Mushroom Forest

Ohhhh yay Foras is finally in the database! So far I've tested this, Oxidised Rose, Summer Vine, and Elemental Musk. Mushroom Forest was my favourite by far, though I enjoyed the others well enough to make me also want to test everything else from this brand! Anyhow, Mushroom Forest reminds me of Ombre Leather Parfum a fair bit. They're not dupes for one another or anything, but definitely have a similar ozonic-leathery vibe. The mushroom note in this makes it smells a lot more earthy and fresh in a natural vegetation-type way (as opposed to the biting freshness of violet leaf as used in OLP) and honestly the name of this perfume couldn't be any more accurate because it genuinely smells like mushrooms! Like when you buy a punnet of them with the dirt still on - again, earthy, a little vegetal, ever so slightly powdery, and a lovely dose of freshness cutting through it thanks to the apple. Foras' price point is great too. A lot of niche and indie brands try to charge premium prices just because they can so it's nice to see one that's priced competitively against mainstream designers! (£24 for 10ml, £70 for 50ml. *The samples are quite pricey though - my suggestion is to buy decants from Bloom instead for half the price!)

What a breath of fresh air (quite literally)! I was looking for an earthy, green/leafy, mushroom-y scent that I can wear this season and the people at Bloom came through with this beauty. When I first smelled it in store, the vetiver and mushroom were the first to hit my nose and I absolutely loved it. It is exactly as described by the other people here, like you just walked into a dense, virgin forest after rain and you picked a handful of mushrooms, still full of dirt and moss. I bought a sample of this and funnily enough, I thought the longevity is quite bad, lasting no more than an hour but my husband begged to differ as he could smell it upon entering the room! I finally gave in and bought the full bottle after giving it some thought and now I cannot get enough of it! Interestingly though, at first when you spray it straight from the new bottle it smells very different. Top note for me was something citrusy, probably the vetiver and apple notes interacting weirdly, but the drydown (about 10-15 minutes in) is exactly as described above: damp mushroom forest! Will definitely get more Foras in the future, I especially enjoyed Rosemary Benzoin and Folkestone Green💚

Very photorealistic scent of a forest : moss, mushroom, wind, wood, moist, flowers.. everything is in it. Such a poetic scent and beautiful dream invitation.

Yep, it smells like a forest! A mossy, damp, earthy forest. I’m always intrigued by photorealistic scents, so I’m glad this one lived up to its name. It opens with this burst of fresh forestry, and interestingly I sort of get a spicy ambery-ish quality hidden beneath all that. After about an hour or so it settles into the skin like you’ve been on a long woodland hike. I’m not sure if this scent is exactly wearable in public, but it’s a fun olfactory experience to sample it! Foras is such a great perfume house.

Very unique photorealistic scent of a forest, you can really picture a mushroom growing in the woods, a mossy bed around it, dirt covering the foliage. It's bitter and earthy. Not something I would buy a full bottle of but I'm glad to have smelled it
