Ace

this is a signature for me during the winter :) the margiela is in my price range but i dont think the price tag was justified for the poor performance i got on my skin, so i picked this up instead after hearing it was the most accurate clone. in terms of accuracy, this gets extremely close to the real thing; id say its 95% of the way there, its only ever so slightly less smoky. you get the spicy smoky burning wood in the opening with the light and fluffy vanilla, then it dries down to a chestnutty woody scent, not much vanilla. for me the smoky spicy marshmallow smell faded away quite quickly which upsets me because its my favourite part of the fragrance but the drydown still isn't bad at all, just a bit uninteresting. now i will say that performance is better than the margiela, but still not very good. ive only had this about a month or two and i do definitely think its getting better but for me ive personally had to wait 6-8+ months for these clone fragrances to reach their full potential. by around hour 5-6 its a skin scent and it stays on skin for another 2-3 hours before its completely gone, and this is with me layering it with iso e super in an attempt to boost the performance. i really do love how this smells but i was expecting better performance, im hoping it gets alot better in the coming months as i have to spray this more than 8 times just to get some sort of good performance, but i do expect this to get better overtime. performance aside, this smells amazing and is extremely close to the original with similar, if not slightly better performance so i dont see a reason to get the original over this :)

A great alternative to "Maison Margiela's: By the Fireplace" The smokiness in this is toned down and not as strong compared to BTF, and is replaced with a sweeter smelling scent rather than that smokiness. It is still there, just less. The first spray smells like the remanence of marshmallows that fell into the fire after you've tried to roast them, but you went just a little overboard. After about 15-30 minutes, it projects as almost a spicy fragrance. Sometimes it has almost a BO smell, however I found that only once and it did go away after about 15 minutes. The scent profile is beautiful, many people love this, both boys and girls, as a matter of fact many of them wanted to try it on themselves. I wear this as a daily and whenever I want, it is a sweet, vanilla, inoffensive smell that many people enjoy. The complement factor is high on this one, and the longevity is a solid 6-8 hours, with it projecting for about 1.5m for about the first hour, and then the rest of the day still leaving a good bubble around you. I would say this is about 80-85% similar to BTF, and for the price (I picked mine up for 30 CAD), It is an AMAZING deal! The bottle is decent, I like the design and the box even comes with a deck of cards, however my ONLY COMPLAINT is that the atomizer is ATROCIOUS. Like it's really bad, like it just kinda pisses out of the bottle. Overall: Scent: 8.4/10 Longevity: 7.2/10 Price: 10/10 Would definitely pick up

I love this fragrance on me and I'm a female. I can smell the smokiness of woods, chestnut, fresh juniper, and marshmallow in the fragrance. It's as it describes its duping "By The Fireplace" by Replica Maison Margiela. This is perfectly unisex but it does leans a bit masculine ladies. So, if you are a lady who only enjoys sweet, fruity, gourmand fragrances......then please bypass this one. It has a smoky incense vibe that is very prominent once you spray it on your skin, then it turns into a sweet ginger, warm marshmallow. It almost as if you are sitting outside at night with your friends and love ones in the middle of fall where the air is cool and crisp and you all are wearing sweaters/hoodies outside having fun and sharing conversations while sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows on a stick and having Graham Crackers and a chocolate bar to make gooey smores. Ace by Fragrance World is better suited for the fall and winter seasons. Also, if you have Kismet Angel or Angel Shares by Killian they are in that same DNA range with "Ace" and they are great to be layered together. I should know, because I layered my Kismet Angel and Ace together and it blew me away. I also have a small vile of Angel Share by Killian that I had a small amount left from Sephora and layered that with Ace too. I was met with the same results :). Get your hands on Ace by Fragrance World when you have a chance ladies and gentlemen.

Another winner from Fragrance World if you want By the Fireplace for WAY less this is going to be for you as the notes are literally identical and honestly from what I have heard from reviewers this lasts maybe a little longer then the actual real thing (I don't have By the Fireplace but based off of the note breakdown from both this is literally the same fragrance.) Some people have also said this is sweeter and I couldn't say if it is or not but at least from my bottle the sweetness and smoke are literally perfect but I would say it's a little bit more sweeter then smokey which is honestly a plus in my opinion and it honestly smells like you are roasting marshmallows over a campfire. If you want a intimate mainly winter but fall works too scent that lasts for a pretty decently long time and smells absolutely incredible this is 100% for you and you will NOT be disappointed (it WILL get even more close to the real thing the longer you have it.) Overall my honest rating is a solid 9.5/10 if you love By the Fireplace save your money and get this you won't regret it.

Its good stuff. It comes with a deck of cards too. It smells so good. It has two spices that compliment the chestnut and marshmallow scent. The Pink pepper lingers throughout the day with vanilla undertones with a hint of cloves. I think the spice makes it much better than the scent offered by Lattafa. The longevity is around 5 hours ,afterwards it becomes a skin scent. I'm not a seasonal fragrance wearer , but it worked well in summer. Id rate it 9/10 for the scent but will bring it to a 10/10 for the cool deck of cards that comes with it. The bottle is pretty cool too. I will buy this again once it runs out.

Ace of Spades: The BTFP Clone That Performs If you love the scent of MM's By the Fireplace, this is a must-buy. Ace of Spades absolutely nails that cozy, woody, chestnut-and-vanilla DNA. It’s warm, inviting, and smells exactly like toasted marshmallows next to a crackling fire. It leans a little sweeter and less smoky in the opening than the original but is generally considered more potent. Performance is solid, giving 6+ hours with a beautiful, warm sillage. The value is unbeatable. A perfect unisex scent for fall and winter. 10/10 clone.

ACE has been my most worn vanilla within the last 2 months & I'm really pleased with this composition! On my skin I get a balmy feel vanilla with juniper, which adds a nice naturesque feel + the woody and smokey facets makes it a great staple fragrance for winter! I hated this when I first got it. It was a weird sticky sweet minimally smoky blend that did not smell good at all. I let it macerate for 4 months and now it smells very identical to “By the Fireplace”. Not a fan of cloves, but it’s not too overpowering in this and the sweetness has toned down quite a bit since I first got it. Rating: 9/10 Buying a second bottle for sure!

For those who say this is not as smoky as BTFP, let it mature a few months. At first I got a lot of vanilla and almost nothing else. After 6 months it’s much nicer, complex and balanced. The spicy smokiness is right up front, and the sweeter base eventually starts to take a more important role as the drydown unfolds. It’s really really good.

Between By the Fireplace clones I've tried so far, this is the closest. Smokey but sweet. Really sweet. The only thing let down is performance, average at best. But the original is also the same. Worth a try if you're into BTF DNA but don't like its price tag.

This is flat-out one of the most addictive perfumes I've ever had. It is so good for the price. Paulina reckons it to be better than the original and I'm not arguing. Stunner for cold weather - don't wait, get it!

sweet, warm, smoky, this stuff is really close to By The Fireplace, last 8+ hours on my skin, great sillage, and i got a lot of compliment on my first day wearing this fragrances absolute bangers!

Opening is synthetic and weak but as soon as it dries down its just by the fireplace.

This was one of the first fragrances I tried when I first started my journey of building my personal perfume collection, and it hasn't really stood the test of time. It reminds me of eating smores next to a wood burning fire in the comfort of my home, perhaps my bedroom. It's sweet and comforting with an element of smokiness. It's a little intoxicating! I think everyone will love the scent of this perfume. It also performs relatively well for the cheap price tag. After saying so many positive things, my only issue is that the only place I'd ideally like to wear this is post-shower before my bedtime. And unfortunately, I'm not really in the place where I'm wanting to buy a fragrance just to go to bed in... yet!

S'mores? It really smells a lot like s'mores or some kind of winter spice sweets by the fire side. It smells sweeter than I expected. I was worried it was going to be very smoke-y and clove-y but it is much more like s'mores than anything dark and smokey. --- Some time has passed. I still like this fragrance, however now that I have spent some more time with this type of fragrance I realize this may have a little bit of a cardboard smell. I notice this cardboard smell in fragrances of various price points. It's still a very s'mores type smell, but it seems less sweet to me now that some time has passed. I am not ready to declutter this cause I love the bottle, but we shall see if it falls out of favor.

I had been looking for the best clone of btfp and this is easily the most accurate I've smelled, I compared ameer al oud intense to ace and for me ace takes the cake. If you are deciding whether to pick ace or ameer I would pick ace. The downside to this perfume is that it lacks performance, the smell and projection would be dead in 2 hours (4 hours in clothes.) But the smell is lovely and accurate to the main fragrance it's copying.

It's a great clone of By the Fireplace. If you buy this expect By the Fireplace but a toned-down version. I will also add that this is a little less smokey which makes way for a little more sweetness and balsamic smell but the difference is minuscule. Just as the original is, roasting marshmallows on a campfire. I purchased this fragrance for around $25 so it is exceptional for the price and easily replaces by the Fireplace.

Smoky, woody, sweet also a little bit balsamic, yes this is i can tell. This is mostly man perfume but i'm okay if the lady wore this. Very warm aromatic, density and the sweetness for me it just right. It's so pleasing and hugable, performance moderate to strong. Never smell the og, but when i'm satisfied with the clone, i don't cares about the og. Overall rating 8.5/10 ✨

I mostly get smooth, rich and liquor-y vanilla with spicy, peppery nuances from this one. Surprisingly, little to no woodiness. Still very pretty and fun, though. Will go hard in autumn. Seems quite weak, but I guess I'll just overspray if the parameters don't improve over time. The included card deck is a nice touch. Very cute.

Got a comment saying this is my sexiest fragrance, but Im not sure If i agree. I just get chestnut and a headache haha

I bought it because I have Jack . Which is supposed to be the best electric blue And king a cheap niche green fruity fragrance. And I like smelling like a camp fire and it is only $22.00 so heck yea I bought this. I kept the box and put them on the book shelf. Now it spells J A K. And I put the Xerjoff box after that it’s spells Jak xerjofff. 🤔 And it’s one of those scents where people blame the fragrance for not being able to keep track of the performance. you think it’s wore off but then you get wiff. People say they still smell it good when you are thinking that you should re apply it again. So are all of you guys sure this stuff is weak ?😂 It’s not a nuclear beast. But it does have more longevity than most are realizing. Well, you’re probably better off making a camp fire if you want it to last. Get some real smoke.. But To me , It smells like some sweet vanilla goodness with just a little smoke. Sure it does not seem to last long at all. But it’s actually lasting longer than you believe. I’ve witnessed this a couple of times already. But If that’s not the type of performance That you enjoy , then You’re better off going with the other smoky scents Like Raghba wood intense. Unless you’re just getting this to complete the deck of cards like I did. Which is weird. I love doing weird shit for some reason. But For $22 it’s a damn steal IMHO.

Has nobody noticed that Ace, by the fireplace and contralto have the same exact notes? To me, contralto is reminiscent of bal d’afrique. It has a kind of fresh, soapy, scent which I love. I bought Ace hoping it would smell more like contralto. Right now, I’m only getting the vanilla. I’ll test it again in a few days. I’ve been smelling perfumes all day and I might be nose blind right now. So far, the projection is not stellar. It just smells faint. I’m hoping I’ll get something better in the second sniff test.

The fragrance is very weak, almost like an edt. Not something I expect to be fixed over time. It smells nice and similar to fireplace, but if you are wanting a good clone, I'd pass. Ameer Al Oud Intense Oud is too strong, and this is too weak and a slight mossy note. I'm thinking there is no real sub for the original especially if you want the marshmallow of the original.

As some of the other reviewers mentioned, it's not an exact copy of By the Fireplace. Ace is sweeter (probably a tad too sweet for my liking) and I don't get much smokiness from it. What lets it down even more is longevity - only lasts 1-2 hour tops and it barely projects. That hasn't improved after 3 months of maceration. Won't be repurchasing.

It doesn't radiate past intimate like some other dupes do. Melting Embers by Oakcha is stronger. I LOVE this fragrance for fall and winter. I won't repurchase because it has a very light sillage. But it's a nice dupe. Just not strong enough.

On a paper test, the first thing I get is a woodiness, or the chestnuts. It's a little sweet, a little smoky. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. A little nervous for the skin test. Will report back.

From a Decant: Quality scent imo. Haven't tried by the fireplace yet. This is one of the first scents I've tried where I felt like the opening was weaker and the scent got stronger as it dried. It's woody with a vanilla/ bit powdery undertone. I think when people talk about it smelling of marshmallows its mostly the vanilla. The "fire" part isn't super accurate to me, it's maybe a slightly nutty wood scent to me, but there's nothing especially smoky to me. All that said, really liking the scent. I feel like I wish it had been marshmallow at the bottom rather than vanilla though.

Purchased ACE in the fall of 2024 and this was just ok. The fragrance was harsh. Fall of 2025 ACE has become a banger. WOW this fragrance has matured like fine wine. I know it's a cheapie, but wow ! totally impressed with how this aged. Maceration does work, and this one doesn't miss. I'm not saying it needs to sit for a year. That was just me putting it on the shelf last fall and kinda forgetting about it. Only reason I picked it up this fall 2025 was because someone asked if I would sell it to them. That is what made me pick it up and re-visit it. Now I regret selling it.

This smells exactly like the original but with amped up pink pepper. Other than that, it’s identical. Really beautiful and comes with a deck of cards so that’s a plus. It’s pretty weak... the exact same longevity and projection as the original so just overspray and reapply and you have yourself a 10/10 winter frag.

Very woody at the opening (reminding of those asian bamboo toothpicks) and as it dries downs the woody fades and the vanilla start to jump in
