Petales De Cashmere

Petales de Cashmere graces my skin with its warmth and velvety floral romance. After a brief citrus flash of mandarin and grapefruit it melds into the visceral floral flesh of violet. It unfurls into the bright purple star of the fragrance and hovers above the rest of the notes with an aldehydic effervescence. The other splendorous floral notes of jasmine and rose gently come and go in subtle green waves of sweetness with the support of aromatic accents of saffron and caraway seed. Layers of clean musk set on a dry woody base of sandalwood and spiced incense harmonise the luxurious bouquet. It dries down gloriously powdery with a classic creamy soapiness that I adore.

Creamy, powdery, and slightly floral. Very inviting work-safe scent. This is my go to work scent and one of my favorites from FDB. I find this a very unisex scent on my skin.

I'm still mourning the fact that they discontinued this. I have yet to smell a saffron scent quite like it. :-(

Nice but there are several way cheaper scents I enjoy many times more. It's not an on the fence-situation so I don't expect it to change. Opening is soapy. Starts off like a nice natural soap based washing detergent, fresh and bright, citrusy but not too citrusy and floral. Mostly feminine, I imagine an elegant, fresh, happy and confident middle aged to upper middle aged lady in a crisp white shirt. Definitely office friendly, definitely daytime. Bright and happy with a charming hint of bitterness to it. I can't quite place it but I think it reminds me of resin or pinetree, there is something comforting, simple and familiar about it and it gives an earthy edge to the light floral and citrus which could easily go generic. In fact it has grown on me between the first and second try. Still not worth the price to me but I see how it might be the ultimate scent to many. Maybe to me in 10-20 years since that is more in the age range I pictured. As all scents of the house I tried so far it is very well balanced and rounded, that may be what sets apart the more expensive scents from the cheaper ones in my (though limited) experience. It loses the washing detergent/soapy note as it matures on the skin. I like it much better that way, though it simultaneously makes it very soft and quite faint. Hence, I think it's overpriced in the mid stages as well. Drydown the morning after (after applying in the evening): Barely noticeable when smelling directly on the skin. Like your own skin but better kind of scent - nice but barely there at all (in comparison with three other scents of the same house I tried on other parts of the skin on mid day a good 7 hours earlier, this is the faintest spite to having been applied many hours later). Tried it out in the morning as well. The scent was practically all gone by lunch time.

Violets and orange blossoms. This is delicate, yet tenderly sweet. It is soft violets at max with creamy sandalwood, jasmines, and orange blossoms for some twists. It has grapefruit, saffron, and def caraway for some earthy factor so as the musk. It is creamy and rounded, sort of crispy as well, but i think i am sensing some metallic notes as well and i think it's from the olibanum, & grapefruit mix. I can't deny that their line is charming, and presents quite an amazing quality blends. This one is fairly done out of their oud specialist, the violets adds that slightly milky yet creamy note. Edit (20th dec 2017) WOW ... now I remember this juice! When i first sprayed it in jovoy boutique I loved it's top note, it has that light creamy iris blended with violets and sweetened by orange blossoms. The saffron as well is there and so is the sandalwood but all kept in a soft tender frame. The only and MAIN drawback of this fragrance is it's calm down (middle note), it goes quite clean soapy, not fresh but bubbly. This note is already there in top note but the strength of the violets and the soft iris overcame the scene. And since both almost vanished after 5 minutes the soapy bubbly note conquered. Now on the plotter, the violets remained there and so is the iris but on my skin it just didn't stay as much as the plotter. I'm not passing this by for now, as I will sample it few more times and see if it's going to grow on me.

I recieved sample from Niche perfume boutique of two from FDB This one is beautiful, definetely feminin It is mix of very interesting notes, very yummy creamy very soft spicy and powdery I feel there mandarin, peach and little bit wet ash but only very close to skin i think it is caraway Very safe fragrance for gift too

Very nice floral for the warm weather. If this type of frag comes off your skin feminine, then definitely sample first. Comes off my skin unisex and I'm glad that it does. Very enjoyable and uplifting.

It opens with a very gentle, airy, and pleasant violet-rose blend. At first, I thought, “Hmm, this might turn out nicely” but somehow, it managed to evolve into one of the most boring scents in the world. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the cashmere vibe I was hoping for in this one. Just drifting rose petals and candied violets; it didn’t go beyond that for me. In its final phase, it settled into a cheap soapy note (the kind that doesn’t even give a sense of cleanliness) and slowly faded away. Even though I gave it multiple chances, it never impressed me.

The opening is light, refreshing, almost transparent-feeling. There is a slight watery touch to the floral scent which smells similar to water lily/lotus. It then becomes powdery, mixed with a hint of medicine-like/almondy bitterness. The musk in this perfume is strong but not skanky. It is one of the very few strong soapy-floral-musky perfumes that does not give me a headache. Easy to wear, I would enjoy the sample I bought but will not buy a full bottle.

Imagine yourself walking in the middle of a bright purple violet field; the wind blowing in your face; a storm is acoming - renders the earth with a much needed pour. You are then wandering about - feeling one with nature; the scent of the freshly washed ground mixes with the lovely odor of the violets while the wind is carressing your face. @fragrancedubois Petales de Cashmere is an experience that was developed in nature. As the above mental imagine suggests; imagine a gorgeous floral scent with a touch of earthiness and groundedness. Petales de Cashmere is a lovely floral composition; violets, jasmine makes its heart a bright fragrance; but deeper down and in its drydown it reveals its true magic; a gorgeous musky, earthy, sandalwoody base that gives these floral notes a darker base to build upon. For my nose; this is a colder fragrance, it doesn’t have the warmth of amber or vanilla or overwhelming sweetness; it has in the top a drop of grapefruit which gives it a fresh opening and then the florals mixing with the musky earthiness gives it an almost green undertone - all done to perfection with the glowing tamed down sweetness of violets and jasmine. A highly sophisticated fragrance for the lovers of unique floral compositions that are not overly sweet and feminine. Petals of Cashmere - a perfect name that really gives soul to a lovely creation.

This fragrance does not match up with its price at all. In fact I wouldn't pay a quarter of the cost for this. It is so incredibly boring and weak. I got a sample from Jovoy and I sprayed on each wrist and then on my t-shirt and I could not smell it after 5 minutes. I have since sprayed it on a paper blotter and I can smell it again but its just so meh. With all the beautiful fragrances I own and others I still have to test this feels like a waste of a day when I could have worn or tested one of those.

I want to love this. However I get a lot of caraway. It is very nice however not a love for me. I think this leans a bit more masculine. Creamy smooth violet with earthy spice. The opening is very bright with a lot of juicy grapefruit and very nice. I would say its spring and summer and definitely work appropriate. It is very non offensive and light. I will keep sampling and hope it grows on me because I love Santal Complet and would love more fragrances from Fragrance Du Bois.

This is mostly a violet scent on a powdery musk base. I get just a smidge of caraway and orange blossom. I pick up a creamy sandalwood in the base. Feels like a quality composition—at a premium price. A warm weather option with light projection, Petales De Cashmere is pretty but on my skin, easily forgettable. I can imagine this might work wonderfully on the right chemistry so I won’t be giving it the downvote, but it is a hard pass.

Smells like spearmint and peppermint to me
