01 05 Eau Verte

I really enjoy this one. 1-3 I didn't like. 4 was a beautiful magnolia, but the drydown was too rich for me. This one is very nice. Fresh, herbal, green, clean musk, woods, and vetiver are the notes I get. I don't detect the star anise. At the top, I got Clairol Herbal Essence shampoo from ages ago. Anyone remember that? It smelled so good, too bad it sucked the life out of your hair. Anyway, it's just like that to my nose, at the top. The dry down brings out more of the musk and vetiver. It's a super clean smell and has the same vibe as Le Labo Gaiac 10 to me. Clean, fresh, easy to wear. I think it would be great for super hot locations too. IMO, the musk isn't white musk, as that never works on me, I dislike it. It's not a dirty musk. It's just fresh and clean. I think this is one I may consider buying and this line has a great price point.

I can't really perceive the "dangerous, forbidden allure". This scent is lovely but just that, something pleasant (and evanescent - its gone in a flash) for a spring or summer day. For "a dash of madness" try artemisia in the vintage Niki de Saint Phalle where it projects better and lasts much longer.

Ultra-light and transparent, top-note-dominated fragrance- mint is also apparent; it quickly becomes a clean, white-musk skin-scent with traces of green freshness. Really, this is not my thing, but I can see some people liking it.

Slightly vegetal, slightly crisp and green, this one plays a series of grass notes against some minty and sage-colored herbals for a fairly realistic and bright stem effect that goes a bit “teal." Although not to my taste, this is the standout so far, and it keeps on the right side of the “chemically abrasive” fence (although it wears its synthetic nature on its sleeve). As the grass notes burn off, the herbal aspects take over, and what remains is something along the lines of a minty sage with a soft, peppery effect. Probably the most non-traditional of the bunch thus far (it as by Antoine Lie, after all), but still well within the realms of safety. The bad news is that the lifespan is pitiful, but that’s a given with grassy scents such as this.
