Sirena

I would have bought it blind earlier because I had a special crush for Sirena at the moment I saw the notes and the bottle (and the name too :) ), but as I have many other "crushes" waiting on my wishlist, it remained on delay. But now as I got the chance to test it on my skin I realised all my anticipations were good: I must have this scent as soon as possible. Why do I need Sirena? Because summer is near, and this scent is full of vitality and freshness - so much needed in warmer days. A perfume for the day, that doesn`t impose a particular style, it is not complicated, nor restrictive. Sirena is like a refreshing breeze on the shore mixed with delicate flowers. It`s crispy side comes from an intense note of seawater that gives me the impression I swim in a clear water through coral reefs and tiny colorful fishes. I also get the pepper, red berry juice and peony, all famous for their freshness, so the mixture remains as it begins: joyfull and fresh. But Sirena (which means mermaid) is not a deadly mermaid as a symbol of seduction, but rather a cartoonish version, harmless, that mermaid with the long red hair...what is her name...Ariel? The scent is intense and I can feel it the whole day on my skin. Lively, cheerful, it has tones of charm and will definitely accompany me to the beach. I`ll probably even color my hair red because of it :).

At first i got this fragrance as a sample and was not expecting to fall in love with it, but as soon as i sprayed it onto my skin, i was hooked. The scent is so delicate and airy, the best way to describe it is a dreamy watery floral scent. I could smell the burst of pink flowers and sea water mixed together when i first sprayed it, and it dried down into a slight more fresh version of the top notes, but still kinda sweet somehow. It is very well blended. Makes me very happy everytime i sniff my self wearing it, and I never really smell anything like this before. So if Tom Ford Soleil Blanc makes you feel like youre chilling at the boujee beach club drinking some coconut cocktails, this Floris Sirena will make you feel more like you are literally dipping in the middle of the sea with some floating flowers around you. It is feminine and low key alluring, i couldnt agree more that they named it Sirena. It is just so beautiful that i couldnt help my self to get the full bottle after a week. On my skin it stays around 4-5 hours until i need to reapply it, the sillage is very moderate and almost skin scent like, but it doesnt matter because it smells too good!

Very, very light, and smells like the seaside on a Mediterranean summer day. Beautiful, happy scent, but only perceptible as an actual scent when you let people smell the nozzle on the bottle and they're like, 'oh yeah, that's what you smell of!' Very intimate sillage, but lasts much, much longer on fabric!

So different from other Floris fragrances, and I think better. A bit too light for me but still love it. Marine in an urban chic kind of way.

Oh, lovely--just like anything I have from Floris! This is definately a summer fragrance for me. Added it to my list of "Want Its"

I don't even know how to describe it. Just beautiful.

This reminds me of their cherry blossom perfume which has rose and peony and cherry which is a red fruit/berry. It lacks the osmanthus and cherry blossom that one has, and Sirena is less floral. There is something very girly and sweet about this fragrance almost like a little girl pretending to be a mermaid by the beach. Mermaids are supposed to be very playful and cheeky creatures when they are in good moods, and this is what I imagine a very young mermaid who has not yet had her heart broken 💔 by some sailor would smell like. Aquatic sea fruits (that humans have no idea exist) from the deep depths that she would feed on. Her scales smell like flower petals, the salt of the sea is barely there on her skin or hair she is to innocent to be "salty". She smells of aquatic, sweet fruits, flower petals, and a gentle light sea breeze. Youthful, innocent, playful. Flirty and sweet. Very young. Again, if you are young and think this house is to old fashioned for you give Sirena a try. It's flirty and sweet without being gourmand. Think saltwater taffy at the boardwalk, but not in a literal gourmand way. Comparing Sirena and Floris Cherry Blossom side by side I prefer the Cherry Blossom, it is more floral. But Sirena is charming. I am going to test it on my younger sister. I think she will like this scent profile and be very attracted to the pretty turquoise blue labeling. If she likes this a FB would make a nice Christmas gift.

This definitely isn't a straightforward marine or aquatic. It's more floral, but the florals aren't about the petals and the smell of the blossoms, but the greenness of the essence of water that is in all flowering plants. I'm not sure it's a safe blind buy if you're looking for a certain type of fragrance, but it's imo not a regular shmegular take on a marine aquatic, which I always like.

I get sweet pink flowers and tart red berries floating in sparkling sea water (nothing 'dirty' about the marine note here), backed by a nice, clean musk. Bright, feminine and refreshing - have been reaching for it a lot this summer.

It’s light and watery. Definitely appropriate for a hot day. Reminds a bit of Olympea. I’m not obsessed, but it is pleasant. I mostly get the marine note, bergamot, and pink pepper. The pink florals are subtle.

This scent lives on me as a 6h-8h scent. Smells like flowers or seashore or seashore with something that managed to bloom there, low-key and nice. I like it, but can't really say it is one of my favourites.

It smells like watermelon and pear to me, combined with a very soft jasmine. It's a very mellow scent, delicate and intimate. Sweet but not overpoweringly so. I really adore it.

This smelled more marine-fruity to me than floral. The fragrance is "okay" but I would have liked it to be more flowery. It's not harsh and the staying power is about medium.

Could be beautiful but the projection and performance are awful. Smells nice for 10 minutes then disappears. Insulting price tag for the quality.

Jan 2021 I have a bottle of Bergamotto di Positano (also from the Private line and same price as this -- $180) and wanted to expand on my Floris collection. I tested this on paper and skin. It's been over a hour and I am going to have to wash it off as it's becoming more and more sickening/cloying. It's very different from all the other Floris I smelled. Frankly, it smelled synthetic and like marshmallow. That is not like Floris at all typically but as soon as I sprayed it on, I was reminded of Rose Marshmallow Candy by Jo Malone x Zara. Looking at the note breakdown, I believe that it's the combo of Marine with florals and Musk that is making it smell that way to me. Also, I took a last min look at the Floris website bc something was bugging me and lo, behold! Floris lists a base note of Patchouli which makes sense and of course, Fragrantica doesnt bother to list. Seriously, FU Fragrantica with your crappy notes sections! Patchouli literally makes me physically nauseous, even when I dont recognize that a perfume has a lot of it. Off to scrub this off now!

While I do love the house of Floris and have made a pilgrimage to Jermyn Street, this is not my favorite from the house. I’ve tried it twice (2020 and 2026) and have had the same impression. There is a strong and somewhat artificial “blue” or marine note combined with a heavy, powdery note. I do not detect the musk, peony, rose, jasmine, bergamot, or sandalwood. For those who love a blue note, Lake and Skye 11 11 Azure offers a cleaner, less cloying option.

Does not smell like a marine/aquatic fragrance, more of a fruity floral one. I get la vie est belle from lancome not sure why. Not anything special imo.

I tried this perfume a couple of weeks ago but have put off reviewing it because of a problem which has vexed me on several occasions and is not unique to Floris: The dreaded problem of the unmarked vial. I'm not talking about "hand-decanted" vials such as one may receive from friends in a swap. I am talking about manufacturer-carded samples which state the house name but do not offer the name of the perfume directly on the vial. This turns out to be confusing to someone like me who likes to test a perfume as thoroughly as possible before reviewing. Why? Because once off the card, I tend to just set the vial down, and if I've been testing other perfumes of that house (which I usually am, see: OCD), then they all become confused in a jumble, and I have to try to figure out which perfume was what. I believe that I have succeeded in distinguishing Sirena from Seringa today, but only because I happened by chance to have a fully labeled vial of Seringa on hand, which made it possible to compare them side-by-side. The worst example of this problem occurred when I ordered a whole bunch of Montale carded samples, and six or eight of them came off their cards in transit. Other offenders: Illuminum and Krigler. No perfume titles on the vials. Note to perfume houses: PLEASE just say "yes" to individually printed vials!!!!!! End of mini-rant. So, Sirena. From the get-go, it wasn't likely to be a winner in my perfume book, as it is classified as floral marine. However, I have been pleasantly surprised to find that really it smells like a bunch of flower petals tossed across the surface of a pond. It does not smell like all of those horrid aquatics which literally turn my stomach, inducing a queasiness akin to that which may arise during a long ship ride through troubled waters. To my nose, Sirena veers much closer to the twenty-first-century category of abstract floral perfume. It's not really a sweet-laundry or industrial-clean scent, but it definitely has an abstract edge and will no doubt be winning over Sephora customers to this classic British house, established in 1730, long before nearly any other perfume house in existence. Floris seems to have a reputation for being a bit dowdy, but they are holding their own and making changes in their line-up to accommodate market-molded transformations in the tastes of consumers, who for a variety of reasons are becoming more and more accustomed to fragrances made without the sacrifice of plant life. I do believe that some plant life was sacrificed in the production of Sirena, but it strikes a middle ground between the old and the new. The borrowed and the blue. That kind of thing...

Sirena feels like a missed opportunity. while it's very pretty...its also pretty disappointing in terms of a scent that could invoke a sea air, marine, aquatic, mermaid fragrance...cuz i definitely don't get any type of watery notes or aqua vibes from this. Lily from Floris could've been a better fit for Sirena, as i love that watery floral vibe it has. Sirena (which is Spanish for Mermaid) feels like it should've been called Unicornio (Spanish for Unicorn) because all i get is a surgery, crystal rock candy, syrupy type sweetness, with a slightly more musky then floral undertone. it's not a strong scent so not overwhelming or overpowering. just missed the watery marks and went in a sticky cotton candy direction instead. would've liked this to be a stronger, fresh sea breeze, airy, watery, fruity, floral, and less musky sweetness. still a lovely fragrance...just not what i was expecting it to smell like.

The Sirens of Greek mythology are portrayed as aquatic and mermaid creatures.Floris Sirena captures that picture,of sea magic and mermaids.The combination of gold and light blue on the bottle anticipates the result.I totally smell the aquatic notes,soft flowers and sea breeze.It shares the same cold feeling as Syringa and Bouquet de la Reine,which I appreciate.Sirena is a calm,magical place somewhere in a tropical island,sea breeze,soft rose and peony and a hint of musk at the drydown.Very sophisticated,not ''summery suntan scent'',etheral,poetic,just like a water-nymph.
