Eglantine

I got a sample of this the other day (a little wet-wipe in a foil sachet), and I've been putting it on my wrists daily since then. I expected to hate it, because I'm not generally a fan of super-flowery, super-fruity, super-feminine fragrances. In fact, I love it and am going to buy a bottle. The manufacturer's stated notes sound about right to me, for what it's worth, though I'd swear there's also a subtle hint of clean jasmine in there somewhere. The opening is very fruity in a delightfully refreshing, zingy, almost sherbetty way. The middle comes on quite quickly and somehow manages to start being very mellow and complex, while still having that initial refreshing vibe in there somewhere. Lovely. After about two hours it evolves into something really gorgeous; it still has traces of the earlier notes, but they sit on something gloriously sultry and alluring that is neither 'skanky' nor heavy. The whole thing lasts around 12-13 hours, on me. Throughout, as the name might suggest, there is a thread of rose, which morphs a bit through the development but stays rosey. It's not an 'old lady' rose in the least. It's ageless and lovely. Overall, this is not just a very interesting and attractive fragrance; it's also probably the most *CHEERFUL*-feeling fragrance I've ever worn. It's a quiet, complex cheerfulness, but boy does it make me feel happy!

Successful blind buy ^^ I love Fragonard and their affordable but high quality scents. Packaging is cute, too. What’s not to like? This is a soft feminine rose scent, it stays close to the skin with decent staying power 3-4 hours, which is about right for EDT. I would definitely repurchase.

Adorable and harmonious. The openning is fruity and juicy with that earthy thang of black currant. With time it fades and all it's left is rose, big, beautiful, lush rose that fades gracefully from skin for a long time. It's less green and aromatic than usual rose and black currant centered perfumes, it's just the openning, after that it's all about rose. And it's not one dimensional or boring, it's beautifuly layered. Smells natural and effortless and it's very easy to wear. Great quality, as usual. If, after trying this, you want similar rose but with more punch, go for Rose Lavande. You will not be disappointed.

A gorgeously blended fragrance, I detect just about every note in the pyramid. This is a fresh magenta rose with fruity nuances, almost like it might go jammy, but instead it remains bright and clean. My problem with it is that it becomes too tangy on my skin over time, but for those who like that sort of thing, this rose will never become stale or stuffy. I definitely appreciate it. On me it has huge sillage and longevity.

Beautiful perfume - reminds me a lot of Grenade Pivoine by the same house. Very elegant and rosy - but not stuff or artificial smelling rose. Perfect for a spring/summer day. I could imagine myself wearing this for a cute spring/summer day date at the park or for a city walk and coffee, wearing a ditzy floral dress and converse.

Simple and enjoyable fragrance. If I had to describe it, it's an acidic rose scent (you can definitely smell a zesty tangy tangerine in a first spray), it develops into a warmer ultra-rosy scent throughout the day, though it has a very small longevity. I mainly use it at home.

Very pleasant scent. I'd describe it as light and fruity/floral, nothing heavy about it. Reminds me vaguely of Bright Crystal, even though the notes might be a bit different.

It is elegant. Kind of like rose potpourri but much brighter in a very nice perfumy way.

This one is very nice if you wanted to like Roseberry from Les Parfums de Rosine but you found that one too screechy and chemical. Eglantine has just enough blackcurrant bud to give it some fruity tang, like a ripe wild rose hip tastes, but it doesn't smell like a room spray like the Rosine, which has a huge overdose of blackcurrant and cassis. After the top notes simmer down it does smell like a wild rose, but since I have never smelled a true Eglantine rose, I will take Fragonard's word for it. To me it's like the simple beach roses that the bees love so much. It was a limited edition from 2022, so grab it now if you can find it.

Gorgeous roses, fresh, dewy roses with just a little touch of tart fruitiness from raspberry and litchi. I see the comparisons with Delina but I disagree because at least on my skin, Delina has more woody drydown and more intense litchi-fruity notes. Here the rose is the protagonist and doesn't give much room for the other actors. She is a plump, selfish, moody rose. Unfortunately it is short lived but I am ok with it, I don't mind re-applying this gorgeous little gem.

I fell in love with this gorgeous rose scent at the perfumery but unfortunately it is weak in silage and longevity. That said, it reminds me of my Delina (parfums de marly) so I think I’m going to layer it with that to make my Delina last longer. And for €20 for 50ml, I can’t complain.

Sooo beautiful! But I wish it had more presence - once applied it’s barely there. I consider “barely there” fragrances a waste of money. A divinely beautiful fresh, modern rose that not even the wearer can smell. Pointless.

A beautiful rose water scent. so sophisticated and very affordable.
