Voyage à Paris

My 8th from the house, and not one has disappointed, but this one, this one is the most avant-garde from the 8 I own (to me anyway), the notes here do not reflect the fragrance at all in my books, I get a blast of Rum & Saffron, and within seconds the Jasmine joins in, with either it's indolic facet, or an animal one from the Oud, my nose is not that trained enough to tell. The sweetness I get could be the honey, either way, the sweetness is so nice, I was worried about the Honey note as I usually don't like it as it can become too sickly, sweet, and thick. I noticed others have mentioned they were worried about that as well, and it's far from sickly or thick, but it's not airy either, it's just right and balanced extremely well with the other notes. I get a slight feel that I get from Lovers, but it's in no way similar. If I'm honest, I think this one is my favourite from the house, ranked higher than Parisian, Sahraa, Lovers and London Spice, as well as Oud Bleu Intense, it trumps the lot. I'm surprised I've not heard much about this one, and when I tried to look for reviews I found none, but I found this on a good deal, sealed that I could not refuse, and I am so glad I nabbed it. I would gladly pay RRP for this bottle. I blind buy all my frags, I think it's part of the fun of this hobby, and this one I can easily say if you are into frogs like Side Effect and love FdB then this one is a safe blind buy, as it's sits in that area, but obviously much higher quality raw materials, in my own humble nose's experience that is. The fragrance is slightly more complex than the other from this house that I've smelled, I seem to get shafts of the jasmine one minute, honey the next and jasmine another, all with the base of what I feel to be as Safron, Sandalwood, Jasmine and Honey. The notes don’t mention Saffron nor Sandalwood, if they are not, then the accords are made up from other notes in the fragrance, very weird, but a lovely surprise as I bought this thinking "if I don't like it, I'll swallow the loss and dump on fleabay" but this one is not going anywhere except to stay in my collection of keepers :) This is for anyone, I'd say mostly evening, casual or formal, but not office material, but it's more or less versatile, genderless any season except for high heat, but do try if you like this house (or not) it is gorgeous :) God bless and enjoy!

Voyage A Paris opens with an earthy, mineralised gunpowder oud, but 20 minutes later the magic happens. A dry honeycomb toffee amber supports the earthy oud, so you know something sweeter is warming-up. After 1.5 hours, the smoky oud completely vanishes and it becomes the most wearable dry gourmand of gentle warmth. This stage smells like a golden Cadbury’s Crunchie bar minus the chocolate coating but dusted with dry cocoa powder. Voyage A Paris isn’t sweet but warm as it’s a golden/amber coloured dry warm. It’s so soothing and instantly becomes comfortable with your skin. It’s a gentle gourmand, that isn’t so much weak as it’s just behaving and being wearable. I like luxury scents that don’t have to try too hard and this is it. My skin smells like its had a light dusting of cocoa with gentle amber warmth. The honey and rum is just a suggesting of sweetness and this is dry rather than rich and sticky. I’ve noticed that I like sweet fragrances as long as it’s dry, calming, minimalist and lasts, and this is exactly it. The dry-down reminds me of a softer Praline In Maple. The longevity is only about 4 hours, but it’s 4 hours of honeycombed magnificence. Voyage in Paris needs further investigation, but I love it so far.

Yes, I blind bought this...but... This is growing on me... First spritz is VERY much oud-y, in a most pungent manner but that dissipates quickly to leave room for the boozy notes. Then comes the honeyed vanilla note, it is d i v i n e ✨✨✨✨🍯🍯🍯I absolutely love this part! The woods are present and I very much get that in the dry down. The reason why this is a like and not a love yet is because that oud note in the beginning is quite off-putting. We are talking about smelly oud here. You know, as in a hint of 💩 👈🏼 so...yikes....but I think that I will let this stay put and revisit in a couple of weeks to see if it settles a bit. Edit 2/21/2024: Never mind about letting it settle for a while. I tried it again today and oh my goodness, what a beauty this fragrance is!!! Honey, sprinkled with boozy spices, vanilla in the background and florals in the back background...the woods and oud are there but on the very edges. This is delightful ✨✨✨I am in love 🤩😍

This is one of the best from Fragrance du Bois. It’s sexy enough for a night out, yet it could still be a signature scent. I think so many people would find this one appealing. It’s woody, sweet, and a little powdery. The florals are there, but not very prominent It performs well, but definitely not a beast. The price is high, so definitely sample first. Edit: This has quickly become one of my favorite cold weather perfumes. I don’t know that I will wear it much in warm weather. It is an opulent fragrance that is so addictive. It’s the perfect sweet, boozy Oud.

Just incredible. To be candid, first looking at the notes and in the first moments of trying a sample, i thought i knew what this was going to be about and was ready not to be impressed: Boozy vanilla with a light orange blossom of good quality but was expecting it to be banal and among the countless offerings of amber vanilla scents. And then wow! Hours and hours of pure beauty. I sampled it at night and it lasted well into the next morning. Even my wife commented how gorgeous the scent is, while she rarely comments on fragrances. I have now ordered it.

Boozy honeyed rum, tame vanilla, white florals, and oak. Scents in this categories are often too sticky sweet or too artificial for my tastes. This one is not only perfectly balanced but it provides a lot of depth which keeps the wearing experience interesting. Excellent honey note, NOT the powdered variety, vanilla is light, rum is delicious, jasmine floating in the background, and a warm woody oak note in the base. Best FDB I’ve smelled and I’ve tried most. Definitely FBW.

This stuff is magnificent. True unisex, I wear it as a man and have asked many people if it is feminine and they tell me it is not. The vanilla, honey, floral combo is very bright. Not sensual at all but “happy” smelling if that makes sense. Despite being sweet it is not remotely cloying. Performance is very solid. It has jumped to my top 5, and is a treat to wear. Also is great layered with pure Oud oil.

I love this sweet honey marigold scent but not candy-like, with a slightly woody base. The vanilla is just a whiff around and the honey is not syrupy. The oud is just a little hint like the oud in La Capitale. It's a very well-blended sweet fragrance that you are not easy to pick out the single note. The performance is above average, a better one in FDB. Many FDBs doesn't last well on my skin.

i think i'm in love. i was losing hope in my vanilla search after so many lackluster, unrefined powdery messes of fragrances but this is incredible. sweet addictive vanilla drizzled in sticky honey, a slightly woody base bringing incredible depth. i love rum and cognac in perfumes like this when executed well.

I imagine this is how walking by a boulangerie in Paris on a rainy evening would smell like... it's a classy woody honey scent with a gentle animalicness in the background and a similar airy sweetness as MFK gentle fluidity gold (aka my all time favorite fragrance). The only minus with this, is the PRICE.

This is such an amazing honey fragrance. I pick up a little animalistic oud which helps tone down that “syrupy” smell honey has This is what I classify as a masterpiece 🤌🏽

Syrupy, dense, thick. Really nice boozy honey scent with creamy florals. A full bottle has to be secured in the future. Well blended aswell. Thank you

This one is a more interesting scent from this house. I can’t say it’s a love for me at this point, but I have not worn it a lot yet. I can see this being a signature worthy scent because it is not really gourmand and nor is it a floral. Davana is really prominent on top, but jasmine is really present in the dry-down. It is unique and versatile. Have not tested it during spring and summer, but I believe it will work well during any season and in the morning as well as in the afternoon and evening. To me this is feminine, not unisex (my husband said that it smells totally female and would not even try it on himself). A must sample first, not a safe blind buy by any means, but can truly become a one and only signature if you click with it.

This is one of the only vanilla based fragrances I like. Incredible depth & being a du bois the quality is second to none. I love fragrance du bois & this is definitely not my favorite from the house but it's deserving of the hype it gets. If you like vanilla based fragrances DO NOT HESITATE! Longevity and sillage is above average.

A lovely honeyed floral with slight booziness. A warm vanilla & oak infusion floats in the background with a touch of oud adding depth and interest. I sense a slight pattiserie accord & touch of chocolate nuances as well. A chic Parisian cafe. A staple in my collection.

On initial spray, it is a very boozy, spicy rum and honey scent. Definitely more of an evening scent. Turns a bit more powdery but still smells sophisticated. "Classic" and mature, without being stuffy.

I wanted to love Voyage a Paris so bad, so much so, that I even tested it on several occasions to see if it would grow on me. Unfortunately, this is so synthetic that you cannot actually discern what you are smelling outside of a sweet and woody artificial note. Bummer, because the notes read like a dream and FBD has some of the best bottles in the industry.

This fragrance fell extremely flat for me and I was so disappointed because the notes are some of my absolute favorites. This is a Voyage to an old rum stained barrel. The mild honey sweetness is barely there and something in this fragrance has a tobacco-like quality. There are fragrances that do a much better job with this scent profile. If you have it, and must use it, layer it with a milky vanilla or caramel fragrance like Gioiosa or Cream Velvet.

I do have a few "strong like"s from FDB, so based on all the hype, i blindbought this. I would not recommend blindbuying this one in particular as i found it too sweet amd too feminine for my liking. It is not a bad scent, just not my cup of tea. I will stick to my Oud Orange Intense and Amber Intense from FDB, but Voyage a Paris was an immediate no for me. Gave my bottle to a female friend, hoping she will make better use of it 🤣

Mmm...its a no from me. Leather note not listed but its all I can initially smell. Tones down a bit with dry down, to oud, syrupy booze and wood, but very masculine leaning, synthetic and not for me, even on my man. Very pungent. It's also harsh to my nose. Gets a bit smoother as it dries down, but gets to the headache inducing stage and that's too hard to tolerate. Very strong fragrance though.

Oh no, that fragrance is a mess for me. I expected something floral but sweet and soft. Too strong, and it's just full of davana/wood, the sweetness is not really good in this..

To me, this opens up strong with the florals (Orange Blossom and Jasmine) along with a nice hint of sweetness. As it starts to dry down, the notes of honey, vanilla, and that fading booziness start to shine. The Oud is honestly undetectable here. The opening might come off a little more feminine leaning, but I believe it sits perfectly in the unisex range once it dries down a bit. Overall, this is an absolutely delightful and luxurious scent. I cannot say that I’ve smelt anything that resembles it, but if I had to, I’d say that it’s in the same vertical as Unique’e Beverly Hills Exclusive. They definitely don’t smell the same, but I’d categorize them in within the same genre. I’m yet to fully wear this, but from the few sprays I’ve laid on my arm since I got this bottle, it definitely lasts for a good while. Certainly worth a try.. what a beautiful creation!

Lively uplift that Voyage a Paris. I get apple like boozy nonsweet bonbons opening as applied two hefty complete sprays on skin. First time I encounter honey in this way, cold and proeminent. It's a slow sheer brightener and uplift mood enhancer as progresses trough the mid, still don't get nothing sweet. Get a real real fun boost after 45 mins and keeps building up on positivity. As not my general type pretty much at all, so: boozy desert edible like that, but level of quality makes me love it. Not at all a love hate but an undeniable likeness and serious interest piqueness into exploreing more. Up there with PM level of du Bois greatness, if PM wouldn've existed, would've been favourite from the house, type or no type. Very pleased with the purchase, sampled for a good while.

This is a really nice offering from FDB. Sample came in today. Honey, vanilla, some non-descript booziness and in the background some woodiness. I don't get much florals. Maybe a light orange blossom. As it dries down there is a smokey nuance as someone mentioned below. Not necessarily like a cigarette but a clean, subtle smokiness. At this point the smokiness is accompanied by a light chocolate accord. Overall nice, but I must say it has a vibe similar to Grand Soir and I much prefer that.

First impressions. Opens quite sweet for a brief few mins and reminds me of candied banana with rum in the background. That kind of dies down early and the jasmine and florals start to come out. Still get traces of rum. After all that dries down, the vanilla and woods come out. Not super long lasting but I’m sure it’ll get better over time. Not a bad little fragrance and I’m sure I’ll warm to it more as I get a few more wears.

First Impressions: This is my second full wear from my decant and it confirms my original thoughts- I get very little sweetness. On my skin the marigold overpowers the orange blossom while oak and oud dominate the base. This is mostly dry woods with a hint of vanilla. This seems to be perfectly unisex. I find it too masculine for myself, but when I asked my husband if he wanted the decant he said it was too feminine.

This is a rum and honey perfume that somehow manages not to be too boozy or sickly sweet. I personally find Angels’ Share too boozy, harsh and masculine. This is sweeter and more feminine imo but not sickly. It has some lightness to it so that when sprayed lightly is acceptable during the day especially in autumn/winter. It’s very clever and beautiful and comforting. In love.

This is a sexy perfume!! On me it's a little smokey and rum forward. I get some sweet florals and as it dries down the vanilla comes out more. The honey note makes it a little syrupy, but it's not extremely sweet on my skin. I actually really like this, I like it a lot more than Lovers.

I'm not normally sensitive to scents, and I love strong bold fragrances, but this gave me a headache and I had to scrub it off my arm! It's got that cloying, suffocating heaviness of a cigar. Although, perhaps that's somewhat fitting, as Paris does rather reek of cigarette smoke...

Raspberry, pear cognac, almonds, suede and a touch of tonka. This one is hard to decipher but oh so pleasant to wear. A boozy, (definitely not sickly) sweet fragrance. One of the most interesting things released by this house so far.

Fragrance du Bois "Voyage a Paris" is Excellent quality and is a Beautifuly blended mixture of Honey, Spices, Tobacco, Vanilla, and Oud(Woods). The fragrance is Elegant, a bit Powdery, and Modern. Stunning. 9.5/10

According to Fragrantica this is Unisex.. Really?? No Way. It and Elegant, Sophisticated, Deep/Rich, FEMININE fragrance. This is definately for women who are going out to an upscale dinner or event.

Starts strong ambery wood with plastic band-aid notes and some screamy wood in the back. Powdery start ends as band aids and screamwood. Total pass for me. I don't get any of the subtleties.

Reminds me of a slightly tamer and wearable version of Tobacolor. Both are too syrupy and sticky sweet. Not my style but I appreciate the craft. Not to my taste but it’s not terrible 6.5/10

I have just received my sample, on my skin opening is way too smoky (oud probably?) and even after an hour it is still dominantly smoky with a hint of honey and vanilla.

I smelled today and my first impression is “smells like money” i really like it but i dont think it is safe,try it first not everyones cup of tea

It seems impossible to get rid of this f#ckin boozy sweetness bottle, eventually im forced to use it.

Rum, honey, vanilla, oud and oak, smells like there'd be some tobacco but there isn't 8/10
