Oud Jaune Intense

First impression: Yes, yes, yes! The perfect balance of sour, sweet, salt and umami. Mouth watering, adorable. If I figure I can dig a huge hole in my scent budget, I will probably buy it. May be my favourite summer scent so far. Second try. Great but not perfect enough for the price. Third try. Can't stop smelling my wrists. Addictive! I had forgotten what jaune meant but it totally makes sense; it is such a happy warm, extremely yellow scent. Given the very average performance I'm still not convinced I will buy it given the price, even though I actually love it. I will have to ponder it. My fear is I will buy a bottle, then a colleague or friend or relative would compliment my scent and ask what it is. And then, unless I could come up with a quick lie (not my strong side) I would tell them what and when they look it up, they would lose every ounce of respect for me that I spent that amount on a scent instead of all other more responsible things I could have used the money for. I don't want to look like that person (even though I secretly am a bit selfish and irresponsible, not proud of it). Edit. I made a decision. This is nice but does not what so ever justify the price. It's not the love love I thought it would be initially. I will layer my Cheiroza '62 (which is very salty buttery) with Dolce Garden (which I find too sour on its own) for the same mix between the sour and the sweet/salt/buttery. It's very close to the same scent (a less soft version) and may perform better (I am a bit underwhelmed by the performance of Oud Jaune Intense and the other scent I tried from the house).

I tried this out in the sample set and thought it was wonderful - so exotic and tropical/floral and summery, but also a little bit powdery. It reminded me of a great white Burgundy Grand Crus in a hot weather year, which makes the wines more sweet and tropical, with white flowers and coconut. But for me it is too feminine, so I bought Oud Orange Intense instead (now I will have Bleu, Noir, Orange and Milano). But I love this scent so much that I gave my sample to my wife and now will see if she likes it enough for a full bottle. Regarding Sasha Beer, a comment below complained about her service, but I only had a positive experience. I ordered Noir and Orange and after a few days it had not shipped so I asked why and she came back immediately and offered me a split order or a refund, because Orange was back ordered. I then asked how long the backorder was and she answered immediately, saying it would be 2 weeks or more because of supply chain issues. So I opted for a refund on the Orange, which I received immediately, and then they shipped out the Noir immediately with a free sample of my choice. I then bought Orange from Selfridges. My Noir has already shipped and will get it Monday. So great service and thanks to Sasha Beer for sorting my order out so quickly and professionally. Supply chain issues happen! Even big brands like my favourites John Varvatos and Arcona Skin Care (Beverley Hills) have been impacted by COVID.

Yes...at $695+ (USD) for a 100 ml bottle, it is stupid-expensive... With that being said, I cannot deny the mesmerizing power of this scent...Oud Jaune Intense is magical: Tropical Heaven, period. It is undeniably one of the best in my collection. Yes, I personally find the price outrageous, however, you have to consider several things here: Scent: Like I said: Tropical Paradise and then some...Fruits, florals, transporting and mesmerizing. I spray this and it takes me straight to Summer-that-never-ends-Island... Longevity: 12+ hours on my skin, days on my clothes Projection: Quite strong but not nuclear as I HATE perfumes that project long before I enter a room. Sillage: Strong as well and be prepared for compliments or complaints depending on who’s sniffing you... Price: Yes, this is stupid, I know. For me, personally, I wanted it badly enough that I waited a long time (about a year to be more precise), before I finally got it... In the end, please do not blind buy Oud Jaune Intense no matter what the YouTubers say, no matter what I say, no matter what anyone claims including Fragrance Du Bois. Find a sample, try it, sniff it and experience it. Then make your well informed decision. That’s my humble advice.

I love a nice sweet scent and enjoy tiare flower, but this is too syrupy for my taste. I really love Santal Complet and the Fragrance du Bois DNA is present underneath, but it is a sweet fruit salad and honey bomb. For the price it smells underwhelming and overwhelming. IMO not unique or sophisticated enough to make it worth the investment. Update: I initially tested this as we transitioned from warm summer to the early days of fall. The weather was cooling, but realized had not cooled enough for this fragrance. I mistakenly thought this would be a summer scent as the idea of coconut and tiare made me think this should be a vacation scent. For me, testing in warm weather was too much. But, in cooler weather this fragrance shines! I see the beauty now, strangely what was overwhelming sweetness is now deeply honeyed and complex. Luckily I did not toss this and gave it another go in different weather. Thanks to the other reviews I held on and glad I did!

So had to edit my review a bit after giving it a fair shot and wearing it for sometime. Bought a sample by Demi Rawlings recommendations since she’s the one who introduced me to the love of my life Mon Parfum Cristal, she mention If you like one you will most likely like this one too, and for me it’s still not the case, first it has nothing to do with mon parfum Cristal, and I think it’s all about the dry down for this one, it does mellow down in to a nice feminine scent, but Tiare is very strong note here and now I know for sure I don’t like it. It has a sunscreen vibe. I can’t wrap my mind around on the price either. It is not worth the price tag, you can totally dupe it for much cheaper just because of that strong Tiare flower note. Slightly reminds me of the Nuxe oil. I’m looking forward discovering other scent from this house, I do like Santal Complete a lot(:

It appears I am in the minority on this, but I for one am in love with this fragrance! It is absolutely STUNNING!! I would love to add a full bottle to my collection, but at the price, unfortunately I don't think it's practical.. I would likely pick up a few high quality bottles versus just this one. However, I do find this fragrance to be stunning! It smells very RICH to me... warm, and lovely! I don't see it under the "this fragrance reminds me of" section, but to ME, it is similar to Ylang Ylang Nosy Be. I'd almost say that Oud Jaune Intense is the evening version of Ylang Ylang Nosy Be. Anywho, at the price of Nosy Be, I'd probably pick up Oud Jaune Intense! But, sadly that is not the case. Judging the fragrance separately from the cost, I do find it to be quite lovely. A bit more INTOXICATING in some way...! I will enjoy my decant!

For me it is rather repulsive. What I smell is some plastic, synthetic, sweet strawberry bubblegum. in some whiffs I even detect some similarities with cleaning detergents. Sorry. Despite it is intense, it doesn't last very long. Fortunately. P. S. After few months I am starting to like it. It might be the heat, which made it worse smelling. Now, as it is colder, and I got used to Tiare smell from other fragrances, I like it. BUT. I think you can make a similar concoction with mixing up the fragrances, like Montale Intense Tiare/Isnard Moco + some fruity, coconut - y vanillas. Maybe Memo Paris Tamarindo? I haven't smelled it yet, but it seems to have pineapple, or Aerin Hibiscus Palm? I know it will not smell THAT luxurious, but FdB are just too expensive 🙄😐

I blind bought this one, not really sure what to expect. The delivery from the website was pretty fast and smooth. On the first sniff, I was a bit disappointed because its character was like a generic female fragrance you can find at a cheaper price. However, the more I wear it, the more I love it. There is something about it that got me so addicted. The quality is high (as you would expect from the price.) It's fruity, floral, sweet and creamy in the perfect balance. It's not the most unique perfume I would say but it is perfect for what it is. To have 'oud' in its name, I got it very faintly in the dry down. If you like other notes, but not oud, you definitely need to check it out.

Guys! I have to write again. I purchased Guerlain Terracotta just yesterday. And it reminded me of something.... 😁 And I have another fragrance, Ouai Melrose Place, which also reminded me of FdB Oud Jaune Intense. Now, I compared them to each other. It turns out that if you combine Terracotta, which has a perfect tropical base without being too sweet AND Melrose Place, which is effervescently sweet, you'll get 80-90% similarity with FdB Oud Jaune Intense. Of course it is not a replacement, but FdB are just really expensive. If you like the overall Oud Jaune Intense smell and feeling and want to imitate it, try this! You will not be disappointed 😁👍

This perfume made my summer nights in Greece even more magical! Now that’s all I want to wear on vacation. It is a tropical fruity floral scent. It is heavy on the ylang ylang which I love but it can be off putting for some people. To my nose this is a feminine perfume. The pineapple together with other fruity notes (I smell banana!) make you smell like a tropical smoothie or cocktail. The longevity is great. I was spraying it before dinner and I could still smell it in the morning on me and on my bed sheets! Sillage is moderate. I got a compliment too. I finished my 9 ml decant and i’ll probably get a full bottle for my next beachy vacation.

Three Words: Fruity Body Wash Don't get me wrong, this is a VERY upscale body wash. You would only find it at the finest, most expensive resorts in the world. The kind of resorts that billionaires stay at when they travel. The fruitiness is fresh, the orange is tangy, the tahitian tiare gives it a beachy vibe. Your skin smells clean and crisp after you use it and you can still smell the soapsuds hours after your shower. But at the end of the day, it's still a body wash. If you love soapy scents, you will fall in love with this. Perfect for spring/summer and very pretty but not for me. Lastly, this leans very feminine.

I just got my decant and wow is it good! I was a little worried about the oud but it is perfect in here not to Smokey or ashy or harsh at all. The dry down is gorgeous. Really a masterpiece in my opinion. I own over 300 bottles of perfume so I have similar smelling ones but this is so lovely. The quality is definitely there compared to cheaper ones... but only a seasoned nose may pick that up. It’s a lovely tropical day or evening scent. Worth the 400$ price tag... in my opinion yes, but there are scents similar to this at half that price for those that can’t justify that $ tag

Luscious, calm and expensive smelling. Blending in this one is on a whole another level. I had some hard times breaking it down into notes. It smells like vacation in Hawaii. Tiare flower with light salty touch is the most prominent note to my nose. It doesn't scream at you or your environment, instead it purrs. All I can think of is sophisticated AF. As pretty as it's expensive :) update: this stuff has been butchered by the brand!!!! new releases with black/golden label are not the same as initial fragrances with goden stickers. it's not nearly as good as it was.

This is not a scent I’d have purchased based on reviews or listed notes etc. It’s not in my normal wheel house but after visiting a perfumery and sampling the Dubois offerings I simply fell in love. This is a beautiful Spring/Summer floral with a high level of expert mixology. I’m smitten. It’s beautiful, long lasting and lingers just enough when you leave the room. Very feminine in a sea of Ouds that are just too damn Oudy. Honestly I don’t get much Oud from this at all. The Oud is just the frame enhancing this beautiful piece of art perfumery.

Absolutely shocked that coconut isn't included in the notes - it's possible that the other tropical notes are giving me a false impression of a creamy coconut. But it is SO BEAUTIFUL - the florals are sweet and delicate, and the fruity notes smell edible. It's name describes it so well, it really makes me think of yellow tropical flowers, and warm yellow sun. This fragrance is a showstopper, I've had people asking me about it left and right, and can't see myself without a bottle in my collection.

i find this too cloying sprayed directly on skin, even worse on clothes (bad idea guys, as general rule never spray perfume on clothes, perfume needs heat from skin to come alive), that ive found a way to beautifully wear this belle of a perfume (again, the beast if u overspray): apply a small amount of non scented oil on ur palm, spritz a spray onto it, rub ur hands together and apply the oil on ur body (chest, neck and collar bones). it brings out the coconutty beachiness even more. try it!

I live in a tropical country and this is one of those perfumes that shine in warm weather. It’s just so bright, beautiful and classy. The oud is here is smooth and high quality, the white and yellow flowers mesh really well with the sweet and creamy vanilla. Performance on me is top notch as what I have is the old formulation, not sure how the latest batches fare now. Definitely belongs to my top 5 for life. I just love it.

This has had me pining for it since I first smelt it 2 yrs ago and I finally bit the bullet and bought it. It is a beautiful fruity flowery, oud, which works so well with my skin chemistry. Im not usually an oud fan but because its barely there, its ok. Perfect for those who like a similar scent. It reminds me greatly of the new scent by PDM Athenias and has a similar (to me anyway) DNA. Absolutely love jt

This is my first review on this website. Gosh, I was given a sample of this from my friend and I'm obsessed with this scent! It's beautiful, for me the pineapple and ylang - ylang is very prominent and dries down to a beautiful vanilla. It's giving me the kind of summer tropical getaway at the Bahamas. I wouldn't think twice to get this if it weren't for the price tag, a remarkable creation from FDB.

I recently smelled Strangers Chokedee which is a Coconut, Frangipani, rice, nutty jasmine masterpiece. The yellow floral in this reminds me of that but where as Chokedee goes edible gourmand, this goes white floral. I did get something tuberose in the scent-- surprised it's not listed. Like a more white floral chokedee OR a more yellow Floral tropical Rouge Malachite.

Incredible candied jasmine with pineapple. I was testing other perfumes and my hands were full of blotters, when i got home, the only thing i could smell was Oud Jaune. Incredible performance. I usually don't like jasmine but this somehow is addictive. Super clean, candied white flower scent and i don't smell any oud like others have noted. On my wish list.

Gorgeous tropical heaven! Pure, soft, natural tropical flowers and fruits. Feminin. On my skin it actually smells quite similar to Parfums de Marly Safanad, they are definitely in the same family. Oud Jaune intense is what an upgraded tropical version of Safanad would smell like... Safanad exclusif? :)

I have Oud Jaune, Oud Rose & Sahraa Oud from FDB in my collection. From the three, Oud Jaune is simply the best, immediatelly climb to my to three rating in my whole collection. What a superb smelling perfume backed-up with good performance. Simply the best from the house of Fragrance Du Bois...Bravo

I’ve been vacationing to Hawaii annually since I was a little girl. When I first tested OJI it put the biggest smile on my face. Full fatty Tiare and pineapple. Blended to perfection! I just wish the sillage was louder, this tends to be closer to the skin for me. Still gorgeous and super luxe.

oud heaven. slightly sour lemon-lime zest tempering aquaeous fruits from melting into the Hawaiian Punch zone. tropical nectars mingle with just the right planks of oud, vanilla pod, and musk to keep them soft and natural without a molten erruption of honey pollen. gorgeous in humid weather.

I thought for sure there was coconut in here. But it’s the tiare flower I’m smelling. Definitely comes off tropical. I get a lot of fruitiness. Overall a sweet fruity tropical floral. Not worth the price tag!! Terracotta will suit my tropical cravings, without the fruit.

That used to be my favorite summer scent ever and they’ve ruined it 😩 Why do they need to reformulate and destroy magnificent scents? I am willing to buy any old (3-4 years old) bottles or partials from anyone that has the older formulation and is willing to sell.

Best tropical scent I’ve ever tried. It smells delicious and luxurious. I would not include this fragrance in the category of other nice tropical fragrances that may smell like “expensive lotion or sunscreen”. This is different. It is absolutely stunning.

This is one sexy MFer. My favourite from the house so far. The Oud is noticeable, but it's only there for some depth and support as it's surrounded by possibly the best fruity cocktail I've ever smelled. I agree that the prices are outrageous. 10/10

This is my first purchase from Frangrance Du Bois, and I like it. I do get a lot of jasmine but that first spray is like a whoa....It somewhat reminded me Carolina Herrera, but just elevated. I used a code for discount so Im happy with that...

Strong jasmine smell. Nothing special about this. It reminds me of a lotion sold at various convenience stores and airport in Maui. Very long lasting, had to scrub it off my arm.

A fruity tropical beachy summer scent. Are you worth almost 10x Intense Tiare from Montale? Probably not. Do I still want you? Kinda eeek!

Smells like Parfums De Marly Meliora or YSL Libre. Just got my wife a bottle of these juices and she loves them.

one spray on the chest is all you ever need. so just buy the smallest bottle (or decant) and call it a day 😘

a very nice summer floral fragrance. very tropical. use with caution

First a short description of the scent for those who can't bear to read the whole review: This is a blend of tropical fruits, creamy texture from Ylang-Ylang, fascinating white florals and a little hint of Coconut like aroma which is reminiscent of sun screen lotion. It's bright and joyous, somehow magical scent which works best in hot weather. As for the name, there is no detectable oud in the scent, but the same problem exists in other fragrances from Fragrance du Bois where Oud is mentioned in the name. "Jaune intense" is justified, as the yellow flower Ylang-Ylang is clearly represented in the scent with its rich, sweet-sour and banana-like aroma. It beautifully intertwines with sensual non heady Jasmine and sweetish Orange Blossom, both of which remain non animalic. The scent lasts and projects strongly and may be disturbing to those around you, especially indoors. About other tropical white florals: I have had a decant of this one for 3 years now and I still haven't decided whether I need it or not. I've noticed that the longer time goes by, the less interested I am in this scent, although I still like it. In reality, Oud Jaune Intense was a special and unique scent when it was released, even three years ago the market was not full of tropical, creamy, white florals. Yet even today I think it ranks well in comparisons of similar scents, because I often find something unpleasant in scents like this that I just can't stand. Some scents which I could describe as "creamy, tropical, white floral" and which are good, are "Vanille Riviera | Maison Rebatchi" , "Jump Up and Kiss Me Ecstatic | Clive Christian" , "Isola Sol | Roja Parfums" , "Queen of Silk | Creed" , "Amethyst Soul | The Fragrance" and this one, "Oud Jaune Intense (Parfum) | Fragrance Du Bois" each one interesting in its own way. Background: My little note after testing this scent (three years ago): "This I like a lot, really intoxicating and addictive. There is Jasmin, orange blossom and I like them. For summer time definitely! Compare the overall vibe to Ecstatic Clive Christian (but this is better)." At that time I didn't have such a huge number of fragrances and the idea was to only buy 1-2 full bottles per category, so I thought I would choose one of them: Oud Jaune Intense or Jump Up and Kiss Me Ecstatic | Clive Christian, even though the scents are not the same at all and Ecstatic being mainly a Tuberose fragrance. Despite my first impressions I only bought the latter one a few months ago and after hundreds, or rather well over a thousand fragrances, I am convinced that Ecstatic is still a very special and exceptionally beautifully made fragrance. Oud Jaune Intense, on the other hand, doesn't speak to me in the same way anymore and its quality is in no way comparable to that of Ecstatic albeit it has its own advantages. Just thought I’d add my experience. Based on what I’m reading and my sample, I think this is one that varies widely based on skin chemistry. Not a blind buy, and not one to judge by a test strip- too expensive for that. It is essential to try on skin before deciding, not just on paper. For me, I found it lovely and intoxicating- all the notes playing beautifully together with moderate sillage- totally my happy place. Not synthetic, mostly fruity (Ylang), not much oud at all, but just a touch to make it interesting. It is very sweet, which some might not like, but I loved it and thought it worked well in the composition. Truly beautiful. For the first 30 minutes. I actually had it in my online cart ready to order- it was that good. But- It was a skin scent only by the 1 hour mark, and entirely gone by 2-hours on skin. It lasted a little bit longer on my clothes, but was virtually undetectable by hour 3. I asked the people around me to make sure, just in case I had gone nose blind or anosmic to it, and they couldn’t smell it either. It was so lovely while it lasted, but one of the shortest durations of many fragrances I tried. Admittedly, my skin doesn’t hold on to a lot of fragrances, so someone else may have a totally different longevity. If it held on longer or was significantly less costly, I’d find it full bottle worthy. I heard some decants don’t have the same longevity as the full bottle, so maybe that factored here, too... I just hoped for a bit more longevity with an “intense” and pricey fragrance.

Hello Lovelies 👋🏻 If your considering on Buying this I would definitely recommend sampling Bc of the price.. The Opening is a very Fizzy fruity cocktail Soda Very surprising 🥰 The middle is sweet and blends effortlessly with the Ylang-Ylang and pineapple 🍍 which I think is responsible for that enzymatic tangy Fizzy... which blends lightly with the orange blossom .. When going into the dry down you will find sour/ fresh floral, & sweet light liquid sunshine .(-almost like a lightly carmalized pineapple caramel) The total skin dry down (considering I’m very fair skinned hence Acidic skin with higher melanin is more alkaline and slightly oilier and makes sense smell sweeter) The musk softens and smoothed our the vanilla and the woody note gives a very light depth Scent uniqueness-8/10 Silage 2/10 with 1 spray - you would need 4-5 sprays for silage to be a 8/10 Compliments 6.5/10 Compliments when sprayed on clothes 8/10 Customer service 8.5/10 Best wishes and happy perfume hunting xox

I’ve had this for a few years now, and have yet to find another fragrance that smells like this. A tropical white and yellow floral oud with punchy dry citrus notes, grounded in a vanillic base. I purchased this at a significantly discounted price because it is NOT worth $700, even the discounted price was questionable. Despite this, I still love wearing it on beach vacations and during the summertime, especially layered over vanilla oils. 🌺 However, if I were to choose one out of the “Shades Du Bois” collection, it would be Oud Orange Intense. Once I’m done with Oud Jaune, I’m replacing it with Oud Orange since it is more bodacious and opulent by comparison.

Opens up with a strong fruity blast, which is not very impressive. In 10 mins fruits go in to the background and all the white florals take over. Jasmine is obvious, very natural and easily detectable, assuming it is jasmine absolute. Oud is very difficult to detect, there must be only few drops in it. All in all, Oud Jaune Intense is nice fruity floral fragrance with almost no oud. I cannot really understand the price though. Nothing special is going on here, and you will find similar fragrances in other niche houses with much more reasonable prices. No way this is bottle worthy. Scent: 7/10 Performance: 7/10 Versatility: 7/10

Oh shit. I never should have bought a decant. This is good. why hasn’t anyone done tiare THIS good. Why. Why is the $600 bottle the one that did it for me. It has all the balance and elegance that Intense Tiare lacks . Edit: thank god!! this became less enjoyable very quickly. 😅 narrowly escaped that purchase. Something in the base is bugging me. it smells slightly like OFF bug spray. the acidity of the pineapple makes me feel a little sick. The tiare note still is actual perfection , just wish it was a simpler scent over all, but done this well. I really want a nearly soliflore tiare that doesn’t cut my throat with intensity.

this smells like old money I mean I’m not going to lie at first this reminded me of the inside of a car that’s never been cleaned before but luckily that went away and now it reminds me of stepping into a hotel on holiday and somewhere is this really manly man and you can smell him from a mile away and he smells just like this it’s really difficult to describe this one it’s almost a little vintage smelling and I’m not getting any sweetness and this is very masculine to me so I’m honestly very confused by people saying this is sweet I will come back to this one

As you can see by the votes this one is WAY overpriced. It is a nice tropical floral with ylang ylang being most noticeable but there are plenty of other nice ylang ylang fragrances out there for 1/3 of the price. If you want Oud Jaune Intense (OJI) but don't want to pay the price for it try Terracotta by Guerlain it's a bit fresher and more vibrant making it more of a daytime fragrance compared to OJI (which I think is nice for evening wear) but it has a prominent ylang ylang note it in that makes it smell similar to OJI.

I didn't like this at first. The top notes were harsh and screechy and I'm not certain if they needed time after being jostled in travel or if I got better at picking out notes. Now it starts off as lovely tropical flowers and fruit. The middle is the nicest balance of fruit, flower, musk and oud; never going too sweet. The end is all amber with a whisper of vanilla, which is nice, but unremarkable. It's expensive for what it is and while I would try out a dupe I won't be saving up for a bottle.

This was very disappointing to me. It actually smells quite good. A nice sunscreen-like floral scent. However in my opinion this doesn't really distinguish itself from other fragrances in this genre such as Intense Tiare and Aloha Tiare. I was curious about the addition of oud in this fragrance, but sadly I can't smell any. I feel like they just added the tiniest drop of pure oud oil to justify the ridiculously high price for a nice, but unoriginal scent.

Now this is a truly unique and classy scent! I still don't think anyone should purchase this fragrance based on the reviews, I think it rather should be smelled first, so do not blind buy this, get a sample first!:) To me it leans more femenine and a bit more mature as well.

At first the jasmine is very strong, but it settles after 20mins into a fruity, vanilla musk with a woody base. Leans traditionally feminine. One of the better ones of the shades range, along with orange and vert.
