Sunny Side of the Boulevard (Olivier Pescheux, 2019) Scentrack: Sixpence Non The Richer – Kiss Me Fragonard is a well-known fragrance house from Grasse that dates back to 1920s, However, for some reason it is not very popular in the Fragcom. There is not a lot of talk about Fragonard, reviews are scarce, and even their shop at Blvd Saint Germain in Paris is easily missed. I am glad I finally entered the shop, thanks to my fragrance-wise totally ignorant girlfriend who took me there because a travel guide suggested, I have discovered something I have been looking for years. After spending around half an hour chatting with a very friendly and knowledgeable shopping assistant, I decided to take Valentin home. Valentin was so friendly, optimistic, and quite familiar. Still, I could not pinpoint the composition that Valentin reminded me of. It took me some time before I finally realized Valentin is a take on the old formulation of YSL L’Homme with a touch of Orient. The opening is similar, light citrus accompanied by ginger. While L’Homme possesses a muffled spicy character, Valentin shouts. The ginger is paired with a high dose of cardamom and nutmeg. L’Homme continues to stronger cedar base, while Valentin travels to the East. The more accented Oriental character of Valentin gives another dimension to the composition. The cedar is perfectly paired with a cozy nutty quality of Tonka bean and a touch of vanilla. Wearing Valentin in the Latin Quarter is like magic, and I have not felt so enthusiastic for years. The performance is only average, but for the price one could reapply the fragrance often. Valentin is a small hidden gem waiting to be discovered, like most of the Fragonard collection and their charming boutique. From now on, whenever I am in Paris, Fragonard is the place to go. Just bought it yesterday in Fragonard store while visiting Montmartre in Paris. Its just an amazing scent for very affordable price. Great combination of fresh and spicy with just enough sweetness. I get a good amount of patchouly in the drydown enriched with woods and vanilla. Performance i think is moderate but i will update on that after more wearings. It is versatile but i would see it best suited for evening because it have depth and complexity. Just like someone mentioned below it does remind me too on YSL L'homme. If you like YSL L'homme and D&G The One, this lies somewhere in between with added Fragonard touch.

I have a few Fragonard perfumes and Valentin is not my favorite of the lot, but it certainly has a place in my collection. It's definitely a heavier perfume, one full of a lot of interesting aromas with a hint of citrus freshness at the beginning from the bergamot lemon and lavender, with a small twinge of floral violet and a generous mingling of spices like ginger and cardamom. It's intoxicating, and wearing it on a night out is sure to impress. On the drydown this fragrance takes us somewhere to the middle east with its incredible melange of woody scents, which include patchouli, cedar, oakmoss and sandalwood, coupled with vetiver and vanilla. The entire accord is kind of difficult to describe, but the melange is fantastically blended and gives a rich depth to the flavor, with layers of complexity revealing a mysterious and enticing aroma. It's definitely not a perfume I would wear to work and isn't one for general use I would say unless you're really the type of person who thinks they can pull off wearing such a complex scent on a daily basis. On an evening out, a date night, or a night clubbing, you'll be sure to entice people you meet with this fragrance. It should last through a sweaty evening on the dance floor and leave you smelling divine for that person you take home. It's very strong, some might even say a little overpowering because of the heavy mix of woody scents and vanilla, and is one of the strongest performing perfumes I own. It will definitely last you through the evening with a generous application, and even longer if you manage to put some on your clothes. For the price, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a small bottle if you're interested in having a special occasion or date night perfume to impress that special someone in your life. It's interesting, elegant, and has a sophisticated mystery to it that generic designer perfumes frequently lack. It's a memorable, interesting scent.

Fragonard Valentin is a great combination of fresh and spicy with just enough sweetness to keep it balanced. It’s a perfect pick for a crisp autumn day, though in my experience, it wears more like a body mist than a traditional EDT. The performance is light, but the scent profile is lovely. I get a good amount of patchouli in the drydown, which stays for about 2 hours once it's enriched by the woods and vanilla.

Fragonard Valentin... ...holds a very special place in my collection as it is the only fragrance which i bought directly from the factory. It was on my last vacation with my whole family after finishing high school. After that i went my own way. We spent our vacation at the Italian flower Riviera and the French Riviera. We visited Grasse and Fragonard. This blend smells similar to Armani pour homme and it is a very nice reflection of a true French herbal spicy fragrance. Unfortunately my bottle has turned which makes me a bit sad as it is a special fragrance with lots of memories. I can still wear it but it smells different. It has lost a few notes.

My amazing daughter went on a trip to Paris and brought this back for me because she knows I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ cologne and perfume. I love this!!! It is an EDT and what I detect as it opens with nice light & spicy 🌶️ air is a middle blend of citrus and sandlewood followed by patchouli and Amber .. becomes very please intimate scent ! I’m very happy with this gift 🎁 !

Looking for a scent for my husband i tried this and it's just a big no. It smells like if you make a basic men's deodorant smell into an expensive version of itself. Maybe this works with some body chemistry, but on it's own it's a steong deodorant scent. Pass.
