Mulberry Fig

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" Pretty much. So, I've bought 4 fragrances (Mulberry Fig, Dia Man, Vétiver Bourbon, Fougère Emeraude) within the last for 4 days. It may have been 5 (Montabaco Rio) if a certain place was not closed over the weekend. Or I may have stopped at 2 given that one's price. Who knows. Oh, and stay tuned to my impression on those if you're curious. Anyhow, this one here... Man. This one here.. BIG win. I've been wanting this fragrance ever since it launched but at first couldn't find it in the US and then, when it was available, I (justly) convinced myself that I did not need it and that I had what I wanted in Wūlóng Chá. However, calculate boredom with obsession and a person can convince themselves to do all type of nonsense. But I digress... What I get from this is Fico di Amalfi + Fleur de Peau + Amyris Homme, with sandalwood, vetiver, coconut and a very powdery dry amber especially pronounced on the dry down. This is simultaneously one of the best fig, sandalwood, iris, coconut, vetiver and amber scents I've smelled. That alone makes this full bottle worthy (if those notes are your thing). As trite as saying this is, it's truly "Spring time in a bottle". My references could be wrong as to the 3 fragrances I mentioned above; I haven't smelled them in quite some time. Those are just what came to mind when I sat smelling this fragrance throughout the day. Today's my first day of actually wearing it out and about and, so far, I stick by my first impression. This fragrance is very expensive, which I think is the culprit holding it back from being embraced by the community at large. But, man, this is GOOD. Even though they say this fragrance is limited addition, I think they made more because people really love it. However, they may make good on that quote if they decide it's not being embraced enough. In any event, I got mine. Get it while it's hot, folks! • Unisex/masculine • Great longevity • Spring, maybe all Summer • 10/10 (I can't see myself getting away from this)

the list of notes suggests a rich and powdery scent, it’s actually quite dry and crisp. To my nose, the most prominent notes are cedar, cypress, and fig. I’m not usually a big fan of cypress or cedar, but this fragrance is beautiful! Mulberry Fig would be perfect for summer, but I recommend wearing it on a cool autumn or winter morning as you prepare to leave for a walk in the fresh, cold weather. The longevity and silage are average, but enough for me. I feel this fragrance leans masculine.

It's a lovely smell for summer. Leans feminine. It's both floral and fruity, somewhere right in between. For some reason the opening smells like a realistic carrot) Absolutely amazing for a hot day

Mulberry fig is a very interesting fragrance and I really like it but it does take you on a wild journey. It begins very feminine with violet and iris powder. That fades after about 7 minutes. Then it becomes green with vetiver,tart fig and cypress and the masculine characteristics come out. There is an aquatic quality here that comes off like you are on the Mediterranean coast. The above accords are right in the money. It becomes very woody as it goes along. The smell of new sandalwood and lots of cedar. Creamy, not pencil shavings. I would love to convince my husband to wear this because I love it for a man but he can't get past the iris and violet. Even though it faded he can't do it and says it's better for me. I will wear the decant this summer and decide on a FB then. It is unique, fresh, youthful. I can see Gen Z liking this. If you think you are to young for this historic house give Mulberry Fig a try. Clean, fresh, natural smelling. It reminds me of Blocki For Walks in a way. Not a dupe but same family. Not as floral as Blocki for Walks but it is a woody violet/iris but more a small wood by the Mediterranean vibe than a deep forest walk vibe like Blocki For Walks. I agree with the reviewer below, this is a mood lifter.

Ordered it from Floris, got a few days prior to this review. I've only worn it a couple times so far but my early impressions are good. I'd say it leans masculine, opens with fig enhanced by spice & dries down to a woody heart & base. Orris/Iris is also present which plays a significant role though I can't quite call this a floral scent. I do get Amyris but it's not the only wood in here. This is first & foremost a woody fragrance but it's also a spring/summer scent. I have to say it's surpassed my expectations. It's not loud, it's on the quiet side but it lasts & smells good. This fragrance is unlike anything I've come across before. Update, after a few wearings I'm getting the coconut, almost in place of the orris it seems. Perhaps a better way to say that is to say they're occupying the same space. It's got a suntan lotion vibe for me as that smell is imprinted on my memory.

Floris enclosed a sample of this with a purchase I made from them and I'm just trying it now. It's absolutely superb and beautiful. Like something you'd get from Acqua di parma at their best. But probably even better than that. I'll come back and edit this review if the dry down is horrible or the longevity atrocious but otherwise my verdict is Superb! EDIT : OK, the original beautiful Mulberry and Fig opening didn't last that long and was followed by a tasteful woody kind of dry down that I recognise in some Miller Harris fragrances (possibly Tea Tonique but I'd have to check). At a guess aroma chemicals but nicely done and not the Iso E Super type overload you get in some fragrances. Still the disappearance of the lovely and distinctive opening is enough for me to revise my score from 5 to 4. If you buy it buy it for the opening!!

fresh, green fig, amplified by the violet leaf in the opening. very sharp and uplifting - the cardamom also adds a dusty, spiced edge to it which i really enjoy, and makes it more interesting and unique. the drydown is very soft, creamy and woody. very nice - it is quite similar to diptyque's philosykos EDP; philosykos has a buttery, waxy note in the opening - like the pulp of the fig rind, whilst mulberry fig has the dusty, cold cardmom. both have similar creamy drydowns, thanks to the coconut. both smell delightful. 7.5/10 might buy. but i'm still on a fig hunt.

I've changed my mind about this perfume. I used to think it was an average coconuty scent, nothing special. But the more often I wear it, the more complex it becomes, and I've noticed that whenever I wear it I feel happy. Both fig and coconut are apparently mood-lifters. This perfume certainly does that, and it's perfect for spring and summer. I'm going to add this to my permanent collection. :)

This scent is quite light and appealing, but doesn't grab me by the insides. (I purchased two sample bottles.) A fig that is slightly woody, slightly fruity, going into a creaminess, and blended smoothly....but it fades within the hour if not sooner. It has no wow factor for me, and I am a huge fan of fig. (Natalie Lorson's Fig Essential is more my speed as is Fico di Amalfi first and foremost) I wouldn't say this is full on powdery -- no, this fades into something soft-- green fig milky, and hints of wood. Very pleasant, perfect spring summer leaning to the feminine scent without being jammy or flowery, and a touch of creaminess, is it the fig or coconut? Not sure. For me it doesn't have much oomph...so for that price? No thank you. I own Fico di Amalfi and love it, and this is not similar at all as some comments have mentioned. The Floris is light and airy and delicate, Fico is sharp and defiant and bright, and not powdery at all.

I'm a fig/date/plum fruit/nectar/milk fan and a Floris fan. But at $310 USD, I'm not sure. It probably won't even end up at the discounters, will it? Update: Finally have a 10ml decant of this directly from Floris and am test wearing now. A vague powdery woodiness. Very little fig, leaf or fruit. I know Floris house DNA is understated, but come on. I have a big collection of Floris, and this $300+ USD "limited edition" doesn't measure up. I have a big collection of fig-oriented scents - Dyptique Philosykos, AdP Fico di Amalfi, Dior Balade Sauvage and lots of others. Mulberry Fig will come in at the bottom. An exceptionally weak fig fragrance.

If some of the sweet fig note in the opening and the iris in the mid were detectable in the drydown, it would be perfect, but unfortunately, it turns into a mix of coconut and woods. That's all I'm getting. It's natural-smelling and not sweet, but it's not what I'm looking for: A FIG SCENT. For some reason, it smells much better on the paper strip than on skin or clothes(!)

The sandalwood makes it kinda smell like Santal 33

I don’t know if there was something wrong with my perfume? I really didn’t feel much scent at all. If you have tried Poppy & Barley from Jo Malone, the Mulberry Fig reminded me a lot of that one. I have Poppy & Barley and I like it because of its softness and easy-to-wear clean, yet warm scent. However, I was really disappointed that Mulberry Fig was so similar to that one, since the notes are totally different. If you want a FIG fragrance, I believe this is unfortunately not for you.

I am surprised that only one person here has really called out how strong the coconut note is in this. It is not the coconut note that fig leaf itself has, and it is not a combination of the milkiness of sandalwood with that fig profile. No, this is a quite deliberately engineered coconut note that one finds in so many sun creams (or really, perhaps, that one found in so many suncreams in the 90s). The dry, sharp vetiver, the cardamom, what is described as cypress--these create an interesting greenness that helps offer lightness. And other have described the other facets here well. But I wanted to call out the coconut note, as this is really very, very strong and present; and if that is not your thing, this really will not work for you.

This is a beautiful fig iris. Very powdery, lots of resin, the fig and the iris really balance well neither is more dominant and they play beautifully together. Very soft and elegant scent, office safe but with interest. To me it's more powdery than woody, not getting much pine nor cedar nor vetyver (which is good.) This leans feminine on me but my skin tends to sweeten a lot of things up some have said this leans masc. I love it I'm putting it on my best of powdery shelf, though it could easily be on my fruity shelf but it's a better powdery frag than a fruit frag if that makes sense...maybe that iris is indeed more dominant. Soft milky coconut I smell that too.

I love this scent. Not for something that I want to wear but more as a scent I want my home to smell like. I use it as a linen spray, give it a spritz over bedding. The coconut note is definitely noticeable once you recognize it. I just think fancy hotel when I smell this.

If Fico di Amalfi is a classy gentleman summer holiday fragrance, Mulberry Fig is the everyday office driver. A little more dense, very classy but the fig makes it an atypical office scent and signature worthy.

On paper: Bone-dry iris, powdery florals and a certain creaminess but very hard to pinpoint. On skin: Iris, fresh figs, coconut flakes, powdery blackcurrant candy and slightly green jasmine.
