Vetiver

Fragonard Vétiver - I came here today curious about the reviews. I bought Fragonard Vétiver in 2018 and have been amazed how versatile it is. I am so impressed by the reviews. For the most part, they are exactly my opinion! That's encouraging to know! And I'm sure my tastes are different than a lot of the reviewers which lets me know how accurate the reviews are. I have been surprised by how much I like it. Other than a few exceptions (i.e. Penhaligon's Halfati) I don't wear a lot of unisex perfume, I'm pretty feminine in my choices. But Fragonard's interpretation remains true to the natural scent yet it is almost sweet, it is so beautiful. It is not overdone with bitter green notes. It is light yet you can smell it on and around you. Someone mentioned a similar perfume and said Fragonard didn't last as long - but they still loved it. Sometimes you want your fragrance to be a little lighter. Alone, it is definitely a great masculine choice but it is great for women too when you're in the mood. But, for me, best about it is it's ability to downplay a favorite perfume that has become too sweet. By that I don't mean vanilla sweet or heavy patchouli types. To me, it works so well underneath a floral/sweet which used to be my "go-to" and now seems a little dated and I have grown tired of it. I find myself reaching more and more for fresher scents - not too heavy. I love this with Tocca Florence or some of Jo Malone's florals. It is a great transition into Spring/Summer scents - to just splash a little underneath your favorites. I know some of Fragonard's scents may seem too simple or even BBW-types, but I have grown to love the brand. Some of their fragrances are my favorites. People have said that they copy the most popular current scents but someone else, who stated a few credentials, said that it was the other way around - that famous brands come to Grasse to see what is new.

How beautiful! An opening of earthy grapefruit, sharp, clean and soapy. It really is only soapy for a minute. There is clean vetiver and then cedar, cedar and more cedar. Sharp, spicy elemi adds a lot of body to the composition and almost makes my head spin. A soft incense moves in after about 30 minutes and sticks around. Mysterious yet light. The incense is my favourite part, except that all of it is my favourite part. Perfectly unisex and would be lovely on a humid summer day. A fresh cologne, cedar then vetiver, very refreshing for summer and though slightly more on the masculine side, I wear it anyway, it's so pleasant. One has the pleasant sensation of smelling cedar in the air and vetiver on the wrist! The grapefruit just adds an initial zing, it's not as prominent as the neroli and cedar - but if you want a deep, smoky, rooty vetiver, maybe with patch, this is not it. This is a fresh, spicy, radiantly clean scent, ideal for hot weather and very appropriate for its birthplace. :) xx

I believe this is the same as the men's 'Vetyver' repackaged as "Les Naturelles." In which case it is an extremely pleasant scent. Balmy, warm spicy, citrus, green, fresh describe this fragrance in that order. It is fairly long lasting with mild sillage. And the base notes as stated above is missing vetiver (duh) in addition to benzoin and musk... Mild, lovely everday/every season shower fresh fragrance with decent longevity.

I got samples of this, and it's not bad at all for spring/summer. Yes, it is so fresh and bright, poor long-lasting power but this is such a fresh scent of EDT so I'm OK. Only wished stronger earthy Vetiver note, but acceptable. Patchouli of Fragonard is one of my favs, and now this one is on my wish list. Their rechargeable flacon is also plus point. And their 600ml refill bottle of 63€ makes me grin :)))

I realise Fragonard perfumes are high-class dupes of popular fragrances. Vétiver is a dupe of Terre d’Hermès EDT, and Grand Cologne is a dupe of Acqua di Parma Colonia – all at a much lower price. I layer them with the originals and it works great. Vétiver + Terre d’Hermès for outdoor sports, Colonia + Grand Cologne for other daytime occasions. Been getting compliments.

Calm, harmonious, almost contemplative vétiver. Flawless execution and great quality. Behaves like a very high end eau de cologne. Surprising for this kind of price point. Pretty safe blind buy for someone who enjoys simple vétiver.

Of course there is Vetiver in the composition (it's webmaster' s mistake). An original vetiver not fresh as usually but flowery and leathery. Very good value for money, addictiv as spray in the bedroom and on pillows !

This is TdH, but without the citrus only the vetiver. Very pleasant. it is light leaving a subtle cloud of that amazing vetiver. Longevity wasn't bad on my skin, but, once again, the sillage is light.

A delightful aromatic vetiver, unisex yes but only for the peony note in my opinion, still leans pretty masculine. Grown up and mature too. At that price and quality, a great value !

Very curious to know who the nose was behind this fragrance. Haven’t had any luck in my search. If anyone has any info on that I would love to know!

The opening of Fragonard Vétiver on me is grapefruit and vetiver, with quite a soapy punch. Fortunately, it soon calms down into a creamy woody scent of cedar, fir and musk. Afterwards, the fragrance doesn't change much. It just gets warmer and a bit sweeter with time, as benzoin becomes more noticeable especially in the far dry down. Meanwhile, the vetiver behaves more like a supporting role on my skin, adding freshness to the woods throughout the development, which seems a bit odd to a fragrance named Vétiver. The sillage of Fragonard Vétiver is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 8 hours. Since the vetiver seems rather shy in this fragrance, I'd hesitate to recommend it as a vetiver fragrance. But as a fresh, creamy woody fragrance, Fragonard Vétiver is a quite versatile and affordable one.

I love this! It is earthy, "rooty", vegetal, and also substantial. Somewhat more masculine than your "middle of the road" unisex fragrance. I still can wear it. I wear it for energy boost. Often times I pair it with Fragonard's Fleur d'Oranger. Goes well divine. I adore Fleur d'Oranger, but it is soft, romantic, feminine... In combination with Vetiver it becomes more complicated fragrance that I can wear to work, expect energy and confidence boost and still be romantic and nonoffensive... :)

Balmy, sharp vetiver flanked by fir and neroli. The grapefruit might just as well be bergamot, really. The benzoin-incense combo gives it a certain silkiness and it is also decidedly fresh, Fragonard is a great company for pleasing fresh/citrus notes. 100 % unisexy, uncomplicated without being boring.

A soft, pleasant, natural, easy to wear Vetiver...similar qualities as much of this line from Fragonard. I'm not the biggest fan of vetiver, but this is a pleasant and easy to wear vetiver. I enjoy it regardless of my indifference for vetiver. Scent: 7.5 / Sillage: 7.5 / Longevity: 7.5

This smells so good...unisex for sure, leaning slightly masculine. Grassy...refreshing...the balsam fir and leather are detectable and I think that's what takes it a bit masculine for me. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE TO smell this on a man, mmmmmm Fragonard makes the BEST fragrances!!!

This one opens really similar to ''Terre d'Hermès from the earthy vetiver. Dries down to a (green) vetiver, fresh resinous scent. Quite nice, and worth sampling.

This is quite nice. I think this leans more male, but I think it would a suit women pretty well. Nothing screechy, well-blended.

I like it more and more the more I smell it. It has a wet, rainforesty, spa-like feel to it. Refreshing and nice. 6.5/10
