Confidence

I have to admit I was a little bit sceptical about the Förster and Johnsen fragrance line which was launched in 2010. First of all, it hadn't had any reviews and secondly, it was on a huge sale. But I risked and bought a huge bottle of It's All About Confidence for women. I have absolutely no regrets! It's a bargain!It came in a chic, stylish wooden box which validates the quality of this niche brand. And one can clearly feel the effort put into producing this fragrance. It's a magnificent, luxurious blend of citrus and balsamic notes with a hint of powdery notes. I have to say- I've smelled something very similar to Confidence before, it might have been a fragrance from Chanel or some edition of Shalimar by Guerlian. Confidence by Förster and Johnsen is undoubtedly well balanced with the best of ingredients, you can sense a strong burst of almost natural smelling bergamot and incense at the begininng, then emerges soft and complex mix of three flowers- iris, rose and jasmine. Everything settles on the bed of balsamic amber, tonka bean and vanilla. I could not say this fragrance is sweet, the most prominent notes in my opinion are incense, rose, iris and bergamot. This quite new gem in the world of niche perfumery is worth every euro! *update: I think I recall now what Confidence reminds me of! Shalimar eau de toilette, it's almost identical.
