Oud Orange Intense

Based off the other reviews here, this seems to be quite the divisive fragrance. For me, however, it is quite possibly the greatest fragrance I have ever smelt, and I'm so sad because now I'm going to have to get vital organs surgically removed and proceed to sell them on the black market to be able to afford it. That is one thing of note, the price is inflated due to the natural oud, but for how it acts as a background player when you actually pick up the scent of it - it's possible you wouldn't even realize it has oud besides the name - it's pretty hard for me to justify paying so much for it. This is a gourmand. This isn't a primarily oud fragrance nor is it a primarily citrus fragrance. I might be different, but I really don't get those fruity notes at the top. I can best relate it to l'artisan perfumeur's ode al oudh with an added tinge of orange and overall better performance. For those who haven't tried that, imagine the smell of those milk chocolates with tiny dots of orange in it, but add a whiff of oud and vanilla. When I first sprayed this on at Neiman's, it radiated like a monster to the point that my girlfriend and the representative who were each about 5 feet away from me both smelled it off of me in a store where you find hundreds of other strong perfumes, so this has to mean something. Strangely, this isn't particularly strong. It has fantastic performance without ever being too cloying. My girlfirend is incredibly picky with the fragrances she likes on me and I've learned that I can base her classic three reactions to how good the cologne is: "it's okay" means it's bad, "it's pretty good" means it's okay, and "oooohhh that's really good" means it's the greatest essence known to man. It's safe to say this rendered the third option.

Simply a stunning fragrance. I'm a huge fan of coconut and vanilla in fragrances, so I had to pick up a 2 ml sample of this one. The 2 ml sample was 219 NOK (about $25 USD). The 50 ml bottle is 4000 NOK (about $455 USD), so this is ridiculously expensive. No matter how great it smells, I don't feel like I can spend that much on one fragrance, when I could pick up two 50 ml bottles of Fan Your Flames by Nishane—another high-quality coconut fragrance for cold wather—for the same price. Having said that, I enjoy Oud Orange Intense immensely. It's a very pleasant and wearable oud fragrance, with fantastic projection, sillage, and longevity. It's quite sweet, but not sickening to me. On my skin, the coconut is strong in the opening. But the opening is primarily a sweet orange, as the name suggests. As it settles down, I get more sweet fruits and vanilla than coconut, but the fruits and coconut are still present in the background. I would say this leans in a more feminine direction, although I would wear it with gusto. I'm going to save my 2 ml sample vial for special occasions.

I have purchased samples of this from LuckyScent (a registered FdB distributor) for years and adored the creamy, lactonic skin scent that emerges through the day. All of my samples have been sweet from the fruits and vanilla, but never overpowering. I truly found this to be the most gentle, creamy day to day. Saying that, I purchased a full bottle this year from a different distributor of FdB and I received a completely different scent. It is very unisex musky oud with a touch of vanilla. I really like the scent I purchased, as it is a likeable soft oud skin scent. However, my bottle has no note of coconut, nothing fruity at all. I am curious if this the experience of others in current batches. I do enjoy my bottle but I just find it to be a totally different opening and dry down. It is unlike the years of samples that I have purchased prior. The new bottle also seems to have a much longer wear as I can smell it on my clothes a full day after spraying it.

What fascinates me about this perfume is that I’m quite enjoying it today. It’s not even good by Fragrance du bois standards, a brand which I fundamentally don’t like, for various reasons but going back to around 2018 or so (because I haven’t tried recent stuff) their repertoire, while quite reserved in terms of creativity was undeniably good perfumery. The materials, the compositions, just very classy stuff. This isn’t actually immediately true of this perfume it, feels a bit like some crude, sweet, niche tropes knitted together. It’s a fruity ‘orange’ hued vanillic, musky amber, I’ve had it on for hours now and can smell a mild coconut note listed here too. It’s apparent how good this is and does actually remind me of Merveilles Hermes but just not my style because of the extra heft and gourmandness but if this kind of perfume is your thing then you could do much worse.

I haven't worn this fragrance since last winter, and I thought I should make a review. I put it on today thinking it was Brume du Matin and I am happy it wasn't. I know vanillas are all the rage right now, and I'm not sure why this one doesn't get more attention. It's a beautiful, floral vanilla that isn't syrupy sweet and overly gourmandy. I think it's absolutely lovely. Anyone who knows anything about FDB knows that the colors they assign their fragrances have nothing to do with the scent. Rose isn't a rose fragrance, orange isn't an orange fragrance, etc. It's just the way they name their fragrances. I also don't get any powder or barnyardy oud, which makes me love it even more. What's funny is that I never even associated it with Eau des Merveilles, which I also love, but now I get it. I love this fragrance. I'm not sure why it's so controversial.

Orange? Nope. Not even a whisper of it. This scent is all about tropical fruits, luxury vanilla, and a pinch of wood. Sure, the notes might sound a little overdone, but somehow it works — the bright, juicy fruits keep the vanilla in check, stopping it from getting too heavy or sweet. As someone who really dislikes oud—especially agarwood—I assumed this wouldn’t work for me. But to my surprise, the oud here stays in the background, making it surprisingly wearable even for those who usually struggle with the note. If you’ve smelled Tropiques before, imagine dialing down the tropical punch, replacing the sticky caramel with a more elegant vanilla, and adding just a subtle touch of oud. That's the vibe. I absolutely love it. But £549 for 100ml? My heart says yes, my wallet ran away.

Don't let the seemingly simple note breakdown fool you - this is one of the most well blended fragrances I've ever smelt. The fruit notes sweetness melds perfectly with the sweet of the vanilla. The coconut is creamy and does so well with the creaminess of the vanilla. And then there's the warmth - leading into the oud and musk. And what an oud it is - refined and all the skanky edges mellowed out. Well blended also means its quite linear as well - and I'm not complaining about that. In about a half hour it settles down on your skin and just keeps going. It's not super powerful - but it does project moderately. Creates a warm and loving scent bubble around you - this is one to get intimate with. Absolute masterpiece. 10/10

Got a set of samples from Fragrance Du Bois, which includes Oud Orange Intense among others. This one is my favorite so far, sounds definitely more interesting than Santal Complete for me. Very pleasant, warm and comforting, but at the same time expensive and sexy. I can feel citruses and coconut in the beginning, then oud with vanilla and a bit of liquor. I would love to try this on in colder days as well, pretty sure it will perform even better. Price is the only thing which stops me from purchasing the full bottle right now (675 euros for 100 ml incl. delivery). But I am afraid other similar cheaper fragrances would not sound good enough for me after this one :D

NO OUD! Yessss!!! What beautiful interesting fragrance, it reminds me of sugar hard orange candies shaped in orange slices in metal little round box. But a bit coconuty and of course more rich and more pretty as perfume, a little soapy too. This is very crowd pleasing scent, I don’t see anyone not liking it. But also buying it for the price asked. It’s very gorgeous and feminine and I still want a full bottle but not for the price it’s been sold. I’ll be on a look out for dupes or may be used bottle. But honestly I can smell it slowly disappearing like 15 min later. Ok I have to update my review, it just became cloying on my skin. So no go for me.

Intoxicating. Like resting in a grove of trees on the edge of a remote beach with sun-warmed coconut and rich vanilla on the breeze. It’s a luxurious scent that’s lovely on warm nights and mild mornings. The oud is on the mild, sweet side of the spectrum. Projection is moderate and last on the skin for hours. The packaging and presentation is beautiful and the box is lined with plush velvet, all of which I appreciate as part of the experience of having a high-end niche perfume. Maybe not blind-buy safe at the full price point, as it’s a subtle scent, but I was delighted to get it for fair buy and expect to wear it often.

OMG I love it. It's so yummy, so fruity and spicy in a warm, soft but yet strong way. I usually don't feel drawn to unisex scents, often they in my opinion don't sit well on me but this one feels like it's 100% gorgeous and could be equally attractive on a man (if it's not too sweet for a man, must let my fiance try it). I want to taste it. I imagine it would be a wonderful fall scent. The vanilla is gorgeous. For the price it definitely in my opinion needs to be something far beyond the ordinary and this seems to be that to me.

UPDATE: Ended up purchasing a FB this summer and OOI has officially earned a spot in my top 10 for life. I tested this fragrance for almost a year, but once my decant was gone, I knew that I didn't want to be without it ever again. The fruity notes and vanilla are blended so beautifully that it makes me want to cry. The oud is smooth as silk. Sometimes, I just open the top to smell it. I wear at least once a week. Oh, I bought a 100ml bottle. The perfect all seasons fragrance. Well done!

All I have to say is this is perfection in a bottle! It breaks my heart that it’s so expensive :( It’s definitely the most well blended fragrance I have in my collection currently. I don’t really smell orange in the forefront of the fragrance, it just gives me the vibe of when you cut open an orange and the juice spritz lightly into the air. The coconut is not the typical synthetic coconut that’s suntanish. It’s like all the notes are harmonious, it’s literally perfect.

Don't understand how so many people think this leans feminine. This is as unisex as it gets. I wish I could find words to describe this masterpiece. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. There's nothing else out there quite like OOI. Very tropical at first but then it morphs into this oud, amber coconut cocktail from heaven. This is a performance monster that stays with you all day. You get your money's worth with this that's for sure.

Gorgeous and sexy scent. It’s doesn’t last as long as I would like and is very overpriced considering there isn’t really any oud here. I feel like the added a drop of oud and called it an oud fragrance. But overall it a really lovely scent. One of my faves in my collection. I think I’d still buy it again despite the price. It’s very versatile and mass appealing.

Took me a while to obtain it because of the price .. but after saving up to buy a bottle it’s my go to scent .. it’s like a tropical sweet splash ..especially if you know when and where to apply .. it’s a perfect fragrance in my eyes .. long lasting a wows people especially in a close casual environment.. a little goes a long way with this one

If this were less expensive or I were more wealthy I would love a full bottle. This is a beautiful vanilla coconut skin scent with a lovely opening of fruity but soft oud. Update: the more I wore it the more it developed into a sweeter version of my well loved Hermès Elixir Des Merveilles. I caved and bought a full bottle. I have zero regrets.

One of my favourite oud perfumes. It's spicy, slightly sweet and subtle. Kinda like an intoxicating more luxurious fresh laundry sheet. Very unisex, great even out of the winter/colder months because it's not in your face. It's painfully expensive though, hoping to find a good enough replacement.

There is no intensiveness and no orange and no oud. But it’s really amazing and intoxicating. I feel a lightest vanilla and a very gentle coconut oil and tiny amount of musk and powdery. So bright and so airy perfume. It’s a magical thing. Absolutely unisex and for all seasons. Like it.

This is Some good Stuff! Soft, Sweet and Tropical But Cool Nights Lush. Dense, yet subdued. I Smell a Powdery Overtone That Mixes Well With the Vanilla and Oud. A Slightly Gourmond, Fruity, Dressy But Just An All Around Nice Fragrance.

I get the vanilla first then the coconut. Orange? Is there supposed to be a citrus note because I don't smell it. Anyways. This is a fairly pleasant scent from FDB. I like to wear it when I get out the shower.

Delicious,smells to me like Laderach Orange Sticks.Oud is almost non existent but it’s here very teint, chocolatey and mildly tartly sweet. I think it will be gorgeous for warm summer nights.

To my nose, this is essentially JPG Scandal Pour Homme—only richer and made with higher quality ingredients. It’s beautifully sweet, intoxicating, and an easy 10/10.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers in that it opens more masculine and then dries down more feminine. I do love the scent though its quite delicious. You get a very unique awesome orange at the opening with the coconut and vanilla but the dry down is all powdery vanilla for me. No traces of Oud at all though. Also longevity and projection are not what I would expect at this price point. And frankly this is a theme across many frags in their line. I own santal complet which lasts about 40 minutes if that. So far ive tried about 6 of their fragrances and only one (Sahraa oud) has any staying power. For 300-500 for a bottle its really unfortunate for how great many of them smell. Until they can reformulate these to last ill just buy decants.

This smells like Lush to me for some reason.... but in a VERY good way. That oud is grounding this from being random fruity sweet candy and makes it smell like (i'm guessing) the patchouli fruity sweetness of the Lush store. It's definitely a coconut fruity powdered candy that smells like Lush on the initial spray and the coconut fades as it dries down. The oud becomes apparent and almost brings a spice quality to the scent as it develops. As someone who doesn't like heavy musks, the musk is not overbearing in this. This is a good mood perfume I actually really like this. P.S If you want to give Libre Intense a little more personality, OOI works great to layer with that one!

Oud Orange Intense, like everyone says in these comments, does not have even a thought of orange in it. It definitely has a fruity sweetness to it alongside the vanilla, but none of those translate to a citrus, Maybe the coconut is on top of it in a way that's muting it or something, but coconut, vanilla, and fruits other than orange is all I smell. Regardless, I like this scent. It's pretty versatile in where you can wear it. The only reason why I don't love it is because I don't think I would wear this on myself.

I have a sample of this received from LuckyScent. After wearing this twice, opening is the best part like another reviewer said below but it’s gone so quickly; it smells, to my nose, like a citrus spiced coffee with coconut, it has a Mugler man perfumes vibe. Drydown indeed smells la Miami Glow. It’s gone in two hours, not worth the money ( almost $800 for 100 ml?! Whaat?! For this kind of money it should fill a building not a room when I’m wearing it).

Wow. This is sublimely, deliciously beautiful. So cosy and warm. It's definitely a vanilla-centric fragrance and, even though I dislike vanilla-centric fragrances, I L.O.V.E. this one. It's blended to perfection. I sampled Oud Orange Intense because I'm on the hunt for a summer perfume with coconut notes. This isn't it (I can't pick out the coconut note though maybe it's the creaminess?) but I'd love this for Autumn / Winter. Gorgeous fragrance.

The opening of this one is creamy, fruity and very sweet, reminiscent of candy or some sort of car scent. Luckily this calms down in the drydown and a slight woody smell appears in the background. Not sure I would pay the big pricetag for this, but I really enjoy this in the drydown.

There is no orange in the ingredients, but after the dry-down I do detect something orangey. It’s a beautiful perfume, but unfortunately it has very low performance on my skin.

This perfume as well as this perfume house USE to be my favorite. I had Oud Orange Intense, Oud Juane Intense and Oud Rose Intense with Oud Orange being my favorite. It was super long lasting and the silage was amazing. I could smell this perfume days later on my clothes even after washing . Even though the price is very expensive ( more than most niche brands) I was ok with scraping change to pay for those bottles but now heck no!!! They have totally changed there formulas. They smell kinda similar still but my God are they weak!!!! Why did they have to go and ruin such a good thing. SMH. Will not be purchasing from this House ever again. If you are happy with purchasing a very watered down perfume for a very expensive price then by all means but I just can’t justify doing it. There are soooo many wonderful perfume house out there that have awesome fragrances for cheaper and theres performs way better!!! Try the perfume house Initio, Parfums De Marly , BDK, Dior Prive line and MFK as well as Tom Ford Prive and Nishane. Don’t get me wrong FDBs perfumes smell nice especially Oud Orange but man I wish they had never changed the perfum by diluting it . Makes me sad.

Perfectly unisex for those who enjoy heavy fragrances. If you enjoy lighter fragrances, this may come off as semi-masculine, if you enjoy heavier fragrances, this may come off as semi-feminine. Smooth crowd-pleasing oud, toasted coconut and bourbon vanilla. There is an essence of something light about this fragrance... perhaps that is the slight indescribable gummy-fruitiness that it has. Blended to perfection and smooth as a dream. It's not a dark fragrance by any means, but it definitely has weight to it. I could see this being worn all year with only nighttime use in the summer. This fragrance is pretty neutral for me. It's okay and I probably would not necessarily purchase it even if it were affordable, however, it is technically superb and I can appreciate that.

Oud Orange Intense... Coconut? Check✔️ Vanilla? Check✔️ Fruity Fruits? Check✔️ Musks? Check✔️ Unisex? Yes, leaning slightly masculine (on my skin). Longevity? 2-3 hours maximum but no more than that. Projection/Sillage? Poor on both accounts😔 Price? Are you kidding me? $795 for a 100 ml bottle? Is it worth it? Hell to the NO!!! Not for a tropical fruity musky scent that turns skin scent after 3 hours! Oh no!! I will gladly use my 8 ml spray sample and once it’s done, I will definitely NOT purchase a full bottle because Oud Orange Intense is not worth it. It is a very very nice fragrance (skin scent) but I’ll spend my money on something else, thank you very much!

Borderline mediocre, but just falls short of a 3/5, especially if considering the price. ...This stuff smells like fresh plastic, orange peels and sun tan lotion. Oud? Yea sure. Takes about an hour to achieve decency/mediocrity and actually gets better from there. I rarely say this but, FDB, bottle the dry down!

I’m so glad I have a decant only. What in the JLo Miami Glow is happening here? This is very very yummy, but so is Miami Glow for a teeny fraction of the cost of this. Save your money and purchase the MG honestly. They are ~90% similar. Just realized the nose behind both of these fragrances is the same.

To me this smells exactly like a sweet Kvass drink, which I am not a fan of. You might like it if you like that drink! Overall, it’s a beautiful perfume!

The name threw me off - I was looking for a citrus orange smell and for a moment couldn't process what was happening, much like when you drink water out of a Sprite bottle. I should've known better. Orange doesn't refer to the fruit, but the colour. After I found my bearings, I realized the perfume is very much a mellow vanilla scent, warm and inviting. There is a fruity component but the vanilla is worked through and through the scent. I am not so inclined to sweet gourmands, so I don't prefer this. Concerning the oud, I see it on the label but it seems like a mere rumour when it comes to the fragrance. I am curious to know what role oud has to play here. There is a vague memory triggered by this combination of coconutty vanilla. It transports me to a time back when I was a teenager. Curious. I wish I could explore this aspect further... For that reason, it doesn't come off as unique but familiar. I'm more intrigued by the familiarity then I enjoy it. I'm happy with just my sample.

I am chuckling reading that it's made with real OUD. I would hazard that an OUD snout with even the sharpest of truffle sensibilities would snuff no OUD. Intense? Only in its sugary sweetness that I am challenged to let breathe. I keep wanting to run to wash it off but wait hoping it will morph and reveal the real OUD breast I've been promised. The coconut fluff makes this orange too much like candy.

Strangely too sweet but also bitter. To my nose it smells like moldy syrup. I would've guessed it has patchouli but I don't see it listed in the notes. Unfortunately, unpleasant. Review of spray sample that came free with purchase.

This is so masculine and woody. After 10 seconds of spraying there is nothing fruity to be found. This is smoky, woody, slightly sweet in a balsamic way. Those comparing this to symphonium or erba pura? Are you guys ok? Hahahaha

Sadly, this is all powdery coconut on me. Grateful the longevity wasn't crazy 😬

I was expecting more. For me it’s a powdery orange scent and not much else, it kinda reminds me of orange sherbet powder. I get no oud from this, very little vanilla and coconut and not much else. I was hoping the oud would provide some depth and character but it doesn’t. On a more positive note, it does give off the impression of a high quality scent and it is very well blended. Also the presentation even on the little 15ml bottles are amazing.
