L'Oranger

A well-blended orange blossom EDP, citrussy with no sweetness, and greener than Fleur d'oranger from their regular line. Great and refreshing in hot weather. The salesman in the store on Bd St-Germain told me that when this new release arrived in stock earlier this year, the staff sighed. Another orange blossom fragrance?! But it's actually different from the other fragrances the house already released, thanks to the lemon-tree petitgrain and cypress notes that bring an interesting green and aromatic edge. He was right and these notes are the reason why I like this one. This was released for the Spring-Summer season 2026 to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Maison Fragonard. Here's an extract from their magazine describing this fragrance and the new bottle: "A bouquet of citrus and orange blossom underpinned by light woody notes, created by the talented Daniela Andrier. Already the creator of all of Fragonard’s orange blossom fragrances, Daniela has crafted this unique scent by adding petit grain bigaradier, which brings fresh, green, and slightly woody notes. This opens up really green and citrucy and enda up with more sweet orange in the drydown. I visited the boutique in Paris and knew directly that i needed a bottle.

I am not a fan of neroli - or any white florals, for that matter. In May 2026, I went on a trip to Grasse, and at the Fragonard factory (it's hard to call it a boutique - it's huge and includes not only the shop but also the entire production facility!), I noticed this lovely little bottle. I sprayed it on a blotter, and something hit me. I tried to rationalise it: Girl, you're not into orange blossom. What are you doing falling in love??? By the end of the day, I was back at the store. For hours afterwards, the whiffs I kept catching of myself were so intoxicating, so perfectly realistic and reminiscent of a juicy plant that I could no longer imagine going through summer without it. The opening is green and zesty, like a fresh stem of a white flower. It is the white, flowing cotton dress and the long blonde hair of a girl running through fields of wildflowers. It is truly the sunshine in a bottle and I don't make that statement lightly. Fragonard is the brand for anyone looking to discover what a perfectly natural orange blossom smells like. You probably expect me to say, "This perfume will forever remind me of my lovely Grasse trip" but honestly, that's not it. This perfume, even without any memories attached to it, is simply delightful and blended to perfection. Part of the reason I'm so ecstatic about it is that every other white floral turns sour on my skin - a fact I often mourn, because the only note that truly works on me without a fail is vanilla (far from sophisticated, but I've stopped fighting it). L'Oranger is different, and I think that's precisely because of its natural ingredients. I do worry that the juice may not age particularly well because of that, but I doubt that will be a problem - since I can already see finishing my bottle very very soon.

Another one ? They already have 4 of them. So, if you can't find orange blossom 'chez Fragonard' you like, than it's not the orange blossom that you really want. Or "These are not the droids you're looking for."
