Belle de Nuit Parfum

I adore this one. It opens with a sweet, jammy rose accompanied by hints of plum that feels lush and almost edible. Soft floral and powdery notes of violet, and a base of wood and musk gives it warmth and depth without feeling heavy. The overall effect is feminine and timeless. This is a rose fragrance that feels indulgent yet wearable for both day and night. I’m a little surprised that Belle de Nuit doesn’t get more recognition, and that the house of Fragonard isn’t better known outside of France. Although, that’s probably due to it not being so easy to find online in the states, or even in stores north of Paris.

If you ever get a chance to experience the 1960s version, called Belle de Nuit, it is remarkably similar to the gorgeously filthy, Bal a Versailles, by Jean Desprez. I can only imagine this was Fragonard's 'homage' at the time. Nowadays, I understand, it's their 'homage' to J'Adore, which is Nothing like BaV. Shame.

I think these ones was the first niche perfumes in my collection. These creations in the nice aluminium bottles are parfums. I was visiting their perfume store in Èze, France (beautiful village btw) and I was testing all perfumes which they was producing as parfum concentrate. I had never got that kind of olfactive experience before. Diamant was definitely my favorite and that was for long time my signature perfume. Those juices are really good quality, strong, thick stuff with eternal longevity. Parfums comes in three sizes (60, 30 and 15ml) and you can go a long way with these bottles! This house is so underrated but it used to be as well a little bit difficult to find and it’s not so known perfume house. But once you try those you will notice what I mean (quality). Diamant is a floral fruity gourmand fragrance and the main accords are caramel, patchouli, vanilla, rose, fruity (orange in the opening, plum in the middle notes) and woody but it’s so well blended that it’s almost impossible to say what is there. And there is a little bit sweetness but it’s not sweet like typical sweet perfumes. This is really overwhelming experience and I don’t remember how many people has been sniffing my neck and wanted the same. 😅 Even if it’s “floral fruity” the scent itself is really mysterious and definitely from another world than typical floral fruity blends. Belle De Nuit is floral fruity fragrance as well and an olfactive experience is matching with that definition. That is for women who really like floral notes. For me this is challenging to wear and I don’t reach that bottle so often but definitely this is same amazing Fragonard quality. Surprisingly these parfums are really affordable, I would say cheap even if the juice itself is luxurious. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. Very elegant! Even though it is quite mature (40+), I still like to wear it. I think it's perfect for a classy dinner, going to opera/theater, being a wedding scent or a classy workplace. These are the vibes that I get. The quality is amazing and it is sweet and fresh at the same time, exactly how I perceive white florals perfumes. I think it suits all seasons, but I see myself wearing this especially in spring I really recommend it!

sampled this at the fragonard factory in france and this was my favorite. every fragonard scent is gorgeous and well made but belle de nuit is so perfectly balanced. It’s definitely a clean girl scent- it smells a bit like shampoo but it’s perfectly balanced by musk.
