My father owned a bottle of Gucci Envy for Men (2003) (GEM, oh yes it certainly was) when I was a teenager. I remember wearing it to school or when I was going out with friends (2005 - 2010 era). As such, GEM presents a "door" to my childhood memories. Now fast forward a decade and a half, I was in the market for a fragrance and decided to pick up a bottle of good old GEM, only to find out it was discontinued a long time ago :( Recently I found out that FOMO made a fragrance that aims to closely resemble GEM. I am typically not a big fan of dupes, but given the relatively low price point (EUR 35), I thought the downside risk is limited and ordered a bottle. Obviously, this is not the original masterpiece itself, but FOMO aims to get you as close as possible to the original and I have to admit that it does a very good job. Think of GEM as a genuine leather jacket and FOMO as an imitation leather jacket (with good quality). Even though the jackets are not made from the same material, they still feel and look almost equal. Apparently, I am an old mad as this is an "old man's scent" (I am currently 32 y/o). I have to strongly disagree, and I'll tell you why. We are currently located in an era that is dominated by fragrances that tend to be more on the sweeter side, fragrances that have to be accepted by the "crowd" and fragrances that are afraid to stand out. I am talking purely about designer fragrances here because your average Joe is not going to tip his toes in the niche market very quickly. As such, the average Joe is least likely to wear a fragrance that is distinguishing itself from the crowd and hence Envy of FOMO will come across as an old man's perfume (rather than a differentiated one). I guess to each his own. To me, Envy of FOMO/GEM represent an era that was dominated by higher quality fragrances that had the guts to stand out. There was more scent differentiation going on in my opinion and you didn’t need to tap the niche market to get yourself a bottle of good perfume. With having said that, I do acknowledge that I "suffer" from nostalgia and I am attracted to this fragrance simply because it is “different”, which makes this an attractive scent profile for me. The bottle is still new and I only tested it in a colder climate. I might get a more refined experience once the juice has "macerated" a bit and I get the chance to wear it in different climates. So, for I am positively surprised by Envy of FOMO. The fragrance projects well for about 1-2 hours and then remains closer to the skin for about 4-5 hours before it disappears. Not bad performance given the price point.

Well what can I say. Cant afford old bottles of Gucci envy for men? this is helpful. Definitely missing the ginger & cardamom but I can live with that, as to be fair the green juice version didnt have the cardamom as strong in the formula whereas the orginal pale juice did. The green juice had ginger but almost too much compared to the pale juice of the 90s. The dry down of FOMO is very close to the green juice and will scratch the itch. i adore envy with all my heart my favourite fragrance of all time due to nostalgia & so many happy memories. I know for sure my son wouldnt wear it, as its just not what young people like these days, think boring LV imagination is more up their street. This is for a person over 40 who is sick of oud & heavy winter fragrance & wants to smell like they just came from a UK Afro Caribbean barbarshop with a fresh sharp skin fade in the 90s & are on their way to a rave. FOMO has great lasting power & as it warms up on the skin the more of a envy vibe will develop. Gucci are fools for releasing all the rubbish they do & forgetting their will always be a market for the 90s powerhouse frags as the older people all be smelling like the kids now with the bleu chanels & Salvage, imagination lv, ect ect. But YSL are smart enough to know some of us still want those 90s dna's. So thank you to Arabian perfumes FOMO we you took this DNA and did a excellent job for those of us who cant affort stupid resale prices.

DO NOT GIVE UP ON THE OPEN ! I have owned 2 bottles of the original Envy, still have half bottle left from 2010. This was one of my signature scents from High School and I hated using it cuz I know I’ll never find it again. Along came FOMO Envy. I was so hyped for this release , I would’ve camped outside FragBuy to snag it. The first few sprays totally deflated me. The citrus top comes off kinda funky (almost like it’s turned) and you get the DNA in the background. Then, about 15 minutes later that powerful barbershoppy DNA made its entrance. This is undoubtedly Gucci Envy. I give it a score of 95% close because the opening isn’t quite there. I did 3 test sprays on my hand the first day and it overpowered the Millesime Imperial I was wearing. I tried to scrub it off so it doesn’t clash with the frag I was wearing and multiple scrubs wouldn’t remove it. Three months later, I spray it again and the opening is a bit less rough, but just like the first time- Absolutely magical after 15 minutes. I’d say after 15 minutes this is 100% Envy. Do not judge it by the open, be patient and experience the magic of Gucci Envy in the mid & dry down. Monster projector that easily tops the 10hr mark with a great 4-5ft scent bubble in the first 3-4 hrs, then dropping down to a 1-2ft bubble. Never really becoming a skin scent unless you surpass the 10hr mark.

@mateuszolech072 and everybody else. So I just received it. Literary 15 minutes ago, and sprayed it on. This is the first time a fragrance gives me the same scent memory as the one from 1998-1999. I tried Eclat and some other random clone of Gucci envy, but those clones did not give me what this gives. I will let the sit and messarate for 2 weeks and see what is smells like then. I saw the review from Gentscent ,and he said it already smelled better after a little while. This really smells like it. Or at least, gives me the memory from the late90's that the others did not give. I have actually written to clone houses like Armaf , that they should try to make this, I received a nice mail back that they might look into this, but of course until now we have not seen anything. And now MOFO has taken it up in themselves to remake this classic masterpiece. I was so afraid it would not live up to my expectations. But it did! I am over the moon, and I am excited to smell this in a couple of weeks time again to see how it changed. If you know Gucci envy from the 90's, this is the closest I have smelled anything come to it .

OH... WHAT? WAIT A MINUTE ! STOP SCROLLING DOWN and READ THIS. THE ENVY OF FOMO by The house of FOMO 🪵 🌸🍋 Gucci Envy has been my favorite fragrance since 1998 and no release except (La Nuit DE L’ Homme and ALLURE by Chanel) has been able to close it. So, I found this little 💎 (THE ENVY OF FOMO) by the until now an unknown brand. The first whiff made me smile; literally, nostalgically, like when you say "thanks God" for bringing back my memories. I'm amazed how FOMO resembles to Gucci Envy: in fact, this one is much better than the GUCCI’s second batch, the (emerald green) juice. FOMO has this lovely vintage fougere/Mossy nuance; greenish but not grassy. Tendering FLORAL and an appealing SWEET twist. What strikes me most about this fragrance is this WOODY/SMOKY vibe, taken to another level; just fantastic. Just like Gucci, l get that Italian style: elegant and LORDLY. The performance is excellent (another plus). Recommended for formal occasions (weddings, religious, business) all year round. THANK YOU FOMO: THE CHASING FOR MY DEAR GUCCI ENVY IS OVER... Rate🏆

For context, I owned one of the first 100ml batches of Gucci Envy and I still have about 4 or 5 minis left to compare with this clone. Within the first few sprays of The Envy of FOMO I can tell it needs to sit for month to get some depth. It does resemble Gucci Envy, but it lacks the richness of the Sandalwood (I don't believe you can get that quality of sandalwood anymore) that was used in making the original. I can also tell it lacks the subtle backbone of leather and tobacco that Gucci Envy has. There is a smokiness that is missing to my nose. FOMO's comes off a bit cleaner. For $45 this is pretty great. Chances are that it won't smell the exactly same to anyone that has or had a bottle of Gucci Envy since the fragrance is fairly old now at this point, but I think it'll come extremely close. Still though, I think I need to revisit it in a month after spraying it a few more times. Update: this is already getting better. The Sandalwood is getting creamer with that smokiness I get from the OG Envy. I can tell this is gonna be great.

@Bboy555 You haven’t made it too big in your memory, I still have about 70ml of original formula and It’s just... perfect. I mean Daniela Andrier is a magician, she created such a unique scent profile. I have come across similar scents, but nothing was so beautiful. Eclat by its self is great, but side by side with Envy... miles away. Floris Santal seems similar, but it’s not very similar. The thing with FOMO is that what they did imo is a gas chromatography. In the air you may think that this is Gucci Envy, but on skin it has different development. I haven’t tried Covet by Dua. It’s a real tragedy that this unique scent is discontinued, but lately I have found some similarities between Envy and Le Parfum version of La Nuit de L’Homme. I would like to ha a perfect version of Envy, but the access to the secret of this beauty has only one person in the world.

This smells fantastic. However it took a looooong time of sitting to get any sort of longevity out of it. I bought this and 2 others from the hype and figured I'd never buy the OG's. Right out of the box all 3 smelled too good to be true. I did my normal routine with dupes... spray them and put them away for a couple of weeks. I wore this one to work and it disappeared almost immediately. So I put it away for a couple of more weeks and repeated the process. I tried it again for work and the same scenario happened. Did I go nose blind?? Nobody noticed it or said anything. I thought I got got by the influencers. So I figured I had and expensive room freshener (it still smelled great). So it sat and sat. About a year after purchasing it I tried it again for work. I could smell it all day at work. This truly gets better with time.

I cannot believe how good this is! It makes Gucci Envy completely redundant, as this is soooo close to the original it isn't even funny. It lasts all day on my skin with excellent performance, just like Gucci Envy does. Gone are the days of paying exorbitant prices on Ebay for a 20 year old bottle 😊 The presentation is also fantastic. The bottle is really nice with a pressurised atomiser and a heavy metal cap. And you get 100ml for around £30-£35! This is the best release of 2024 for me. Bravo Fomo, bravo 👏 Edit - I now have ordered another 2 bottles for safe keeping. The discontinuation of all my favourites has given me PTSD so I'm not taking chances anymore. Fomo Envy 10/10 💚

My teenage son sometimes gives me succinct reviews of my fragrances. While going through a few recent acquisitions, when he reached The Envy of FOMO he simply said “doctor’s office”. That sort of shook me. 😄 I didn’t draw that association until he said that, but once he did, I couldn’t really deny it. That said, I still consider EoF a very wearable, clean, masculine fragrance. It’s an all season, all reason easy reach. I just wish Fomo was a little more daring with the aromatics. It could have made what is an excellent fragrance a truly outstanding one. Still, I find The Envy of FOMO to be an outstanding value and one of the best doctor’s office fragrances currently available.

I still have 30ml left of my 100ml Gucci Envy bottle I purchased at Macy's for $65 back in 2004. I'm going to tell you all right now, I have the FOMO and Envy on the back of each hand and I can't tell the difference. FOMO has knocked their clone of Gucci Envy out of the park. Even my wife couldn't tell me the difference between the two.. If you are 50 years old and under, this fougere masculine fragrance most likely will not appeal to you as the age of sweet unisex fragrances rules this current time. I'm so glad I won't have a burn through my last 30ml of Gucci Envy. FOMO might be on to something with cloning popular discontinued fragrances.
- em inglês
I own a 2010 bottle of Envy and maybe about 5ml left of juice. The top notes have changed a bit due to age but I do remember it in all it's glory. Until recently DUAs Covet has been the only thing I could get close to Envy and that one is stellar. The Envy of Fomo though has nailed it in terms of smell, performance and price. £29.99 for 100ml while Dua cost me £38 for a 34ml. Don't spend 100's trying to grab the OG on Ebay or other online stores. Chances are the notes have changed and Envy of fomo has it so close you literally can't tell other than the bottle.

@mateuszolech072. I have also used the Eclat dupe from Envy. it does not really come that close in my opinion , but maybe I have made Gucci Envy to big in my memories. I have smelled the un-reformulated version, and that was already very different from the last edition of this masterpiece. The envy of Fomo is now on its way to me and I can not wait to see if it gets closer. I will keep everyone updated on this. I have been waiting years for this moment ( I hope) it will arrive wednesday the 23rd of Oct. I will write my findings here.

To reviewers that say that this is nothing like Gucci Envy: I agree, and if you want Gucci Envy, try calling Gucci customer service and propose the idea to re launch the fragrance. Having said that, I have been testing Envy of FOMO for over 6 months now and it will definitely remind you of Gucci Envy. Perhaps it will not be as sharp or as vivid as you remember your Gucci Envy to smell, but given the low price point, this fragrance is good enough to give you a glimpse into the old days of Gucci Envy. I enjoy for what it is.

Fomo of Envy is my favorite of the line even topping Gary's den. I have never put my nose on the OG nor am I willing to pay the discontinued inflated prices. This has a dark green throwback fuzier barbershop feel. I love it and find myself reaching for it quiet often even with having 100 or so bottles in my collection. I find it a SOLID 9/10. Glad to have it in my collection. If I were to guess, this fragrance targets 30's and up and leans masculine.

Until now I thought that Éclat has the best dupe for Gucci Envy, but Envy of FOMO is even better than that! Bottle is very heavy and the box is huuuge! Compering it closely to my bottle of Envy obviously there are differences, but the dry down is extremely close to Gucci's. They have done amazing job by recreating Envy and I couldn't help, but wonder why on earth Gucci won't release again this beauty to the world...
- em inglês
I am genuinely shocked at how good this clone of Gucci Envy is. I've tried a few and they've been meh to okay. Either they weren't that close or they had terrible performance. This has great performance and here's the thing. It smells more like the original release of Envy not the version that came before it was discontinued. Having the original I can say true that this is a great clone of Envy.
- em inglês
So just an update. I've had my bottle for about 4 months now and say what you want about "maceration" or whatever but mine had gotten way stronger and the similarity to envy even closer if that was possible. My Gucci dupe from Athena perfumes which is 7 months old is still shit. So take that as you will.
- em inglês
Smells super classy and high quality after some maceration, performance is on point as well. Probably best suited for 35 year old and up.
- em inglês
Same smell as the original Gucci Envy but not as strong, I recommend it, it just needs more spraying!
- em inglês
Let it sit for a while. For me it went from 6/10 to 10/10. I get while people praise it now.
- em inglês
Incredible recreation of Gucci Envy men; deeper and longer lasting.

I got into the fragrance game pretty recently; on a year or so ago, so I never had the chance to experience something like Gucci Envy. However, the popular opinion of the fragcom is that it was a masterpiece. Now I wasn't going to spend $300+ on a blind buy of a 20+ year old fragrance, but when I saw that FOMO had released a clone that most people agreed smelled exactly like Envy I decided to give it a shot. For a price point of about $40 it wasn't too much of a risk. Without further adieu, let's get into it; Scent: The opening is warm spicy, woody, and powdery. The primary notes I get are cloves, carnation, violet, and sandalwood. The strongest of the notes are the cloves and sandalwood. The cloves are very distinct and carry the sharp, warm, spiciness that cloves are known for. The sandalwood offers a healthy dose of its signature creamy woodiness. This is followed by the violet and carnation. The violet brings a powdery and dewy floral note while the carnation rounds out the opening with a strong, bright, and slightly spicy floral note. I will say that even though the cloves and sandalwood are the stars of the opening, the carnation note is bold and instantly recognizable from the first spray giving the opening a distinct floral accord. The dry down is warm spicy, woody, and earthy. The primary notes I get are cloves, sandalwood, patchouli, and musk. The strongest of the notes are still the cloves and sandalwood. But whereas in the opening the cloves are stronger than the sandalwood, in the dry down the sandalwood is stronger than the cloves. The sandalwood is strong and to me resembles the type of sandalwood scent you can find as incense sticks. This is followed by the musk and patchouli. The musk is soft, powdery, and clean smelling. Lastly, the patchouli lingers in the background and leans earthy and mossy. The carnation is still there as well, but it's a shadow of what it was in the opening. Performance: Initial projection is strong, at least 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was still at least 6 feet and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. At the 7-8 hour mark the projection was still about arms length and the scent trail was still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 10 hour mark. When to wear: This fragrance would be suitable for evening or daytime wear during the cooler months of fall and winter, although it could possibly work on a cool spring day as well. Versatility is high with this fragrance and it would be suitable for any occasion. Formal, casual, office, or dates, this fragrance will work well. Blind buy: If you like warm spicy and woody fragrances with a classically masculine touch, this is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: I'm gonna be completely honest; when I first got this in and sprayed it on a test strip the carnation note stuck out to me like a sore thumb. Now for some people that wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but for me I could only think of one thing; funeral homes. For those that have never been to one, carnations are the most popular flower that you will find there. That really put me off initially, but I spent the money so I was determined to at least give it a proper review. When I sprayed it onto skin I got the same vibes initially, but thankfully it started to subside once it settled down. Having worn it on skin, I can now say that while the carnation is noticeably there, it's not as pungent and loud as it was on the test strip. The other louder notes in the fragrance really help to push it back to a supporting role. Envy of FOMO turned out to be a pleasant fragrance that leans heavily into the classic masculine/barbershoppy profile of fragrances of that time period. Pair that with respectable performance, and you have a fragrance that a lot of people will love. It may not the kind of DNA that I gravitate towards, but I can understand the appeal. I can see myself reaching for this for the office, church, or other situations where I need something classy and masculine. As for smelling like Envy, I couldn't say. But if Envy was anything like this, I can see why people loved it so much. Side note; the atomizer on this bottle is top notch. You only need 1-2 sprays in each of your usual spots to get good distribution. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10

Here is my perspective as someone who has never smelled the original before. Also not the best at describing scents so take this with a grain of salt. It does smell like barber shop shaving cream that is for sure. However, it isn't just that. It's not as fresh and airy/aromatic as shaving cream. Think of shaving cream that is less fresh and has a hint of leather, not animalic and tobacco like in Herod. Also heavy on a nice round sandalwood. Didn't like the sandal wood in Lattafa's Liam Grey, but this is good. After an hour or so I get the pine like scent people talk about which gets more prominent as time goes on. In term of performance, the scent lasts quite a while on skin. I want to say 8+ hrs on skin, but not sure about clothing. It is more of a skin scent, assuming I haven't gone nose blind, so not a heavy projector. Not sure about the sillage, but waving my hand around I might get a hint of it if it's close. I would normally hate on the performance, but for this kind of scent I think it's better that it is intimate. I do wish it was a little fresher, not a citrusy freshness but rather a light earthy or woody note. I might layer it with something fresh that is not sweet. I don't love it a lot, but it is growing in me so hopefully it becomes one of my favorites because honestly I do want to like it.

Young people might not know the original GUCCI ENVY although this "The Envy of FOMO" definitely is reminiscent to the original one. (I still have the original one) I knew it's not a perfect 1:1 but I tested them to compare side by side, they are quite similar up to maybe 95% which is very good. Back then, I never liked GUCCI ENVY so that's why I still have the mini bottle to this day and I'm glad I kept it because my taste changed drastically and nose matured significantly over the years of smelling hundreds of different ones. Because it's impossible to get back the original one now (unless you sell your leg & arm and kidneys!) I jumped on the wagon to get this new The Envy of FOMO when I saw it and I'm glad I did! This new one definitely falls into the classic "old guy" or "daddy" type of fragrance which I'm in that age category. The slight difference from the original one is The Envy of FOMO is a little less bitter and amped up the fresh nuance in the opening. It's musky, spicy, woody, fresh only in the beginning and it's more aromatic green musky woody most of the scent life on the skin. Probably not for guy under 35 years old unless they have old souls.

Overall is a 7/10 My first thought was that this is one more blind buy that went wrong 😤 and even though i'm so many years in this game, i still haven't learn from my mistakes.. NOT to blind buy anything again...because off of my skin, all i could get from this frag, was a smoky/soapy sandalwood 🤷🏻 mixed with cloves, carnation and violet... BUT..!! I have to admit, that this stuff have something that is so addictive, that makes me wanna smell my hand over and over again!! It smells dated to me? YES! But at the same time it smells unique and very different from everything else out there! It's a like for me, i'll keep it for sure! Anyway, once again, a warning to myself and to the people out there.. - ALWAYS try before you buy - ALWAYS try perfumes on skin - ALWAYS trust your nose

I like it. Very masculine scent. I can not recall if I smelled Gucci Envy before. This is spicy woody scent. Slightly old school scent profile. Not outdated, but clearly classic men's scent profile. I get mainly woods and patchouli. I would say that this can be worn excluding summer time when it is really hot.

Got a 10ml Tester of this Online, as not widely available here in New Zealand, in the Hope of rekindling the Joy of smelling Gucci Envy. Close, but not complete, as I recall GE being more Gingery and less Soapy to my Nose. Still a Good Fragrance that I would be interested in Wearing regularly Going Forward.

Green, spicy, wooody and a little violet soapy. I haven't smelled the original but this is a nice scent. I do have a small decant of Carven Homme which is a lot nicer imho, greater dark woody body and more intense and harmonious spice blend but maybe that was true of Carven Homme vs Gucci Envy too.
- em inglês
Unfortunately I never owned the original so I cannot compare how close it is to Gucci Envy. Overall I do like it but I I'm not crazy about it. I have a feeling that the overwhelmingly good ratings come from the people who know the original and are a little bit nostalgic. Based on the comments and ratings, I had high expectations but I am a little bit disappointed. I was hoping for that creamy sandalwood and nice mix of spices but what I mostly get is the clove...and I'm not a big fan of it. I'm pretty sure that the cardamom and other spices from the original would be much nicer. It gets a little bit more creamy and smoky in the dry down but the clove is unfortunately still there and taking way too much "space". I own several other fragrances with similar scent profile and I will probably use those more often than FOMO. The longevity and projection are a little bit below average on my skin but I don't mind as the fragrance is quite "heavy". Definitely cold season/evening type of perfume. I would say this will appeal more to 30, maybe even 40+ gentlemen. I will also repeat what has been already said multiple times below - If you're not familiar with 90's perfumery, this might be a challenge. I would normally say test first but if you can get it for ~35eur like I did and money is not an issue, you might as well go ahead and buy it to satisfy the curiosity.

Time to burst the hype bubble. Is it a good clone? Yes. Is it Gucci Envy? No. This is based on a neon green version of Gucci Envy. FOMO is clove prominent. Ultimately, t's a sweet clove musk. Opens bit harsh but settles down quick. It's synthetic. I really noticed the synthetic quality during the mid and dry down. Envy is much better blended and higher quality. Its cardamom prominent. So sweeter and less sharp. Creamy sandal wood and zingy ginger. Anise in the dry down. Very different. When I first sprayed FOMO, I was immediately reminded of Envy. In the air it's also very similar. At the end of the day it is a clone, and isn't as good. Envy is much more exquisite, polished, sweeter, and brighter. FOMO has an sharper older feel to it. The box is ridiculously large. I thought I purchased a 6 ounce bottle by mistake. Overall, I will return it.
- em inglês
Just rating as a stand alone fragrance - soapy barbershop/shaving foam, classic fragrance. When I first got it, the clove was too much for me. six or so months later, it smells better blended, and I don't feel like I'm getting poked in the nose by clove. I have to be in the right mood for this. Scent is subjective, but the folks comparing this to Guerlain Heritage must be from a different planet than me. Other than both being a little old school/for the mature gentlemen, I'm not smelling much of a connection.
- em inglês
Came across this in my hunt for a Gucci Envy replacement and unfortunately my search continues. I usually give smaller houses and/or companies the benefit of the doubt but this just smells like bug spray to me. The opening is a harsh synthetic alcohol blast that dries down to woodsy notes with a smoky almost citronella character. The spicy wood is the only connection to Envy unfortunately. I would recommend Santal Floris if you're looking for something with a stronger similarity. Hopefully I just got a bad batch, because otherwise this is a miss unless you're looking for that bug repellent campsite profile.

Felt I needed to add a review after reading Bebe memes iii ridiculous suggestion this smells nothing like the classic beautiful Gucci Envy. Bebe memes iii and I do have one single thing in common. We both think the original Envy was a masterpiece but that’s where our point of agreement sadly ends. FOMO’s interpretation of the 90’s classic is superb in my opinion. I can confidently say this as I have the very good fortune of own both. Wearing the original envy on my left hand and fomo on my right as I write my views, the similarities are outrageously close. Fomo’s attempt of rebuilding accords using modern aroma molecules is genius. I’m guessing, and it’s merely a guess Bebe memes, Like many on here have purchased the inspiration fragrance and expected an identical 1:1 straight off the bat with zero maceration. One word ‘naive’. With modern ingredient regulations (IFRA restrictions), reduced quality of raw materials, fomo’s interpretation is first class. I have a 5 month old fomo and it’s an 8 hour banger from the first blast until it’s skin scent finale. Maceration is key with this to boost performance. Its strengths in terms of similarities are in the opening, and the middle. The dry down lacks some of the sparkle of the original, but the average nose wouldn’t necessarily pick this up. Again this is my opinion, but as I’ve already highlighted. I’m wearing both at the time of writing, Bebe memes makes reference of wearing gucci envy over 20 years ago. 20 years is a long time ago and unless he has his own bottle to hand (he might have). My advice would be read both our reviews and if you’re interested in trying fomo, buy a decant and try it yourself. 9/10 in terms of similarities for me. Zero headache, no alcohol blasting in the opening. I’m 52 and used to wear this out clubbing in London in the last 90’s, early 2000’s. Great times for me. Despite my love for this, I’m not sure fomo (or gucci) would be the reach for bottle of todays, young fragrance enthusiast, some may say this is a dated fragrance. You know what, it probably is in comparison to today’s sweet, strong contributions

gifted this to my mother for christmas as her favourite perfume of all time is gucci envy and she still holds on to a few millilitres in her 20 year old bottle and envy of fomo was recommended as a substitute. yet, these two are fairly different. gucci envy is way more floral, sweet and feminine than fomo's. envy of fomo is way more woody and sharp and has definitely more of the unisex appeal. there is a grounding quality to both, the 20 year old gucci bottle is actually similar to guerlain's mitsouko so far to my knowledge. the moss gives it a sweet earthy sensation, while envy of fomo is more peppery and crisp. these are pretty much the differences between the two and i certainly would not say they are worthy of comparison seeing as they are that individualistic. indeed, i cannot judge the gucci perfume since it's been so long since it was freshly produced and it has macerated very well during the years and the scent is surely totally different and deeper. i actually loved envy of fomo. a perfect unisex scent which i personally very much enjoy. my mother was rather put off by its unisex essence and gave it away to my brother but i just may take it back. :D i loved it, just will have to experience its full performance. will update this review once i did. update: alright, folks. i tried it out on my own skin, and let me tell you - the experience was TOTALLY different. the review above is nulled totally by this. it is actually a very crisp masculine scent, not even unisex leaning, it's *that* strong. just gave it to my brother who rocks it.

The hype (desperation) to finally have the actual real deal 1:1 Envy clone really did a number on a lot of people, considering how many reviews below convincingly say this IS 100% Gucci Envy. They’re wrong. Nope. This is not Gucci Envy. And to be honest, this bears all the hallmarks of why I dislike Middle Eastern clone brands. They always put a regional “twist” on whatever they’re cloning. As an example, Armaf Legesi is an ultra-sweetened splice of Platinum Egoiste and Drakkar Noir, but it is marketed to consumers as a 1:1 clone of Platinum Egoiste. The same applies here with FOMO. They’ve put a twist on the Envy DNA by adding clove and violet. This just isn’t Gucci Envy, it smells like a Gucci Envy flanker made by a Middle Eastern clone brand. Which is fine, but that’s not what people are expecting when they buy this. This also has that awful Middle Eastern clone brand “sheen” that smells of low-quality ingredients. Eclat 642 isn’t a perfect clone either, but it is much closer to Envy and, more importantly, much more accurate to the actual OG Envy in terms of not adding unnecessary notes. Eclat 642, while not being perfect at all, is still my pick for best Envy clone as of this date. FOMO will be staying unused at the back of my cupboard. A regretful buy. Also, what is with this ridiculous bottle? Feel like I could legit club a seal with this thing. 6/10

The Envy of Fomo has the vibe of the current blends of 80s and 90s classics that are still being made. They don't really smell like the 80s and 90s originals. But they are still kitchen sink blends by creation and don't feature the star molecules of many 21st century creations. The Envy of smells really nice with a mix of pretty and macho vibrations. It focuses in middle tonalities so it's lively feeling, not bombastic with gourmand or sirupy or sludgy base notes from the get go. Many tones, rather than individual notes, cycle through my attention. This is all about the blend. Congrats to the original creator Daniela Andrier. Now, do the perfumers for these dupe brands use mass spectrometers? Or are the noses talented in copying? I assume many do this on the fly, without a machine. I've seen videos of fragrance shops that have their own in house perfumer who can dupe anything you bring in. So dupes and clones can have some art to them, too. The Envy has a long-lasting, bright vanilla and slightly violet/carnation dry down that is old fashioned, a bit dime store fragrance, and charming.

It's been a few years since the beautiful Gucci Envy was discontinued..You can still get it online during private sales - but the prices have skyrocketed plus of course there is always a chance that it has "gone bad", been poorly stored, changed during all these years... I had two bottles of it myself and I only have a few milliliters of it left.. Then the FOMO house releases this thing...Apparently someone else was missing the old glorified beauties in a bottle :) They hit the spot pretty well with it and it's about 90-95% similar which is great! The only honest thing is that the first 10 minutes are an overpowering olfactory bomb - but very quickly the thing calms down on the skin and becomes a nice companion throughout the day in the style of the old Envy - old school barber shop vibe! BEWARE! If you expect something modern - go ahead - this is the 90's captured in the full olfactory sense :) Love it!

To sim0nsalas, I agree on the sandalwood - I think the sort of sandalwood notes we remember from the 80's and 90's can't seem to be replaced - either they were an early IFRA casualty or the process/source material became much more expensive. I had this experience with the original Minotaure - which had a genuinely bewitching sandalwood/benzoin accord. I never owned original Envy, but this clone is really nice to my nose and I hope FOMO can get to many more lost wonders - the original formula Opium for men would get my first vote :D Update: I did recently learn about the sandalwood issue - the Mysore Sandalwood that used to be all over designer perfumery in the 80's and 90's is much harder to come by these days as India has taken steps to protect the sandalwood trees. I'm glad steps are being taken to protect it, even if it means it's no longer in everything as it once was.

I wore Envy for Men a lot back in the early 2000's, so it's a fragrance I know well. In fact, I still have my bottle that I bought around 2001, so I was able to compare it to this FOMO Envy fragrance. FOMO is a superb dupe of Envy for Men. Not 100% identical, but about 90% the same. The Gucci is a bit smoother, but FOMO captures the rich, sexy and seductive aura of the original. Warm, spicy and smooth were the words that best described Gucci Envy, and they also describe FOMO well. Longevity is far better than the Gucci - I can smell this on myself for 24 hours with just two sprays (FOMO has a great pressurized atomizer). Even after taking a shower with soap before going to bed, the scent will not go away. It has atomic bomb projection, so go easy on the trigger if you plan to wear this anywhere other than a bar or nightclub. Gucci Envy for Men was never this strong.

I expected a cheap plastic cap and mid-atomizer with a 70% similarity to Envy, even with that in mind I bought it only because Envy carries a lot of memories. The packet just arrived and the box is massive, the bottle is heavy and the atomizer is Dior Sauvage quality. About the way it smells: -Envy -Gucci Envy -Envy for Men Gucci for men If you compare side by side you might find a slight difference if you have a very trained nose but overall it is 95% similar. This is alluring, creamy, spicy and masculine sandalwood. It was made the old-fashioned way. I`m so happy that there is a way to enjoy Envy for a fraction of the price. The fragrance profile is from 1998 so expect it to be something from the 90s before blind buying.

Bought Gucci Envy at my local Gucci store on via Condotti the day before my trip to Greece July ‘98. Wore it every day there for a month. Continued wearing it for a year or two. Always sprayed myself at the store... I knew Gucci Envy.... Gucci Envy was a friend of mine. Envy of Fomo you’re no Gucci Envy. In all truth .... it has 0% resemblance. I bought it based on reviews here .... bad news so buyer beware. That’s all. p.s. after 30 min I acheived my first headache from a scent! ears a ringin’ the whole kadoodle.. p.p.s. after an extended drydown I figured where I recognize this from: Rightguard spray deodorant. extra yuck

I got into fragrances after Envy was discontinued, so I've still never smelled it. Just never been somewhere that had a bottle, and I'm not willing to pony up to buy one. But every single review I've ever heard of this says it's my kind of scent. So I'll tell you what: If Gucci Envy is your kind of scent, this is your kind of scent. At this point, I don't really care whether Envy of FOMO smells like Gucci or not. This thing smells awesome. Full stop.

Not Envy, But those who love Envy it’s worth a buy! Now listen to my nose it’s 60 maybe 70%. Is it a great pickup that will give you Envy vibes? Sort of. To be fair this is just my first impressions. I will let it sit, and come back to it. But it’s got a modern old school green vibe. Smells great. Enjoy. PS this will not be for everyone so take that into consideration when making your decision. Also this 100% Masculine.

@theautumnfaerie This is a recreation of Gucci Envy for Men...I believe the fragrance you were after is the women's EDP version, (black vertical rectangle) also discontinued and can be found on auction websites for inflated prices, but not quite as insanely priced as Envy for Men.

More than suitable to give that 90's woody/aromatic/sweet/floral Gucci Envy/Carven Homme vibe. And for $40 it's a no brainer! Do it!! Upon first wearing it has decent projection and lasts 12+ hours as a skin scent that will project again when you start to warm up.

I used to own Gucci Envy in 2005 and decided to purchase Fomo. First spray and smelling it from distance, memories came back. But when I smell it close on my skin, it's not that. Fomo Envy is too arabian for me, too heavy and musky.

I've never smelled Gucci Envy. I find it pretty funny that a fragrance with carnation and rose is supposed to be "uber masculine". They don't even use carnation in fragrance anymore cuz it's awful. Men don't wanna smell like that.

Ginger and cardamom are two notes I love and both were in the original Envy, I have not smelled this FOMO but without two notes that probably shaped my love for ENVY I can't imagine it being close enough for me

Who cares "it's not Envy". I enjoy it for what it is. And The Envy of FOMO is witty name. Good lord, some people are joyless neinsagers.
