Milano

This is the second time I got a 2ml decant and the experience is pretty similar. First of all the scent. It is like a berry syrup with a leather undertone. So when it says "fruity", to me it is more like wild berries and some passion fruit but not mango or peach. Its sweet & sour, but like juicy syrupy sweet and sour. And paralel to that there is this leather note which gives it a luxury feel. The performance is fantastic. It is relentless. (as Im writing its summer) . Two sprays, one of which under the shirt and other on the neck and man it lasts all day. To the point where I think next time I will do one spray. Compared to some other Fragrance Du Bois that I tried, not many can actually compare with this performance. Some FDB I need to spray three to five sprays to get a similar strenght of sillage and then they still dont last as long. Also this being in the entry price tag of their lineup makes it a very good value proposition for this house. I absolutely do not understand what are people here talking about that it has "poor longevity". Certainly not my experience. I personally enjoy this fruity smell. It is very uplifting and joyful. I actually did not "fall in love" with it at first because at first sprays and minutes, well, it kind of seemed like some glorified room refreshner. But one or two wearings and it quickly became so addictive. If it wasnt for the leather note I would say it is more feminine leaning, but that leather really balances it out , its not dominant at all, but it puts it right in the unisex zone. Considering now a full bottle. //by the way , the similarity that people draw with Xerjoff Erba Pura is legit. Not so much at the opening but as they both dry down, they have extremely similar scent profile. I would have gone for a 50ml Erba Pura long time ago , because I do not think I actually need a 100ml of this scent profile, and Milano only comes in 100ml. But there is something in the Milano that simply draws me more than the Erba Pura so most likely 100ml Milano bottle is on the way. //Update 31/05/2022 - sorry but this is not going to be a FB. It just feels too synthetic after a few hours and kind of starts to bother me. As juicy and zesty as it is the first hour or so, after a while it becomes bothersome like some car refreshner. Def recommend to try since others may have different experience but not a blind buy.

Milano! Another great hit from the Fashion Capitals collection by Fragrance Du Bois! Starting of with a blast of bergamot and orange with a fruity undertone. By looking at the notes you would perhaps expect something heavier, with saffron, leather, olibanum, amber and woody notes. However it isn't heavy at all. The fresh opening is well balanced with the fruity aspect. Although not listed which fruits it contains, my guess would be passion fruit and peach. And to be honest, in the opening it resembles Erba Pura (Xerjoff) alot. Very pleasant since I also like that fragrance alot. Afterwards it does take a bit of a different direction. The leather starts to play in, eventhough it remains there merely at the back. Never overwhelming and never powerfull. The frontrow is still with the fresh citrusses and the sweet fruits. It is a well balanced perfume. Although leaning abit more feminine, it is still very enjoyable for men! I like to wear this one myself, even trying my very best to keep it out of the hands of my wife! In short Milano, eventhough not very unique in style, still smells very luxurious and gorgeous!

This perfume makes me want to bleach my hair and dye it bright pink , put on a fitted leather biker jacket , borrow the neighbours motorbike, change my name to something edgy.This is strong, but not overpowering. This is for that girl who knows what she wants, doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty , and her life has no limits. If you don’t particularly like leather, I don’t think this one would be for you at all however there is a sweetness from the fruity notes when it warms up on the skin, is it a safe Blind buy? NAHHH I bought a sample, and now I’m going to buy the full bottle. for sure this is everything! Once i sprayed this i thought wow. Amazed at the beauty of the composition. Fruits and olibanum with this liquorish orange makes this fragrance a true masterpiece. You get transported in a sweat citrusy candy factory, i get a liquorish note that really is mouthwatering, i seem to be the only one reading the comments though ... I do not get the leather vey very subtle i get the vanilla the amber and the heavy musk but the leather to me doesn't feel like the protagonist here. This fragrance smells like money and to me it's worth the 300 eu pricetag, i've never smelled anything like this. 10/10

Very elegant fragrance. It resembles perfectly the Milanese style. Combine this with your leather jacket. classy and sophisticated scent. I have smelled similar perfumes but this is the most well blended one. smells expensive. where i would wear this? - night out. not for a romantic situation rather than in a night out with girlfriends.

I haven't read such clueless reviews in a long time. What cucumber? What Erba Pura? I highly doubt the people writing these comments have ever actually worn the fragrance. Those are my five cents.

Very sexy leather with some fruits. Unfortunately doesn’t last for too long on me as i would like, since it’s heavy priced. But ohhh it’s so sexy that I’m considering buying.

A truly amazing fragrance. Beautiful blend of bright citrus and fruity with jasmine on top of a rich amber musky leather. Very balanced.

Sweet candy leather, dna similar to aoud leather by Montale...but this one is more feminine...whilst still being unisex. Love it!

Absolutely wonderful. I was testing this out for a year now and finally bit the bullet- amazing in the summer time. I already have Tropiques which I considered the best by Fragrance du Bois, however this might become number one. If you like ombre leather this is a great addition to your collection. Indeed smells like erba pura with leather (would never purchase erba pura- synthetic mess) , however this is not synthetic and just feels luxurious. Big price tag, but a nice addition. Unisex for sure.

I love this smell. I only wish it had better projection. The fruity qualities are pleasant and not overly sweet. The leather is not too strong but is ever-present, providing a tinge of roughness to bring some interesting contrast. Longevity is good but the scent sits close to the skin, which would mean it is better accessed in intimate settings. Classy does not mean loud. In this case, Milano is an impressionable, sweet and soft-spoken scent that attracts the attention of those near to you.

Fruit & leather. I actually do get a slight cucumber vibe, but what it actually smells like to me is a fruit that I eat in Mexico called the Tuna Fruit (it's in the cactus pear family) - it tastes like a sweet cucumber, and that's what this smells like in combination with leather and a bit of soap. It's unisex but I can see this more so on a guy. For a more feminine (and ~better~) version of a fruity leather, Byredo's Black Saffron is my ride or die.

Everyone was right in saying this is Erba Pura with a hefty dose of leather. On my skin this smells too masculine but on my clothes the fruitiness and musk is more prevalent There’s something strange in this though, as others say it smells of cucumber I’m thinking maybe it’s the thyme messing things up. So I’m undecided on this one but it’s a like for me.

the opening smell is amazing, has that erba gold smell but refined and that italian leather smell after drydown. this is the ultimate summer resort fragance

Fruitiness of erba pura with mossy leather, which cuts through sweetness. Excellent and underrated for sure. Great leather scent for women also

I bought a discovery set from Fragrance du Bois and one of the vials arrived open with no liquid on the tube, but so much still on the paper of the packet. That was Milano... I rubbed my skin against the fair amount of liquid that was left and that's with what I'll work with. First of all, if you are a brand that sells perfumes at such a high price tag, attention to quality and detail are KEY. The quality of the sprayers of the discovery kit is VERY LOW, and I can say the same for the vials, THEY OPEN WHILE BEING SHIPPED. Fragrance du Bois should offer the quality they are charging very dearly. Just for that low quality of the vials, I don't feel like spending a dime on Fragrance du Bois, they should use vials like Creed’s that reflect the quality of their perfumes and prices. This vials are Pacco Rabanne quality level, and Pacco Rabanne's prices are 1/8th the amount you pay for a FDB, come on! Now, about Milano. This is a soft leather that also smells like saffron and pepper. It's a bold fragrance for a woman, and a bit light for a man. It actually smells like a leather cowgirl hat, I find it dark, mysterious and it could be alluring with the right attitude and attire. But, I would say it's too overpriced. I would prefer Deviant from Wesker, it has better price tag, better longevity and sillage, and it's more femme fatale. Side note: I ordered a decant to try Milano again, and trying it the right way actually made me dislike it more... It smelled more alluring on paper than on my skin. It reads quite sexual in my opinion, dominatrix vibes. I didn't like it. That leather, even if it's a softer note than in other perfumes, it's just too much. I guess I just like leather notes on men. But that's just my opinion.

I have no words to describe this fragrance cus it's a solid 10/10 on everything Longevity 10/10 Sillage 10/10 Smell 10/10 It's worth the price.the smell of the orange a the leather are screaming

It opens up as Erba Pura, in a few seconds leather comes through. Stays on as Urba Pura + slight hint of leather.

I will leave a simplistic review but to me this smells like cucumber. It`s wet and cold kind of scent.

It took me a moment but I figured it out - this is Aoud Leather from Montale.

I LOVE the opening, green but still with a fruity sweetness. But then when it dries down I can’t stand it! It turnes more and more leathery which I have a hard time with! Update: I think I’ve actually changed my mind about this! I see this alot of youtube at the moment and I heard people describing it as a tropical sweet thing and I was like whaaat?? No way all I got was Grass and Leather🥲 so I got my Sample up again after a long time (was ready to sell the Sample since I hated this so much) and my nose must have really changed, I don’t really get the tropical vibes people are talking about, BUT I really find it alot sweeter and fruitier now even in the drydown which I really like!! I was so surprised! Will probably still don’t purchase a bottle cause it’s still just not my type of scent, and the price is.. y’all already know🤪 but I actually like it!!

Well, there is a marketing trick to attract customers, "let’s make the top note great and forget about the other notes" , "what matters is the wow effect, the sooner customers finish the bottle, the better". This is exactly the sickness perfume industry is suffering from in most brands and Milano by FDB is not an exception. Even though the first time I tested it at a store I got excited due to the scent itself, experience tells me to test the perfume before a blind buy. I am looking for a perfume not an air diffuser. It is a skin-scented perfume right from the fifth minute after the spray. 255 euro for a perfume which doesn’t know what performance is. I would definitely buy the perfume if its performance was as high as the vibe of the brand as a luxurious house is. Longevity: 4/10 Projection: 2/10 That’s all

#1591 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from scentsplit.com. Ugh! This is really repulsive and cheap smelling. Like one of the more offensive cheapies from Ard Al Zafaran, especially those "Pop Rocks" fruit notes so reminiscent of Ard Al Zafaran "Al Dirgham Special Edition." Once the fruit notes fade out both scents are no longer horrible, but still. This provoked the exact same sneezing fit too. At least get a decant before wasting $200+ on this dreck.

This suffers from the same, unfortunate fate as many of Nishane's offerings. Opening is really beautiful, spicy and green - easily full-bottle worthy IMO. Then, in less than 30 minutes that has faded into an incredibly boring musk. A leathery, slightly herbaceous musk. Extremely disappointing to me.

Mad RRP, as per the rest of the brand's lineup. Too much obnoxious Erba Pura, too little leather. If you like this, Erba Leather by Sospiro is the way.

To me, Milano heralds the dawn of when Fragrance du Bois as a brand started going to the dogs, compared to what it used to be. It represents the lacking quality and creativity seen in some of their older creations, and looking back, should have been a sign of the drivel to come. It’s Erba Pura mixed with Tuscan Leather, that’s it. You’d get the same effect by layering the two together. The leather accord is absolutely identical, and therefore utterly repulsive to me personally, with the only change being the raspberry is swapped out for tropical fruits. It smells cheap, vulgar and crude, it’s tacky and wholly derivative of other creations to simply generate sales. That is why I consider this useless perfume to be a demonstration of the downfall of what was once a great house.

Just tried a sample of Milano. To my nose, it was VILE. All I got from it was burnt rubber, a black pepperiness, and maybe it was celery? I cannot imagine anyone would ever want to smell like this. I couldn't scrub it off fast enough. 🤮

It's like someone put a bag of Harbio Peach rings in a leather bag with a open bottle of vanilla extract and shook it up.

This is one of my favourites from FDB and I have tried almost all of them. It is also great value for money relative to the more expensive offerings in the house because the quality is similar. It is very uplifting and I use it primarily in the spring and summer (wearing it right now and it is 27 C). The notes are very similar to Xerjoff Erba Pura as many have competed below, but there is added body from the soft leathery base. It starts off with a blast of fruits (melons berries) and bergamot with some obvious spice and a kind of nutty feel, which slowly fades as the soft leathery accord comes through. The fruity vibe lasts late in the fragrance and the leather is always very light and cloudy, perhaps because it is wrapped in the musks and amber and vanilla so that it is all very soft and pleasant. All in all I get about 7 hours with moderate projection (it doesn't become a skin scent until about the 6th hour). One of my favourites in my collection already and I have just worn it 4-5 times! I am surprise dit doesn't get much attention but having just been released last year I anticipate interest will grow.

I just got this delivered about an hour ago and sprayed it on my arm and shirt (hahaha even though the bottle says do not spray on fabric) and it was a blind buy so I don’t know how fair this review is but for reference I also got Siberian rose and it smells exactly like my decant so there’s that. Anyways when I first sprayed it I noticed the fruitiness but in an ultra refined ultra airy way. There is leather but it’s oh so faint and way in the background which is sad for me because I love leather and I bought it for the “high quality high dose of leather” others talk about. Maybe it will come out more strongly as my bottle settles in a few days. The leather is more of a suede and it’s so airy too. It’s so gender fluid it baffles me because apparently I’ve never experienced such a true unisex scent before this. I’ve always been able to categorize scents as more feminine or masculine in the past. For the price I will pray to God the leather note starts taking center stage and the tootie fruity notes just chill in the trunk after my bottles settles

As others have mentioned this smells like wealth in the best possible way. You don’t have to be dressed up for this fragrance but just out of respect for this sophisticated masterpiece, just wear something appropriate, will ya? Worth the high price tag. I’m so confused. You all say you smell sweetness... all I get is leather. That’s it. Leather. Nothing sweet. No airfreshner vibes No fruit. No cucumber melons Just leather. I genuinely do not understand Why would anyone pay to have - well- this? To my nose it’s a one trick pony Update: so for those of us who aren’t experts yet- the secret to this is to spray on your belly, and not on your wrists- I’m finally getting some sweetness after respraying. Still leather. I smell like a cowgirl. I kinda need a hat now

Whoa... Sometimes this forum really confuses me, and the people on here who experience fragrances the way they do. Some of you think this smells like Erba Pura from Xerjoff? Really? That cheap fruity dedorant scent? For anyone actually wanting to know what this smells like...This is most definitely in the same vein as TF’s Tuscan leather. However, it takes a different approach and it is rather pleasant smelling. But I’m not sure if it’s worth it’s price tag.

A very pleasant fragrance that only threw me off by its name. Its fresh, citrusy and fruity scents, with a leathery base, not leading me back to the city of Milan, of which I have a darker and not so light airy vision. It is still a creation of great elegance, discrete and over-the-top, like all those of this brand. Ideal for the warmer seasons, it will give a breath of freshness and well-being.

This is giving me cucumber. I'm shocked. It must be the sage, fruits, and bergamot. I have this on my arm and keep coming back for a sniff periodically and every time I smell this green, watery, fleshy cucumber....I need to try this again, my skin chemistry must be a mess at the moment, this cannot be right!!

If Tom ford Tuscan leather is doing cocaine in the leather seat of a Porsche, then Milano is carrying some fresh fruit in the front basket of a vesper, seated in a small leather seat. This is subtle leather with fruits. Youthful, modern, fun and high quality. Very nice.

To keep it simple, to me this is a bright citrus with leather swimming beneath it, mixed to magnificence. I loved it the first time I smelled it and immediately bought a bottle. I get zero cucumber smell.........noses differ, some people refuse to acknowledge that.

My most favorite from the entire city collection bunch. Leans towards feminine wearer. Very elegant and seductive scent. Longevity is about 7hours total and sillage is quite monstros yet fragrance remains soft and subtle in the air. Beautifully crafted

To me, it smells like an expensive shampoo that got spilled over a leather bag. I get something tropical and coconuty in the opening too. Beautiful perfume but nothing new. If you're looking for cheaper alternatives try erba pura or kirke.

Like a blend of Erba Pura and the now classic raspberry+leather combo. Tropical fruit cocktail up top with sandalwood, raspberry and leather coming in just shortly after. Crowd pleaser and very unisex.

After having this fragrance for a while all of a sudden I get bell peppers. I totally get the cucumber reference below. I am not feeling it lately.
