Bleu Riviera

I ordered Bleu Rivera sight unsniffed from the Fragonard site because I've been looking for an aquatic for summer and the price was so low that I deemed it a good blind buy risk. First, I have to say how impressed I am with Fragonard. The shipping was fast, they sent me an adorable bronze faux-leather tote and samples of 6 of their other EDTS. Granted, the samples are of the moist towelette variety, but it's still fun to get so many free samples. Bleu Rivera starts with a fresh blast of osmanthus. The heart of fragrance is salt water, floral, and musk. The florals keep the salt water from being too salty, and the musk keeps the mix from becoming too sweet. It's a lovely, well-balanced scent that feels like a sunny day at the beach (but no sun tan lotion). The bottle it comes in is super cute. The staying power is about average for a good EDT, and at $22 American I can afford to carry a second bottle for touch ups.

I love this scent. It was actually the first scent I ever bought, when I was 12 years old visiting the Fragonard factory. It says “for women”, but when I bought this as a 12 year old it was specifically because I found it masculine enough for my tastes, but not so masculine my mother would complain. Now, 16 years later, I have bought it again and it is just delightful as it was all those years ago. A perfect unisex floral scent for Spring and Summer, it smells like flowers on an ocean breeze. My only complaint is it doesn’t last as long as I’d like. You really have to give yourself a few heavy sprays if you want to maintain the smell for longer than a couple hours.

Bleu riviera is a shy fragrance when worn in cool, crisp weather. It winks at aldehyde and shimmers ever so slightly, but sits closely to the body and sweetens to hints of jasmine before fading quickly. It truly blooms in warm summer months, with sun-kissed aquatic notes and a hint of juicy oranges bursting forth. Rose petals float into the composition and jasmine curls open delicately. Though the scent dissipates by noon, it leaves a dab of sweet amber and honeysuckle in the drydown.

A great unisex aquatic floral perfect for summer !

I don't know how the L'Issey summer edt smells like - the one it's meant to resemble - but on me this little number smells very much like the original L'Issey..no joke. Longevity is good, I'd say just as good, or better than L'Issey. There are other scents from Fragonard that I like better, but this one is a perfect little spring-summer scent and dupe, if you like. It doesn't turn citric or too aqua and stays feminine and pretty while it's still refreshing.

Very much like Issey Miyaki scent - this is the only Fragonard fragrance I own that I don't reach for as often just because it doesn't develop well on my skin but when I smell it from the bottle it gives off the fresh L'issey EDT vibe and that's quite nice. Try it on skin instead of basing it on paper test.

My dad went on a field trip to France with his students when I was little and they visited one of their historical factories. He brought a sample of this beautiful scent and the matching soap, more than 16 years later and I still remember how good it smelled. A month ago I finally purchased l'Eau d'Issey and instantly recognized the scent, they smell very very similar and I was finally able to find this perfume again. I don't own Bleu Riviera but it has a special place in my memory. Can't speak on the performance but the scent is gorgeous, I picture myself visiting Positano or Capri while wearing it.. A dream!

I got this today, and was really looking forward to it since I just got Encens Feve Tonka and love it. This is nice, a soft aquatic floral. It has a short life span on me. If pressed, I think I prefer the Issy Miyake it's been compared to. That one is brighter and more summery. This one is more spring-like in the florals. Lovely, but not one I will keep.

I've never smelt (where can I find Fragonard in the UK?) this but it sounds like something I'd love. Has anyone been struck by the similarity of the bottle design (colour and graphics not shape) to the new Eau d'Issey Liyake Summer 2011? They are both the same turquoise with red corals. I love the new Eau D'Issey. Do they smell similar?

This is a very good quality summer perfume for a good price. It is halfway between refreshing aquatic and floral. The white nostalgic flowers prevail, yet they are rather immersed it the sea salty water. In the drydown there is a slight sweet note of amber. The bottle is lovely and retro.

This is my new summer fragrance. It's really lovely and I can recommend to anybody who wants something acquatic and floral at the same time. It's fresh and reminds of Davidoff Cool Water - but this is much more better. I LOVE the bottle and it lasts long!
