Cologne Grand Luxe

About 15 years ago, I purchased a small bottle simply labeled "Cologne" at the Fragonard store in Grasse. I thought it was funny that the scent with the simplest and most humble name was such a lovely glowing scent. Just last week, I found the bottle, and tried it on. I was shocked that the topnotes still sparkle, and have a juicy succulence of high quality natural oils. The herbs smell fresh. Lavender makes this just a touch masculine. Hell, it's still a great cologne. Based on the notes, specifically the lemon, mandarin and lavender, I suspect this is the very same scent in a much nicer bottle.

I am flabbergasted that people say this is a dupe for Colonia. It's not. Yes, it begins with a tart citrus-lavender combo, but it quickly transcends to a warm, resinous mélange or benzoin and sandalwood. It still stays suitable for hot weather, but it's much more sensual. The sandalwood in Cologne Grand Luxe is much warmer than the type used in Colonia. This far from a copy. It's merely a classic men's "cologne' scent with a twist, and one that is sold for an insane value at that.

I realise Fragonard perfumes are high-class dupes of popular fragrances. Vétiver is a dupe of Terre d’Hermès EDT, and Grand Cologne is a dupe of Acqua di Parma Colonia – all at a much lower price. I layer them with the originals and it works great. Vétiver + Terre d’Hermès for outdoor sports, Colonia + Grand Cologne for other daytime occasions. Been getting compliments.

Classic mens aromatic/citrus cologne style fragrance. The opening is a blast of neroli/ petitgrain and citruses dries down to a aromatic fresh cologne with warm ambery/resinous undertone. Really really classy cologne and a little different from the usual cologne styles with the added amber. Longevity is 3-4h unfortunately.

Looking for a scent for my husband i tried this: Great men's cologne for warm times of the year! The burst of neroli and citrus is so good and refreshing and then it grounds down to sandalwood. Great classical scent that make you think of a man wearing an Italian suite with a crisp white shirt.

Very nice fragrance. I was shocked at how cheap the price was as this smells very classy and nice for the price. My mom normally doesnt like a lot of fragrances, but she was in love with this one so its mom approved 😄

Increible perfume, válido para las situaciones diarias y salidas ocasionales. Buena longevidad, proyección en la media. Tiene algo especial que hace que te fijes en ella, al menos en mi caso.

Reminds me a lot Pour Monsieur Concentree or eau de parfum minus the creaminess, this one is more vivacious, really elegant stuff , perfect for a hot summer morning by the sea

9/10- The quintessential cologne. The main notes: Petitgrain, Mandarin orange, Rosemary, and Lavender. Fragonard Cologne Grand Luxe is a green citrusy scent, the green here might be on the edge of being too grassy to some noses. The lavender and rosemary are most prominent while the neroli and sandalwood round off at the base. The citrus blend along with petitgrain gives me the vibes of a fresh orange peel. This scent reminds me of Pour un Homme de Caron for its lavender and rosemary combination but unlike the Caron, I find the Fragonard to smell much smoother without any harsh edges. It's a no-brainer versatile scent for the retail price of 36EUR for 200ml. Every man should have one in his closet.

Maison Fragonard is a high quality brand everyone should know: their fragrances are chic and never smell "synthetic" like sometimes happens when you buy a EDP at such good price. I purchased CologneGrandLuxe 5 years ago on a trip in Eze as a gift for my mother: she truly loved it and still does! It's a beautiful smooth cologne, tasting very natural with a velvet-touch that makes it perfect for a woman too It is definitely a unisex fragrance! Me I also like it, I find it very relaxing, just a comfort essence you never get sick of smelling! Classic cologne of citrus and hints of lavender and herbs. Not a citrus freshie as it has other herbal and aromatic things going on which takes over after a few minutes of the initial citrus opening. Soft, well blended, natural, high quality. But between a like and love. I'm not craving it day to day. Easy to wear and versatile but will I long for it like I do Dior Eau Sauvage or YSL Pour Homme? Not for now but will have to test it more. Scent: 7.5 / Sillage: 7.5 / Longevity: 7

Yup definitely not a clone of acqua di parma colonia. Cologne grand luxe is light and somewhat sweet making it unisex, quite modern and almost youthful. You don't find any of the bitterness of adp colonia here. Overall good value for the money, just don't expect this to be adp colonia clone.

A spicy, ambery citrus. Longevity and sillage is not the best, but the smell itself is pleasant.

This is lovely, nice crisp citrus up top, a tad herbal and a creamy sandalwood base. The lavender pops on me pretty strongly too, which was a pleasant surprise. As was the fact that this is definitely not your typical 4711 variant, but is a very quintessential ‘Aftershavey’, type smell, that has a classic structure and gives that crisp clean ‘white shirt’ vibe. You often hear folk say a perfume is how ‘an Italian gent would smell’, well this is how a Parisian gent would smell, well done Fragonard for taking a classic and rejigging it into something decidedly more interesting

A classic eau de cologne with a natural decisive citrus freshness, but only restrained neroli blossoms. A whiff of lavender and other herbs add a little green facet. The white musk fluff or synthetic ambroxan often used in the base of traditional eaux de cologne in recent times is fortunately absent, but there is a hint of warm, soft, ambery benzoin. It almost gives the impression of smoke and incense sticks. The fragrance blends very well - at least - with my skin...as if saturated with summer sunshine. A cleverly good idea.

Purchased a bottle while vacationing in the South of France. I was persuaded by the citrusy top note (and the low price for a 200ml jug), which reminded me of one of my favorites, Acqua di Parma. However, the settled drydown is much more floral and too "perfume-like" for my taste. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very usable and pleasant scent - but I wonder if it would work better for a woman?

A very elegant citrus neroli, I am too young to make it a everyday wearing perfume, but during a hot summer day it is always a pleasant scent companion! Reminds me of Grand Neroli of Atelier Cologne, just simpler and more sincere in a good way, and muuuuuch cheaper! Good one, a must try for all the elegant mature men that want somethng different made from the Maison Fragonard of Grasse

It's year 2015. I bought it at official Fragonard online store and I'm dissapointed, the smell literally disappears after 15 minutes or even faster. Shame on you Fragonard! I bought it at the end of July and used throughout whole August and in first week of September in the temperature range from +14 to +35 Celsius degrees. I'm almost 40 year old white male living in Central Europe.

The beauty of this one shines in all climates . Starts with mandarin peel , neroli , candied lemon , quality lavender & a sprig of thyme . Then a balsamic note makes entrance and the neroli smiles for more than two hours ...great . A cologne for sure , but one that stands like the Cathedral of Chartres .
