Fleur de Citronnier

Why, why, I ask every time establishments like Fragonard having all the power to create virtually anything would release a non-cinnamic version of D&G Light Blue in 2025...and to make matters worse, call it "Fleur de Citronnier"...Just why? There are differences, of course, but not enough to not think of Light Blue in 10 seconds. There is nothing "fleur" about it, let alone fleur de citronnier. It's a lemon X cedarwood bomb with Ambroxan and classic white musks finished with woody ambers to give a bit texture, just like Light Blue. The cinnamon, which is part of the magic of Light Blue is surely missing here, rendering it less warm and spicy, an eau fraiche version of Light Blue if you will. Fragonard - Etoile also comes to mind, Fleur de Citronnier can be described as Etoile with added lemon oil and reduced florals.

Yes, it is a remake of Light Blue, Versace Versense, and the likes. But it's better! It's more joyful and smells more natural. I find both LB and VV quite frosty, like a glass of lemonade filled with ice cubes. Fleur de Citronnier is refreshing but has lots of sunshine in it. It just makes me smile.

What a wonderful lemon....a mellow yellow kind of lemon. And a perfectly supporting cast. i could wear this 24/7

Great summer citrus scent and nope it doesn’t smell like light blue or Versace the green one.

Smells wonderful, very similar to Jimmy Choo Man Ice or Dior Homme Cologne

I received a surprise sample of this in the mail with a catalog. Saveria is pretty spot on that it smells of lemon cleaning products for about 10 minutes before it softens to lemony musk. I was on the fence about this one, but I do think I quite like it.Not enough to immediately get it, but it's definitely on my list. Gucci Bloom eau de toilette hits the same profile (admittedy at a higher price) , so I don't need this until I run out of that.

It’s pretty. Does remind me of D&G Light Blue. Perhaps more citrus and zesty. It’s well-blended. I don’t need a bottle—kinda redundant since I have Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love, which is also kind of like Light Blue. This is from a sample.

Smells like sweet lemon candies drizzled with sour powder. Some petitgrain in the background. It’s a nice citrus fragrance for the price, unisex and fresh. Don’t expect it to smell like lemon flowers, neroli or anything like that though.

Every time I happen to be in France, popping into Fragonard for a little something (even if it’s just a soap) is a must. I bought this scent on a trip to Cannes, right when it launched in 2025. It was a perfect refresher for the hot summer heat, when just walking a few hundred meters would leave you tired and sticky. It’s sharp and requires reapplication, but it was the perfect little something to throw in a straw bag and use throughout the day. However, when I brought it home to a colder, more moderate climate, the scent profile seriously disappointed me. The opening is quite aggressive, and the dry-down smells like synthetic musk. It doesn’t have much complexity to it. I’m fine with citrus notes fading (as they should), but I feel there are far more elegant citrus fresh scents out there. The bottle has now spent a year in my dark, dry perfume drawer, and I was wondering if I should bring it back for the new summer season. But it has only become more synthetic as it has macerated. I did get the soap in the same scent, and as a soap it was amazing. But I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying the perfume unless you have some sense of adventure or travel nostalgia tied to it.

The opening is extremely aggressive with a household lemon scent. As it dries down, this unpleasant effect fades, and it takes about 10 minutes for it to completely disappear (unless you put your nose close to your skin, in which case you’ll still smell it). The perfume then becomes more pleasant, softer, powdery, with a trio of lemon, musk (very present), and jasmine. But overall, it doesn't convince me. It's a bit of a disappointment; Fragonard had set my expectations higher, and I was expecting something much more delicate and refined.

I'm a bit disapointed because to me doesn't not smell like lemon blossom. Yes it's basically D&G Light Blue. Given the price point it's ok but if it had higher price I would be mad. Their Lilac line smells like realistic Lilac blossom so I was hoping to get realistic Lemon flower smell here also.

Lemon and ambroxan, straight up. I can’t stand ambroxan. I feel like this is a bit of a “how do you do fellow kids” perfume on Fragonard’s part.

Oof I love this! I got a sample of this is my last Fragonard order and lost my fuzzy little mind over it. The hubs paid attention and got it for our anniversary. If just arrived and I may or may not have bathed in it. On me it's a dollop of lemon and citrus with a bit of sweetness to it. It's *almost* lemon sorbet, but that sweetness morphs into a touch of powder instead. I normally loathe and despise anything powdery but this one, with the heavy citrus balancing it, I love. This one has a bit of soapy clarity to it that I love. ( I'm a sucker for soapy florals.) This seems to share similar DNA with "Melodie" and "Etoile". I'd go as far to say that on me, I'd call them sister fragrances. Bright fruity citrus with solid sillage, the lot of them. This one is "cleaner", Melodie is more floral and Etoile more fruity. This for me will be an "easy reach". I'd wear this museum hopping, at brunch with the girls, summer date nights, and days when the Seattle Evergrey starts to get to me. This will be one I spray my scarves with. This is grown up, but nary a trace of stuffiness. This is a white linen shirt and sunglasses at the farmers market on Sunday morning kind of vibe. I've never smelled Light Blue or the Versace so I have no comparison to offer.

Although it is citrusy, and vaguely floral when drying down, it doesn't smell like lemon blossom - not at all. None of the sweet, heady, heavy gorgeousness of the real thing. It is indeed a little sharp, a little detergent-like, and yes, it does have that Le Labo vibe. On my skin, it morphs slowly from Cedrat to D&G Light Blue. So if you push any thoughts of thick white flowers aside and concentrate on light, tangy citrus, then think of the price of L.L. City Exclusives - you might just be on to something. (But you gotta like ending up with Light Blue.)
