Lethal Oleander

I went on an online quest for Drew Barrymore's fragrances last year and came up empty--nothing on her web site--nothing on any of the discount fragrance web sites or Wish--I was bereft!! But--since I went looking here I tracked down one fragrance body mist of Lethal Oleander from Walmart and just got it today--WOW!! The top note is a BLAST of sweet narcotic oleander and citrus notes--the mid note is where the Monoi lives and the dry down--dammit--is musky coconut!! I HATE freaking coconut--but that.sadly, is where it ends up. I wish it had more silage--but it's just a body spray. But--because I am an obsessed idiot--I have just now ordered a bottle of the EDP from E bay on the hopes of that amazing top note somehow lasting longer in the stronger format--I guess we'll see!!

Delicious. I loved this so much I bought the other two without trying them and was a little disappointed. Not so much in Jasmine, but Narcissus was just ok. This, however, was delightful. It feels like date night, summer, fall, winter. It's just a multi-faceted perfume. It made me feel like I could go out and take on the world because I was well put together. The finishing touch for your favorite outfit. I have used it almost every day since I got it and I have an extensive perfume collection with some high-end and some bargain scents like this. I love it when I have a find like this. Thanks Drew!!! <3

I am so glad that she launched a more seductive and deeper version of her last floral collection, it's something about the way flower beauty mixes coconut/musk with florals, they do it right!! This scent last a full 7 hours on me, even in a high populated area! The beginning: monoi flower and orange blossom opens it up! Middle: white oleander..and jasmine sneaks into there The drydown: the mix of rich musk and a dash of coconut! I'm already loving her new collection!

I wasn't shopping for perfume, but I passed a clearance shelf, and it smelled amazing. I found 2 bottles of this perfume marked down to 5.00 each. I couldn't resist!! This smells so pretty!!! I'm especially gonna love it this spring!

Unique, mysterious...high-end quality. Not too strong or overpowering. Light sillage. You get about 2 hrs of this delicious fragrance before it begins to fade.

@josephquartana: How others treat us is THEIR karma; how we react is ours. Neither you nor Ms. Barrymore can claim to have originated the theme of fatal flowers. I was in high school many years ago when I first encountered the concept of a garden of fatal flowers in a story published in 1844 by American author Nathaniel Hawthorne called "Rappaccini's Daughter". Anyone can, as you say, "Look it up." And, just curious... are you going after every perfume house that uses the term Fatale? You might find L'Agent Provocateur a more formidable target than Ms. Barrymore. And don't forget Ms. Kardashian's 2014 release Fleur Fatale, which predates your series by two years. But I don't see HER posting rants about YOUR series. It's a big marketplace, Mr. Quartana, and good will, or lack thereof, plays a significant role in the choices consumers make in where, and where not, to spend our money. (Just ask Mr. Galliano...or Jean-Paul Guerlain.) So, be a gentleman and consider two things: 1) Not everyone can afford niche prices and 2) Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Those who like the concept of fatal flowers but aren't satisfied by the quality of a mass market version MIGHT be persuaded to try a niche version, i.e., yours. But believe me, you cannot bully anyone into becoming a customer with a snippy, childish rant employing all caps. Finally, your site lists prices for the Fatales line at $145-$185 per bottle while Ms. Barrymore's lists her line at $15 per bottle. No one is going to confuse or equate them any more than we'd confuse or equate Boone's Farm wine from Walmart with a fine French Beaujolais. There's room in the marketplace and a wide enough customer base for both extremes.

OK my dear Fragranticas, I blind bought this due to your comments, in particular the comparison to Jennifer Aniston's Chapter One, which also smells like Tom Ford'$ $oleil Blanc. Drew's site gives you 15% off your first sale, so it was under $20 shipped. How could I go wrong? I will report back soon. Bottle is certainly pretty and classic-looking. Is this stuff really at Walmart? === UPDATE: So glad I bought, very sisterlike to the ones I mentioned above. Monoi oil is not overpowering but very well blended. I hope this lasts. Gorgeous minimalist bottle, and a scent strip of all three was included. I think the pink smells like Prada Candy and cannot tell what the green one is similar to. All recyclable materials, thanks! There is a note on the end of LO that I can't decipher either. I'll keep smelling! And I will be back for the body spray. Please give us a lotion or body oil too.

Not my idea of a “lethal” scent but it’s charming coconut and monoi make it good for summer. Yes, absolutely Terra-cotta by Guerlain executes this concept with more quality ingredients, but this is an absolute winner for someone on a budget who wants the same idea. I bought a full bottle, even though I have the Guerlain, because it’s so affordable and the cute little potion bottle makes it easy to throw in my bag. Longevity is not great, so be prepared to reapply. I get about 3 hours.

I really really like this one. BUT it reminds me SO MUCH of my Jimmy Choo - FLASH. Like after a while it's identical. But lethal is much more potent and has a sharper floral note that makes it stand out. But the overall "gist" of the fragrance is identical.

Smells exactly like what 80-year-old church ladies smell like. Not a bad scent whatsoever; just very mature. Extremely powdery with a heavy white floral base.

Dear Weegee, I see your points completely and don't mean to come off as arrogant or a bully! Also I don't claim to be the inventor of the concept of poison flowers as an alluring idea for perfumery; in fact I have publicly stated that my "Les Potions Fatales" IS a nod and homage to Dior's Poison and YSL's Opium, but a much deeper dive into the subject matter, specifically on HOW the flowers were used as poisons, a highlights reel of their infamy. In fact I worked with Emilie Coppermann on Poppy Soma, who was a student of none other than Jean Louis Sieuzac, who created Opium in '78, so... and everyone in the industry that blind judged it for the Fragrance Foundation prize was aware of where we were coming from conceptually (we = me and the 9 perfumers I worked with). It's just they (mother company Maesa + Drew) registered the names of their fragrances (on public record and I can prove) immediately after I won the award, so the timing is suspicious. But it's more than that, another brand that the mother company that owns the Drew Barrymore brand, called Maesa, developed which is called 'Neon Jungle' or something like that and artwork on their packaging is very similar to mine. But please compare yourself via Google and draw your own conclusion. So it would seem I was in their sights as an "inspiration". I don't want to bully anyone, I don't make any money doing this, its a labor of love of mine for the last 11 years of my life. I'm just calling it out that a big multi-million dollar company and a famous celebrity are profiting off 3 years of my work. IN FACT PLEASE DO NOT BUY MINE! This is NOT a sales pitch. I only just want to make people aware of what is going on here. My other fragrance company, Six Scents, was also the victim of a big corporate bullying and blatant theft, but worse, in that particular instance they stole all of our inventory out of our warehouse, bankrupting us. If you ever heard of the Six Scents brand and why you don't anymore, that's why. So I'm just REALLY tired of getting ripped off is all. But then we heard and realized she and our project were completely different and we thus took our time with the development and release. Different scope altogether. PPS - The other explanation of why I couldn't release Les Potions Fatales within the six months it usually takes me to develop a collection, because Six Scents was bankrupted by the story above PPS - how do you know that I wasn't going to release $15 versions of my own? I realize mine are expensive (the cost is expensive though) but now I can't even pursue a cheaper option PPPS - (last one, promise) I write in CAPS sometimes for emphasis, not to bully. I'm not a bully. I'm a gentle man. I make perfume, not war.

This fragrance and the collection it is a part of is suspiciously similar to my 'Les Potions Fatales' perfumes series which I launched in early 2016 and won a FiFi prize for in 2017 (Perfume Extraordinaire for my Poppy Soma). Unimpressive, generic, and weak.

BEAUTIFUL! Not a dupe whatsoever, but yes...similar to the original Michael Kors perfume. Same vein. But not the same exact smell. The coconut and monoi oil here makes it it's own scent in it's own right. At first you get a BLAST of gorgeous realistic white flowers...and then the coconut, woody notes, musk, and monoi oil come into play after about 15 minutes and really warm this fragrance up. I'm really starting to think I have a love affair with the note "Monoi Oil" because everything I have smelled with it...seems to smell expensive and super clean. Victoria Secret has a body mist called "Gorgeous" in a tall, purple bottle with a floral design that they never made into a perfume version. But it only has like 3 notes, Monoi oil being one of them and it smells like a sweet, gorgeous, warm ambered perfume. Almost like an expensive, luxurious body lotion. I'm starting to think Monoi oil is just a note that I love. Anyway...this is really beautiful. I just received "Ultimate Beach Day" by Clean and this doesn't smell anything like that. If you're a floral lover...I personally would deff categorize this one as blind-buy safe. Performance isn't terrible but isn't a beast either. Longevity - 4-5 hours depending on how much you use. Spraying on clothes will help it last longer too. Projection - Strong at first! About 4-5 feet for the first hour. Then weakens gradually. Overall Score - 8.5/10 This is EASILY her most beautiful and expensive smelling scent to date! I love this!! A rich, sophisticated, quality floral perfume at such an affordable price! Big thumbs up to Drew Barrymore and whichever perfumer created it.

I was looking for the affordable substitute for Dark Destiny by Tokyo Milk, and here it is. A very nice and easy to wear white flower ditty with a dark twist ( I believe Monoi is responsible - none of the other white flowers in here have this intoxicating juicy aura). Though I miss that sweet cardamom note from the Dark Destiny ( I know it is not in the composition, but it is there), I can settle for Lethal Oleander. Despite a slightly tacky name, this is not for teenage gals...nothing girly or innocent about this little bit. Longevity is not too great, but for this price reapplying every couple of hours is affordable!

I found this on clearance, and realized why I didn't get it when it first came out. To my nose, I find it really similar to Alien and John Galliano Parlez-Moi D'amour Eau Fraiche. I find these all to be chilly, deep fragrances. If you mix Alien with Juicy Couture you pretty much have this! I thought Lethal Oleander would be a vivid, bright floral because of the Kors comparisons. Update: This is an oxymoron, like a suntan lotion for a goth girl. Beachy, but way to rich. An evening scent for sure.

The names of these perfumes intrigue me. The Oleander one really floored me. I absolutely love it. I like the coconut note In conjunction with the florals. I purchased the mist and the eau de parfum. I am looking forward to trying the Jasmin and Narcissus as well. I’ll also be exploring other lines with the concept of “ fatal flowers.” Thank you, Flower and Drew Barrymore for being inspired to try this interesting perfume idea.

I was dying to discover this one since it had Oleander. The trees i grew up smelling everyday, all i got is white florals, tuberose strong. Not bad comparing it to it's sisters. This is the best one in the collection.
