royal English leather for example, it's replaced with a very toned down violet. Jermyn street is extremely light in the sense of an eau de Cologne type fragrance and the unfortunate sense that it doesn't last all that long. Still, like the well blended traditional offerings of Penhaligon's and Floris I just can't fault the majority of what they do.

To my nose it’s masculine leaning fresh in the opening and it stays fresh for a little while then the dark vetiver dampens the scent to an extent I felt there was a floral or green aspect that was strange to me and I think it’s the artemisia note A good fragrance especially for masculine audiences you get a hint of the Fahrenheit line by Dior not very close to it but you will definitely remember the line I thought it was a good fragrance but not exquisite enough to be placed in the wall of fame
