Oud Rouge Intense

This is an exemplary fragrance and despite the price tag....I want it. Creed Royal oud...I get that comparison but this is far superior for several reasons not least of which being it actually smells of Oud. Jubilation XXV....??? Uh uh...nope I don't get that from Oud Rouge. A more accurate comparison would be to Versace Oud Noir or Versace Man, or even CdG Wonderoud, because it has this Blackcurrent/liquorice opening which absolutely bangs with pink pepper's sharp sweetness, it's divine, and again although I've compared them, this is superior in every way. When Oud Rouge is settled it totally changes, I mean it could be a different fragrance the cedar, pink pepper and oud loom large with an almost labadnum sharpness too. This is luxurious stuff. I love this fragrance, it's an absolute delight, projecting hard at first but then sitting low on the skin and lasting very well indeed.

I don't get the Jubilation comparison. If Creed Royal Oud was designer, this would be a niche version of it. It is a nicer blend, with slightly nicer longevity, and a nicer price tag. And yes, it contains real sustainable oud. Longevity was good for me, but it only really projects for the first few hours before becoming a skin scent. Longevity is good, which solves the problem that Creed Royal Oud has but at double the price it becomes a very hard sell.

Yeah... it resembles Royal Oud. Just bit more natural, thicker, and deeper. Overall woodier and more complex than the Creed with a touch of Oud that seems to smell a lot like smoked cedar. Wondering if Royal Oud might have smelled like this at some point. Excellent performance.

Absolutely remarkable and one of the best from this house. better version of Creed RO in terms of the depth. Update: very unfortunate that it is officially discontinued.

I tried this expecting a Royal Oud vibe according to the reviews, but came away with a Xerjoff Fars vibe.. maybe it's just me, but it's a beautiful fragrance nontheless.

this one combines well with any lighter fresh colognes. i layer this one underneath eau de cologne du coq and it adds sweetness and depth to the cologne. try it!

Imagine a more natural smelling Royal Oud. That’s what this is. Better quality for sure and it lasts so much longer than current RO.

Was immediately turned off in the opening. As others said, it's harsh and that cedar is overbearing. Pure woods like a lumberyard. After a few minutes the comparisons to Royal Oud is apparent. They do smell similar. Try not to judge this fragrance by the opening. Wait 30 minutes or and hour then it changes. The harsh opening goes away. The sandalwood and oud really shine and becomes slightly creamy. I love the mid and dry down. The scent changes on my skin and becomes very intoxicating. Notice the patchouli as well. The quality is above and beyond. Not sure how I feel about this since the price is extremely high and the opening was such turn off. Need to keep testing but I do like it.

Okay hear me out of this one (this is coming from a female perspective but heck if I buy into wearing anything according to your gender!) ... mix this with Hanae Mori (or ylang in gold or casmir by chopard)... they both share the cedar and sandalwood base notes but how creamy and fruity Hanae Mori is really balances nicely with the peppery/citrus/patchouli making the whole experience a touch deeper and spicier. The oud in the base just hints through giving this such an elevated feel. Ya, hot dang that’s such an amazing mix...

A very dry woods, mainly sandalwood mixed with a good amount of ceder and pink pepper adds a considerable spiciness. All these dry woods are well coupled with earthy patch and some oud. It is intense and in your face in the opening and definately a rouge feel.good blend and seems to be a good performer. Considering the price poin, I am not sure.i consider this as a woody spicy fragrance.beware of number of sprays as this can choke out easily.

Okay, yes it smells a bit like Creed's Royal Oud as someone else has mentioned. But it smells deeper and better. It feels less synthetic and more natural for sure. Oud is not prominent, it's more like a musky, wooden, peppery, patchouli fragrance. Oud may contribute to the depth though and the oud is well balanced and not of the sharp kind. Rather masculine I would say. I like it.

I have to agree with Gabril031982,this smell a lot like Royal Oud with a heavy dose of pink pepper at the top with a more refined oud.Overall smells great and if I didn't have a full bottle of Royal Oud I probably would be after this instead.

I disliked this at first, because it is a very bitter scent. However, if you get more familiar with the scent, you will pick up a very small bit of sweetness in there from the (short-lived) lemon. Despite the name being "Oud Rouge Intense," this more rouge than oud or intense. The oud in here is not very strong. After about 1 hour, it starts entering the drydown, and it becomes more dominated by the cedar where it stays this way for most of the lief of the fragrance. It is only in the drydown can you detect a creamy woodiness from the oud. The oud here is not the medicinal or overly skanky type, but there is a bit of skankiness or tartness to it if you put your nose right up to your skin in the early hours of the fragrance. In the air, it's the bitter woods that will be picked up. I find the bitterness quite akin to the smell you get in your nose when you bite down on a pepper, perhaps more astringent here, especially in the top. As it dries down, the astringency dies down a little. By virtue of being a very woody scent, I think this leans a little formal, but nothing stopping you (other than the price, probably) from wearing this in a casual situation. This has moderate projection on my skin for about 3-4 hours, and a usable longevity of about 10 hours. If you spray in more spots, you should be able to extend the usable longevity by 1-2 more hours; more area, more sillage of course! As a skin scent, this is still faintly detectable more than 24 hours later, but that's really not very important. I got this at a fantastic price and I'm happy with what I got. If you don't get a good deal on this, save your money. There are many other unapologetically woody scents out there.

Dominant opening of black pepper and a squeeze of bitter lemon. Prominent scent of freshly cut cedar, you can kind of find a metallic note that reminds myself of the heat that you get from the friction after sawing a chunk of wood. Not really sure about the oud in this one, I think I can sense it but I'm not sure. Could also be a placebo just because the description says so.

This is ok, I have no objection to it. But for a much more beautiful and interesting oud scent I recommend Bois d'Oud from Perris Monte Carlo. With that one I was COMPELLED to keep smelling myself. With this one I was mostly just coming back to my wrist every few minutes out of curiousity to see if things were getting any better with time. They weren't...

Woody, peppery, leans masculine. Not something I would enjoy wearing myself, and there’s something a bit medicinal in this, that makes it not something I’d like for my boyfriend either.

Noppie, nop, nop, this is not for me. Absolutely not my thing. Strong, abrasive to the nose. Very sharp in the opening. Can't see it on a lady. On gent's it would be rocking some skirts. Lasts for 6h, projects like crazy in the beginning, then dies to more mature spicy, dry scent.

The scent dna is the same as Royal oud. That bitter and musky woody profile. So the opening is pretty much the same. But once it settles down, that's where you'll notice the quality difference between them. The sandalwood in the drydown is gorgeous. More creamy and fuller. Also, the pink pepper here acts differently than Royal Oud. I know scents acts differently on others' skin, but on me the pink pepper in Royal Oud is sharp in the opening, but dissappears quickly and the woody aspect of it turns very bitter. In Oud Rouge it stays through the entire life of the scent. 4 hours in, and the pepper accompany the wood well. Gives the woody accord a more manly and spicier aroma. So the sandalwood and pink pepper here beats Royal Oud by a mile. Overall just a better composition in my opinion. If you have Royal Oud allready, don't bother having both. But if you were to choose one of them, take Oud Rouge as it's smells more natural than Royal Oud in my opinion. And the no brainer in this is, since Creed jacket up their prices again and Royal Oud being 375$ for 50ml, get Oud Rouge for 420$ since the price difference isn't that big. Royal Oud smells almost like a designer version of Oud Rouge.

This is indeed a similar fragrance to Royal Oud although I find this woodier and the authentic oud is more noticeable. As such, I find it dryer and more austere than RO. As others have mentioned, it’s longevity is good but it does sit close to the skin so projection is limited. There’s no doubt that this is superior to RO in terms of quality, with a more natural smell, however, I think I’ll stick to RO as I’ve always had great performance and projection from the two bottles I’ve owned but more importantly for me, I like the muskiness of RO, which this fragrance is missing, making RO softer and not as dark.

Je cuis d’accord avec le commentaire de Sl6an ci dessous Je confirme que oud rouge est une version plus niche et plus luxueuse de Creed Royale oud sent plus profond et meilleur. C'est moins synthétique et plus naturel, c'est sûr. Le oud n'est pas prédominant, c'est plutôt un parfum poivré et woody Le oud ici est en profondeur cependant cepedant il est bien équilibré et pas du genre tranchant. Penche beaucoup au coté masculin 📌📌
