Santal Intense

Masculine, elegant, smooth & well-blended. A mass appealing spicy barbershop-style fragrance. Slightly smoother than the original but other than that it’s the same fragrance with a much needed improvement in performance. 100ml of the original can be currently found for £50; £180 for the same of this intense version since it hasn’t hit discounters yet. Original is incredibly weak and the intense you’re paying more than 3x for the same fragrance but stronger; so not too sure which one i’d purchase

Im so happy I have my bottle today! I’ve been a fan of floris . My first impression was going back in time to the old and discontinued santal extreme. I bought my last bottle in 2008 and never found it again. I had to order my Santal Intense from London . As has not been released yet in USA. Smell like Santal but stronger and a tiny bit more woody. It is very alluring and divine. Will buy it again

Very classy, masculin barbershop smell. Opens up very woody and green, dries down to a woody, spicy resinous, lavender scent ( I get shaving foam vibes) all smoothed out by the sandalwood. Signature scent worthy for sure. I would say, this is a creamier version of Tom Ford Beau de Jour. Longevity is max 4h unfortunately

It really is a more contemporary version of the original Santal: cleaner base, slightly more citrusy opening, better performer. When I run out of my old Santal, I will probably opt to buy the Intense version as it is an improvement compared to the OG.

Love this. Reminds me a little of Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum. But a little smoother and less spicy. Just got it. So not sure about performance yet. But the smell is intoxicating to me.

this, to me, is a fun cross between fougere and barbershop profiles. it opens with a super fresh, spicy blast - the kind that will put hairs on your chest - with a green, fatty and pulpy quality that smells almost like a fig note. it then becomes earthy - a soapy, barbershop lavender that is brightened and sharpened by clove, before settling into a roughened sandalwood, cedar and vetiver drydown that's slightly scratchy, in a good way. it really goes on a journey through the notes and they remain quite distinct despite there being quite a lot of them! it's definitely masculine leaning, perhaps slightly too much for me, but it's still a beautiful and interesting scent; i just don't see me reaching for it if i purchased a full bottle 8/10

Unfortunately quite dissapointing in strength and smell compared to the 10ml EDT sans intense. Not as strong as the EDT, not sure how this could be an EDP. If wanted, go for the EDT. I would suggest avoid. Mine was labelled "marketed exclusively for middle east" on the box.

It's a fabulous smell, but it just doesn't last or project well. When considering its price tag is above £100 for a 100 ml bottle, it's just not worth it in my opinion; I'd give it a 5/10 at best its nice smell heavily carries its score.

I compared Floris Santal Intense and the OG Santal on left and right wrists. Seems that the new Intense has the olibanum/frankincense amped up more. And maybe the amber a bit too. I think maybe the slightly reduced olibanum and amber of the OG also exposes the wood a bit more. The wood is slightly cushioned and dampened by the olibanum/amber in the Intense. The opening citruses are more apparent in the OG and so radiates off the skin just a bit more. The Intense may have a bit better longevity, but its hard to tell as they go into and through the drydown. Its the kind of improvement you see from the Dolce&Gabbana The One EDP compared to its EDT, i.e only about 10% or 15% or so improvement. Otherwise, the scent profile of the Intense is much the same as the OG. Both have substantial similarity to the discontinued Gucci Envy for Men. Buy whichever Floris Santal is less expensive, or, if you are adequately enthralled with the scent profile and price difference is no object, you can go with the Intense and its fairly marginal performance improvement.

Just found out about this intense version after literally receiving santal edt the original version today lol. Oh well, point of reference i guess lol. Can't wait to try..

Sadly, this fragrance sits very close to the skin. Even when sprayed on clothes, I struggle to pick up whiffs after 30 minutes. A shame because it smells so good.

I could not find this on their website. Is this a limited release?
