Lune de Miel

I love it, but I can't wear it. It's just a bit too sweet and too powdery. I can't believe I just said that...I love powder! I don't like wearing this lovely perfume, it doesn't feel right on me. But I would love to be in the proximity of someone wearing it. I would certainly compliment it. You have to encourage people to keep smelling good. And I have just a friend for it. When a person wears the right perfume, when they compliment each other, it's magic. It bothers me that there is no freshness whatsoever, no citrus, nothing even remotly aromatic or dynamic. No structure and I like some. It goes straight to this huge, gorgeous, opulent flower bouquet that is layed upon the fluffiest, comfiest woody vanilla blanket. It's delicious ! I understand why some people find it addictive, it's just not my cup of tea. And too good to sit alone and unloved at the back of my closet.

I was in Grasse this past summer and bought many Fragonard perfumes. As I was dashing out the Fragonard store, I spritzed myself with their new Eau de Toilette, Lune de Miel. I spent the rest of the day sightseeing and thinking "Wow. Something smells great! Oh, wait, that's me." (meaning the Lune de Miel) Of course, before I could leave town I had to get a bottle. I was at the shop at opening time. I got compliments on Lune de Miel that day, and everyday that I've worn it since. Even my picky stepmother has asked if I can get some for her. At first, I smell just the fruitiness. The lovely berries make me instantly think of summer. Then, they mellow and the florals come through. I do not get a strong smell of vanilla. Fragonard's expert blending uses the vanilla to make the flowers seem creamy and dreamy. I use this as a day scent.

A very reliable and far more affordable alternative to C. Dior's Hypnotic Poison. As other members have already noted, Lune de Miel has also the great advantage of being much more wearable than its pricey counterpart, which means : a "rounder" quality (if it makes any sense), i.e. softer spices and woods, and maybe a little more fruitiness on top (blackberry) which adds some lightness, juiciness and wearability to the whole package. To sum it up : this is a much subtler interpretation (and not dupe) of CD's big hit. And to me, a big thumbs-up ! :-)

I open the sample satchet and unfold the fragrance-soaked paper. A burst of Hypnotic Poison hits my nostrils. I go get my 30 ml bottle of the current formulation of HP and spray it on my other wrist. I have previously stated that Hypnotic Poison is the best damn perfume I have ever smelled. Lune de Miel blows it out of the water. I look it up online. 200 ml for 39,00 €. This can't be happening.

I tested this side by side Hypnotic Poison a few times now and it's difficult to tell the difference. HP sometimes smells a little sour/bitter to me especially on clothes or my skin if it's too cold. LdM does too but not quite as bad. It smells a little sweeter and juicier and is slightly more interesting because of that. I think I prefer this to HP.

HP is a scent I have wanted since I was literally 12, but avoided due to ludicrous Dior price tag. Blind bought Lune, and oh my! She does indeed smell like HP but without the (nauseating to some) play-Doh/plastic doll feel. A lot more wearable, and a 200 ml bottle for that price, could it be better?

Add me to the list of those who think that this fragrance is a diluted batch of Hypnotic Poison. Perfect for the humidity of summer...less cloying than HP. I am satisfied with my purchase. And I will repurchase, if I ever run out. Rating: 🍒🍒🍒🍒🍒 Cruelty free 🐾

Love this perfume. It reminds me of the old formula of Hypnotic Poison, at tad bit sweeter. The vanilla is not overbearing, and it's not too gourmand, a warm scent balanced with floral notes. I'm so saddened it got discontinued :(

I wish Lune de Miel was in parfum strength, but this is still a nice fragrance. I can see why people say it reminds them of Hypnotic Poison by Dior but I'm actually glad it doesn't give me to many HP vibes since I dislike that perfume. This is not as sickening sweet as HP and it doesn't have the playdoh vanilla that I hate in that one. What I like about Lune de Miel is the berry notes are just there for support, they don't overpower the fragrance and the perfume is all about the creamy slightly skin like hawthorn note. I love fragrances w/ a creamy texture and I am a big fan of hawthorn. The vanilla in here is creamy as well and so is the sandalwood. Nothing gritty, or overly fruity in this one. It smells like white petals. This is an excellent skin scent, you know your skin but better. I would wear this year round. Creamy, slightly sweet, Slightly floral, slightly animalic. I would give this a love if it was in parfum form. Edit: 4/20/22 I wore this a couple days ago and the performance is good for a toilette. A nice alternative to Dior's HP. An HP for HP haters. More of a vanilla floral and less vanilla floral almond cake batter like HP.

I own the small 15ml parfum housed in Fragonard's black box with its distinctive cylindrical gold metal bottle. The fragrance is a creamy musk infused with vanilla, evoking tropical flowers and ripe fruits steeped in golden honey. The vanilla is unmistakably present, accompanied by a honey-like sweetness, yet it never becomes a sugary gourmand. At its heart sits a rich floral accord, firmly anchoring the composition, while smooth sandalwood provides a soft, elegant foundation beneath it. Despite its name, Lune de Miel ("Honeymoon") doesn't remind me of romance as much as it does moonlight itself—milky white, filled with sweet nectar, quietly illuminating the night.

Imagine creamy white flowers and a milky nutty note, settling lazily together on your skin for hours. You get it through the day, sometimes warm, sometimes sexy, sometimes gourmand as a flowery almond smoothie, sometimes sunny as a sunbath, sometimes cosy as an autumn evening under the covers. The scent is linear, as most of this brand, but is this case it gives you the feeling you can trust it, it won’t deceive you. If you like JHG mmmmm and Hypnotic Poison, it’s in the same vein with a better trail.

This is a good vanilla fragrance for people who don't like gourmand fragrances or the cloying vanilla scents you'd typically find at this price point. That said, I'd hoped for stronger floral notes based on the other reviews here: I didn't get any tuberose at all, and the gardenia faded considerably in the dry-down. There's an interesting sour note from the black currant; I typically enjoy it, but find it can smell overripe on days when my natural skin scent is sour.

I really like this au de parfum and I’ve bought a second bottle after finishing my first. For some reason it can be too sweet and cloying for me these days. I wore it a lot as a teenager but it has lost some of its previous appeal. I can hardly stand it anymore in winter and fall, where it just becomes too heavily sweet a scent to me. It has a pretty long staying power though and if you like to smell sweet as honey this is a beautiful one.

It is such an elegant Parfum de Grasse which reminds me of nostalgic years and innocence. Love the strong fruity scent, and I adore Ylang-Ylang !! I don’t wear it on my skin but I use it as an ambiance perfume in my bedroom, it calms me down and brings an elegant, soothing and cocooning vibe that I love. Plus the design of the pouch and of the bottle is immaculate, it feels niche to me. 7,5/10

Really close to Hypnotic poison for me, but without the side which nauseate me.

This perfume reminds me of Hypnotic Poison by Dior, which has more spice and almond creaminess. This one is lighter, the sandalwood note is more noticable and it's more casual. I like it a lot but I prefer Hypnotic Poison. It's a great cheaper option!

Fragonard is such an underrated perfume house.This is the forth fragrance I have from this house and I love it.It actually does have similar vibes to hypnotic poison I’m not going to say a dupe as both perfumes are beautiful in their own right.I’d say it’s more like a vintage formulation of hp and not the current formulation which I have.Lune du miel has a more dominant sandalwood unlike hps play dough vanilla smell.Absolutely delighted with this purchase similar but different enough to have both in my collection.

I agree with the review down below that it is similar to Juliette has a gun Mmmm ... I am wearing 2 sprays of each of my wrists and Lune de Miel is much stronger, projects better. It is not exactly the same but definitely very very similar. There is a note in Lune de Miel that stands out and is not in Mmmm - I am not sure which note that is - maybe the blackberry or the black currant? This is a very comforting and sweet fragrance. I like it a lot. Lasts a long time too!

Vanillery and complex. It smells sophisticated, warm and inviting and a little leathery. A very good eau de toilette. With remarkable lasting power. Unfortunately I have not smelled Hypnotic Poison from Dior so I cannot compare.

Powdery flower n vanilla. Somehow pretty close with La Rive sweet hope, but much more flower in it. I bought the decant. Somehow La Rive stay stronger than this. It might be due to the decant?
