Forbidden Fig

I am baffled by the reviews. This was my first experience with a straightforward fig scent, and I absolutely love it! I will admit that it was not what I was expecting. It is definitely a green fig. It is a bit sharp in the opening with the grapefruit and fig leaf. I'm really not getting the lactonic notes that some others have mentioned. What I am getting is more of an upscale shampoo that you would find at a pricey day spa. And since I tend to lean toward soapy scents, this was not disappointing to me. In my opinion, this fragrance is unisex, leaning feminine. Once it settled into the drydown, I knew it would be my next full bottle from the brand. (My first was Nearly Nu, which I adore.) Update: I have tried layering Forbidden Fig with Nearly Nu, and the combo is absolute magic! The sweet notes from Nearly Nu round off the sharpness of the fig; and the fig, being a stronger scent, gives you a bit more longevity. So good! Clean girl heaven!

I adore fig fragrances. And after many years and many bottles I can say that this is easily the most figgiest of them all! It has everything a fig is - green, creamy, tart, fruity, crisp, warm, fruity, woodsy, leafy,addictive, powdery, and beautiful. That perfectly balanced unisex note that only fig can bring. And to give it some oomph there is a delicate breeze of grapefruit at the open and a subtle elegant musk in the dry down. This is the Must Have for fig fragrance lovers. Well done!!

Oh, my goodness. I don't wear this; not that I don't like it; but because I love it too much, and someday, I am afraid to be without it. I am saving every drop to a special occasion. It is a very special fragrance to "fig lovers". The fragrance is unique aromatic greenly and sweet and yummy. If you love figs. this fragrance is true to the notes.

Not a fan of this one. I mostly enjoyed my other samples from For The Scent of It, but this fig fragrance is just so woody and green smelling- not a ripe fig AT ALL. It smells like it needs to be left on the tree- it's not ready yet, which makes for a weird fragrance when the fig is supposed to be the focal point. For a comparable price point per 100 ml, I'd definitely go for Diptyque Philosoykos EDP.

Forbidden Fig tries so hard to emulate a green fig, almost to a point where it becomes just overpoweringly lactonic and unreal. The lactones in this are so strong to my nose that it destroys the entire scent profile that the perfumer is trying to build. There's something so disgustingly cheesy in the base, is that why it's forbidden???? I'll gladly forget about this.
