Purpureum

Warm ambery gourmand scent. It opens with notes of coffee, tobacco, rum, licorice and slight cacao . The heart is mostly labdanum but also has slight magnolia, fig and immortelle. The perfume settles on a base of tonka bean, myrrh and leather. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Very reminiscent of the smell of a warm home during a holiday meal. Enjoy!

Purpureum has a rather heavy amber-spice opening, and then something stony and airier underneath, like a Gothic-arched courtyard. There's definitely a lot of coffee in there, dark-brown and sweetened with amber. And, yes, a faintly anisic purple tinge around the edges, but really it's more brown than purple. I find it kind of boring? There are a lot of niche amber-spice potions out there. This genre can get a bit gloomy and oppressive, especially in the summertime. But on the plus side, Purpureum doesn't smell bad, and it has that interesting stony quality and a sort of weightless inner radiance. In winter it would be much more appealing: a cozy, glowing, warming scent, with all the usual Oriental associations (spicy, warm, caramelized/woody). A sweet dark coffee with a shot of whiskey, enjoyed by the fireplace. The coffee/licorice combination, I think, dates back to Yohji Homme (1999), which is a much fresher, airier lavender scent, but has an interesting dark caramelized coffee-and-anise base. It sounds weird, but it works, and it's been repeated in a lot of perfumes since.

This is a complex boozy warm fragrance that indeed smells purple to me. A dark drink with some bubbles in it, sweet and strong. It has an amazing trail. Very addictive. In the end you get a coffee leather with tobacco. Amazing!

I find this one is very familiar with Roja Reckless Pour Homme, slightly leather - rum - tobacco, add some sweet and spicy from cinnamon and myrrh, not too fresh like Reckless but same vibe.
