Platinum 22

I wanted to be sure to review this as it is so new and I know how many of us turn to Fragrantica for buying advice, especially for things that we can’t smell before buying. Platinum 22 is a gorgeous, cozy, clean floral. I would say that it is a femme-leaning unisex fragrance (I am a woman but I think there are a lot of men that could enjoy and pull off this fragrance.) It has excellent longevity on skin and clothing (lasts all day 8-10 hours) but has gentle sillage. This is a fragrance where people will want to lean in to smell you better, not one that smacks them in the face the second you enter the room. I think this can definitely be a year-round or signature scent as it has different notes that will shine at different seasons/temperatures. I am personally looking forward to what it will do in the autumn weather. I don’t think the Fragrantica notes listing is 100% accurate. i absolutely love this fragrance. the note breakdown on Fragrantica is balls though. you definitely get the oat and orris notes in this fragrance so not sure why they're not listed here. this feels like tea time in the royal gardens to me. the oat, lime, black currant, black tea and orris combo create a gourmand quality on my skin. almost like a scone with jam, which sipping tea under the shade of a tree in a garden. it's fresh, woody, herbal and lightly sweet. Platinum 22 and Mulberry Fig have been my Spring reaches. this is a 10/10 for me.

Created in honour of the Queen's Jubilee, this is a beautifully blended scent that feels light and appropriate for warm weather gatherings. The citrus lime opening feels fresh, but is softened by the light florals. (I'm imagining drinking an afternoon gin & tonic in a garden of flowers.) I also get a black tea note, and the entire fragrance is nicely grounded by the cedar note. I enjoy this more each time I wear it. In my opinion, it is a unisex fragrance. (I am female.)

In my opinion, if you like the scent profile to BDK Gris Charnel, & FDB Minuet et Demi & or Penhaligans Changing Constance, I think you will like this as well. It's gooood, very nice iris scent that is under the radar! Indeed this scent is reminiscent of Gris Charnel, Valentino Uomo and obviously it has high quality ingredients, it is smooth, but with peppery bite. I don't find it similar to Dior Homme Parfum at all. It's surprisingly strong, sweet, ambery and different from other floris scents!

Piece of heaven...!! Leathery sweet sensual jacket on skin... Sweet tonka iris, and violet leaves mixed with leather, touch of pepper, musk, powdered cedar, rose, and a bit of clary sage... This leathery blend is mesmerizing with that violet leaves, and iris mix that formed the leathery note. Beautiful.

Spicy black tea with a lemon wedge. It is in the same vibe as Gris Charnel. I do get the sage. It is like having tea in a garden with herbs and flowers in the background. This is a likeable, unisex scent, has good projection and lasting power. Was a blind buy.

A blind buy based on the notes (Iris, Pepper, Tonka beans, violet leafs,..) & reviews. I love and collect Iris scents and hence, the smell is similar to a few known fragrances: - Valentino Uomo intense: but less chocolaty and less sweet, also not as loud. - Gentleman Reserve Prive: but no whisky or nutty notes. I however had both on and the drydowns would be differentiated only by someone deep into fragrances. - Dior: I don’t own it but it’s more leathery and denser than Platinum 22. All in all, platinum is a good middle ground of these giants, it’s too expensive to be just another addition if you already have similar options, but I found it for a very good price and didn’t mind the blind buy. Performance is good in its different aspects, a colder weather scent unless you are trying to olfactory abuse people. I wouldn’t say it’s a safe blind buy, also not a safe date scent, leans mature and masculine as it feels dry and serious. You can enjoy a bit of this drinking your cocktail in the library bar in Copenhagen, or in an evening business meeting if you spray it on an hour or so before. All in all a lovely addition to my small collection. Not a wow (at least yet), but a solid “glad I got it” perfume.

I caved and purchased this after EiiR passed away. Reminds me of a room with wood-panelled walls, floral carpets, dusty old books, with French doors opening out onto a garden of flowers and herbs after the rain.... perhaps you're sitting there with a bowl of honeyed porridge and a cup of builders tea and a newspaper. It is reminiscent of BDK's Gris Charnel but has a different angle. This smells very warm, smooth and ambery and though it is quite sweet it is very sophisticatedly done - blended with greenery, flowers, spices and fruits. It is not cloying at all... a good all-year-round signature type of scent but might be best in the evening in the summer and spring months. I like it a lot.

In the opening this smells really earthy. I mainly smell orris, oat, and a little bit of blackcurrant and lime. Before I even sprayed anything I smelled the sprayer and I got a really pretty Blackcurrant smell, but once I sprayed it I got a really earthy orris and oat smell. A few minutes in and that earthiness goes away and you’re left with a really classy scent. It’s very woody and a little bit fresh and spicy. Floris also mentions that this scent was created to honor Queen Elizabeth II.

Divine opening! Powdery, cocooning, slightly reminiscent of rice powder (or maybe it's the oat?), warm and fuzzy. It reminds me of a few rice-based fragrances I've tried but not for long. The black pepper starts peeking through rather quickly, and in a strange way mellows down the whole composition and this is when florals kick in. The woodiness is very subtle. I'd say the drydown is rather harsh compared to the opening but is till very beautiful, very feminine and classy.

While I like 22 this runs a bit masculine for my taste. Will smell great on my husband. He likes this as well and he usually hates iris. The sweetness here is just enough to be fine for a man. Peppery but not overly so. Nice iris but not bedroom fluffy iris, softly speaking iris if you will. Nice cedar base. 22 is very classy and refined. Again, guys this is a great pick for you to impress. Refined elegance. Perfect date night scent for a classy gentleman.

For me, this opened with a pungent cedar and woody smell, likely the sage. It's a fairly complex fragrance that definitely develops the more you wear it. After 30min or so, I get a lot more of the tonka bean and the musky scents. Overall, this is a really pleasant unisex fragrance. It’s honestly beautiful, fancy, loud but not as overpowering like portrait of a lady. This is something I feel like a princess would wear :)

I only decided to give this a try for the sentimental value connected with HRH EiiR. I have a 2ml sample vial, but I will not purchase a full bottle. Already from the beginning, I get a very sharp black pepper, with a bit of black currant. It’s very loud and sharp, it’s like when a loud relative shows up without invitation and you can’t escape them. I don’t like it. I also get a bit of green tea and lime, and after a few minutes, very muted cedar wood notes arrive. I don’t get anything powdery or sweet, it’s very green and spicy (black pepper), with a bit of wooden notes. Definitely not what I was expecting. I see people comparing this to Gris Charnel - Gris Charnel is a very full on fragrance, sweet (rose) and sandal wood - heavy. This is quite on a different side of the spectrum - almost fresh, green and spicy. The wood here is not playing the main role. But my grandma loves this!

Wearing this today and in reading some of the wild reviews below (black pepper? leather?! cigarettes?!!!?!) I thought I'd post the actual notes from the Floris website: TOP NOTES: Orris | Oat | Blackcurrant | Lime HEART NOTES: Rose | Violet Leaf | Clary Sage | Black Tea BASE NOTES: Cedarwood | Tonka Bean | Amber | Musk The oat and orris do play prominently and I can somewhat see how people get powdery but I absolutely do not see the comparisons to Dior Homme Parfum or Dior Homme Intense. Not even close. There is a bit of a light comparison to Gris Charnel but this has a different feel, more British, more "high tea," almost a gourmand. Low performance for an EdP but quite nice if you are a Floris fan, don't have anything similar and can get this at a discount.

Does not it smell like a usual chypre at the beginning? Or maybe it takes longer to open up on my skin and it skips violet and black currant on me. Only after an hour I recognize the middle notes, woods and amber. I absolutely do not get the comparison with BDK. Dina_France (perfume reviews on YouTube)

Platinum 22 by Floris is an exceptional iris fragrance with noticeable quality. It combines the dryness of lime, a green camphorous touch from sage, woodiness, powderiness, and the green wetness of tea. The composition is precisely balanced and extremely elegant

Very designer smelling and not in keeping with the regal prestige of this house. An easy pass.

Mindless concentration of some darker herbs, no lift.

Absolutely incredible chocolatey iris opening, easily a 10. I didnt know anything about this fragrance, so my initial thoughts were entirely my own which were "holy crap I think I just found a Dior homme original replacement.... I think I smell iris malikhan too " (so to those saying they're nothing alike, lol-no) sprayed my hand and wandered the mall to see how the drydown goes... glad I did. Quickly dries down to reveal an amberwood overdose. Absolutely tragic. I HATE the drydown. Was desperate to get home to scrub it. To me this smells how a middle eastern frag company would try to dupe the old bottles of homme Dior original with "better longevity" I'm so glad I didn't buy it on the spot based on the opening.

Very nice. This has been well described by my fellow reviewers below. Can I add something useful? Let me know what you think: I have Dior Homme Parfum on one wrist and Platinum 22 on the other, They are practically identical except Platinum 22 's Projection and longevity are less,its a tad less sweet, except on extreme dry down where Dior becomes more smoky and 22 becomes slightly fruity -blackcurrant indeed- and its more expensive.Despite the last part I fear that I may have just talked myself into buying a bottle for when I want to smell superb but slightly under the radar. And this was meant to have been a hatchet job.... Horses for courses. Needle still edging towards Dior Homme though. Perhaps I will instead try the excellent Floris Ledger series Sandalwood instead for better variety. In fact you can find 22 heavily discounted so I bought a bottle!

I went into Floris with a list of fragrances to try - this was not on it, and this is what I left with. Such a good surprise! A surprisngly modern feel, it perfectly balances the classic - as you would expect - with the contemporary. I pick up on the blackcurrant with cool orris immediately, but there is something that adds a little golden touch from the outset - the 'grounding oats' which really serve their purpose. You then get the soft rose and violet, romantic without being frothy, and a little spice from black tea and what I thought was pink pepper (it's black). These notes stay, along with the iris, as it settles into a soft musky, sweet base. Very good.

I think this is a slightly heavy and sensual scent with great longevity and sillage. It dries down on me to a smooth scent, velvety with a chocolatey undertone (not sickeningly sweet, but dark and polished) beneath some florals and woodiness. There's no spicey sharpness or aquatic freshness here, it's like a warm desert night in a village square near a bosque of carob trees.

I will tell you exactly what this smells like. Platinum 22 lives somewhere between 'Amouage Reflection Man made slightly more reserved, vanillic and feminine' and 'Atelier Cologne silver iris minus the metallic notes'. A very unexpected and welcome new addition to the Floris lineup, love this release.

Iris galore, lots of sweet tonka, touch of herbs, rest of the notes not there for me! Subtly woody and fairly sweet on me. Very unisex. Floris has been impressive with lasting power and class although this one does run more sweet than I personally like my iris. Gournand category!

On paper: Iris front and center, sandalwood, musky sweetness and clean hay. On skin: Bright, woody notes with metallic iris, nutmeg, tonka and hints of a cola accord. Very fresh, airy yet spicy scent. I’d honestly spray quite a lot of this on a sunny spring day.

Gorgeous! I get the comparison to Iris Malikhan and La Fin Du Monde both of which are my favourite iris scents. This is a mature, woody, touch aromatic, well done, serious, elegant iris rendering. Sleek black luxurious wear, for the evening = chefs kiss.

Does anybody finds Platinum similar to Jour De Fete ? There an article here on Fragrantica where writer said that this one instantly reminded him of Jour De Fete but here in the comments nobody mention that reference...

The initial burst of lime threw me off...not a fan. But as it dried down, it’s a standard powdery iris with some woods, aromatics, and a touch of sweetness. It’s nice, but not something I’d wear all the time

I am a Guy and sprayed on me this smells like class sophistication and wealth . Which is fortunate as I have none of the above

Smells like someone who’s wearing Dior Homme and is smoking cigarettes.

This reminds me of Gris Charnel by BDK
