Papa Cheri

28. november 2013 Went as usual to the local indoor flea market today and spotted full bottles of this fragrance along with Boucheron "Jaipur saphire" for a ridiculous price. I don ́t wear male fragrances, so i bought this one strictly for a friend of mine who runs out of his fragrances. I mean, 10 euros for a full 200ml bottle is a sin not to buy! :) Well, what can i say? This starts out as a very sharp bergamote scent (even bit citrusy, i would say). It lasts for a good 15 minutes and then morphs into some good mix of cedarwood and geranium. This is a simple one, yet very enjoyable. It might be even labebled unisex in some way, on a right woman it will smell very good. I like the middle stage personally, it is such a magnetic mix of bitter freshness! Yum! Hope a friend of mine will like it and it doesn ́t smell weird on his skin. Moderate sillage, HUGE bottle (200ml), average lasting power (around 3hrs). I think this one is more suitable for spring-early autumn season. I personally enjoy this one very much. :) Happy find! This review is based upon testing on a pale female skin, so on male skin it might smell bit different. I will repeort later if it does. :) UPDATE: (later in the evening) while it stays on my skin, it developed inbetween into something quite unbearable to my nose. Well, not exactly unbearable, but not-so-pleasant and bit disturbing. The closer to the drydown, the more intense is the mix of the carnation and cedar. It starts to resemble some kind of medicine scent, something you might be probably smelling at the hospital. It might be MY SKIN reaction to it, but i know some male fragrances do smell this way on me, i wonder if it is a chemistry or a fragrance it should be??? Later it dries down to a softer version of middle stage and is very enjoyable. I think this will not suit everyone, has to be tested first, somehow i have an imaginery picture in front of me that this is a fragrance more suitable for southern men and is associated with a dark hairs in my mind :) Just my imagination... And yes, it has to be probably reapplied, since it is not that long-lasting, but i have made only one spray, so if more sprayed then probably it will last longer. UPDATE: A gift was an instant sucsess: my friend liked it very much and he said it is more of a summer kinf of scent. Heś signature is "Farenheit" so he is picky, but i ́m glad it fits him as well. :)

I was expecting cherry from the name but aside from a bit of sweetness, I'm not getting cherry. More of a citrus opening with a clean woody drydown. Enjoyable if not especially distinct or enrapturing. Natural and high quality, like most fragonards...but also a bit weak like most fragonards as well. Scent: 7.5 / Sillage: 6 / Longevity: 6

Bracing medicinal cedar with the strong fresh scent of a geranium in potting soil. Lasted for hours from one spray. I think this would be an uncomplicated scent for a sporty man.
