Thyina

Unique lavender powdery scent, cannot be related to any other lavender fragrance. I have kindly received a sample of this fragrance from Neela via Fragrantica and I must say it was a fascinating discovery. I feel lots of lavender and balsamic notes, very comforting and relaxing. Warm and fresh sensations are beautifully blending in this complex polar scent. Suitable for pre-winter days.

Pleasing light woody aromatic scent centered around a nice Australian sandalwood note. The scent opens with aromatic notes of lavender, coffee, pimento and hazelnut. The heart is mostly sandalwood with added notes of violet, birch tar and amyris. The perfume settles on a powdery benzoin base with added balsamic resins and styrax. The unisex scent has moderate sillage and longevity. An unobtrusive easy to wear well constructed scent. Enjoy!

Very unusual and again relaxing as the other fragrances of the line. Starts with prominent lavender which turns fizzy like refreshing soda drink. Then transforms into light woody balsamic tone and then powder, very rich violet powder start to appear. Such a roller coaster of impressions and effects! But all on a softer tender side.

Thyina goes on with a peachy, skin-like sweetness. I feel it more than I smell it, at first; it's an aura. Then it resolves close to the skin into a tan, powdery sweetish thing, very mellow and tender. The violet is subtle; it just adds a slight daintiness or powderiness to the cuddly ambers. This feels like a cousin to Coty Emeraude or similar powdery 1920s scents. A few minutes in the powdery-amber chord is joined by a dried-sachet buzz that must be the lavender. It cuts the sweetness a bit and harmonizes beautifully. Thyina isn't really my thing -- this sort of powdery-amber blend is a little *too* cuddly and teddy-bear soft, to the point of being insipid -- but it's original and has a certain grace. Feminine-of-center, and distinctly vintage-y.

This is a strange and unique perfume. It’s the fragrance which most nearly smells of coal tar soap. If you like that smell (which I do) then this is for you. It is soapy and smoky as well as being very smooth. That is a combination of birch tar, aldehydes and violet I suspect. It is good for soap perfume lovers. Unisex and moderate sillage. If you hate coal tar soap, keep away.

So well blended that it’s impossible to disapprove of based on any particular note. Instead it’s a lush, creamy, aromatic thing that I just can’t get enough of.

Surprisingly soapy (aldehydes), cheap violet soap, rubbery fake hazelnuts and maple. Then more aldehydes and a plastic-like incense... Uh oh... Nope.
