Alpha

Opens with a warm, slightly smokey, slightly peppery, resin. An amber note is holding things together in the background. The floral notes add to this fragrance's complexity, as it gives off the slightest hint of sweetness. Not a sweet fragrance by any measure, it's a smokey, woody, dark, yet inviting fragrance. A bonus, I get a warm radiating ember vibe from this fragrance. As the fragrance dries down, it is less smokey and peppery, and more dark woody. This fragrance is pretty complex, and it continues to develop as it dries down. Niche quality territory. As for comparison to TF Ébène Fumé, Alpha has a more palatable profile that makes it more crowd pleasing and wearable. I would say they are 90% similar, but Alpha will definitely scratch the Ébène Fumé itch. The longevity is a solid 6 to 7 hours on skin, but projection is decent at best. TF takes the performance crown in that measure. Having said that, the Ébène Fumé goes for 130 to 150 USD for a 30ml bottle (at discounters), yet Alpha in comparison can be found between 30 to 50 USD for 100ml. So you can apply and reapply as needed without putting a significant dent in the bottle. Also the wolf bottle is a way cooler presentation imo. If you like dark, resinous, woody scents, this is a must try! Fragrance World is really killing it in the dupe game, I must say!

@sbel. You're right about this photo being a Tiger head rather than wolf head. Good pick up. Fragrance World have been hit or miss for me, but this one hit it right about of the park. This was great performance right from the first spray - no maturing was necessary - and the scent doesn't smell synthetic at all, unlike some of their other clones. The bottle is incredible for this price point - it feels well made, heavy and the whole presentation is first class. This fragrance might actually help the sales of ebene fume because it's high quality and reasonably priced and so more people will try the ebene fume DNA. This is an A+ clone. It does NOT smell like Stash though. Stash is woody, but milkier, not sharp and I can't understand why so many people compare it to Stash.

Comparative to the fragrance it is inspired by, Ebene Fume, this is incredibly close considering the price differences between the two. The dry down is very similar, the difference between Alpha and Ebene Fumes lies with the longevity. Alpha lasts between 4-6 hours on average in my experience, and Ebene Fume lasts 8+ Ultimately for the price and the quality of the fragrance it’s a fantastic purchase if you love the earthy woody spicy scents.

Incredible quality and performance for the price. I actually like this better than the TF. Cannot believe how inexpensive this was. If you've ever tested or worn the original, then you already know what this smells like. Great pickup.

#1634 in my "Tour de Fragrance” Blind bought this knowing it was a Tom Ford "Ebene Fume" clone. I also have Fragrance World’s "Ebony Fume" and Maison Alhambra "Incense Ebony." What can I say? I love Palo Santo scents. Why Fragrance World cloned Ebene Fume twice is a puzzle, but I’ve found they actually re-release dupes under a new name regularly. However there is a difference. “Alpha”, “Ebony Fume” and “Incense Ebony” all match up well as skin scents, but none of the clones quite match the silage of the original Tom Ford, even though the original isn’t particularly impressive. This “Alpha” scent in particular is a skin scent pretty quickly, though it lasts long on the skin. The projection is about six inches in minutes. So this is more date wear for your intimates. Someone past arm’s length probably won’t notice it. Car pool, elevator, small office safe because the silage is not strong. Cool weather wear more than summer. Masculine, not unisex. Price is okay, but I think the silage of the Maison Alhambra is a bit better and it's $10 cheaper. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I bought Alpha at the recommendation of other reviews that this was a good dupe of Tom Ford Ébène Fumé and I have to agree. The scent profile is pretty spot on. Alpha lacks some of the nuance and evolution of Ébène Fumé and doesn't last as long, but at a fraction of the price I'm not expecting it to. For $40 (incl. tax and shipping) I don't mind spraying on a little extra or reapplying. The bottle is also beautiful; it feels well-made and has a pleasant weight to it that I wasn't expecting. The packaging also provided more of a luxe experience than a lot of my bottles that cost hundreds of dollars. I wish niche and luxury fragrance houses made interesting bottles like this, as opposed to the more sleek, minimalistic look they typically go for. Ultimately, I'm still going to buy a full bottle of Ébène Fumé, but with Alpha in my collection I don't feel the need to run out and buy it this instant.

Just got it today, so I will update. First impressions. First spray,...UGHHH dry hay, total Billie Eilish 2. I have that, but after getting the dry hay note too much, it was downgraded in my collection. I would sell it, but it would cost over $25 to ship anywhere & it isn't expensive. 2nd spray, a few hours later, about the same. 3rd spray after smelling wrist for ANYTHING other than dried Hay for 5 hours, There it is! Now it has the bit of sweetness the leather, the incense I wanted,..SHOWED UP!! be back to update in a few weeks. LOVE the bottle & the box! I am curious tho..many are mentioning this as Fragrance World's TF Ebene Fume's dupe. But they made Ebony Fume as the dupe for that. So, was that just an epic fail, so they made this?

Worth the money! Sillage and longevity is questionable imo, but i love this frag! UPD: maturation didn't change it that much. The projection is very low sam as sillage, but longevity is good right now. Speaking of frag it self, i like this profile. Smell's like inside orthodox church a bit

The best thing about this one is the presentation. I have to respectfully disagree with the other glowing reviews here. Yes, you do get an idea of what Ebene Fume would be like, to my nose it's like the 480p version of the 4k realism and definition that Ebene Fume provides. Put another way, this one lacks the unique edge that makes EF special to me. To best describe that, in my head I think of crackling embers, the bright smell from fresh smoke, comforting resins all swirling together. FA starts with just the deep drydown, almost a watered down version. If you've never smelled either, imagine almost a incense combined with camp fire smoke and resin. I give this a 3/5 in all departments - longevity, performance, profile. This scent profile is for cold weather only IMO. If you're on a tight budget and want to test this scent profile out you can be like me and give this one a shot!

This is seriously called “Alpha”? The only alpha this smell reminds me of is Ben Azoulay, and that guy is full of shit. Or some random dude with a lion and clock tattoo on his arm.. This “Alpha” opens with the smell of warm fresh sawdust.. backed by labdanum, cade oil, and papyrus. I get little to no guaiac wood unfortunately. This smells clean. Safe. Extremely safe. It is one dimension, linear, flat, and predictable. That's about it.

It opens with a burst of pepper and dark smoky woods with a somewhat musty indolic edge. The palo santo is really quite prominent in this Really gives it that smoky dry and coniferous note As the middle notes start to come in I get a creamy maple syrup kinda vibe it must be the labdanum. The leather and cade oil create a very animalic smoky note along with the papyrus The rose is there but not quite noticeable but it's well blended that's for sure. As it settles in The base notes come in capturing the essence of weathered wood the ebony almost gives it an inky oud like touch and guiac wood gives it a dry and creamy fresh woody touch I do get a pine resin note in the dry down wich is rather pleasant because I love resinous fragrances Now compared to the og ébene fùme it's almosr spot on its just something about the quality it doesn't have that freshly sawed warm pine note that the og has but it's really close and a steal for 40 bucks imo definitely get this if your a fan of the og and can't afford the price tag.

The difference in quality between them is like the difference between the sky and the earth. Ebony Smoke has a better and stronger scent, but it is unwearable due to poor quality. It feels suffocating. This one has much better quality, but the scent is less beautiful and less detailed. It reminds me of Billie Eilish 2.

Tom Ford Ébène Fumé rivals Etat Libre D’Orange Rien Intense Incense for my all-time #1. They’re reminiscent of one another to me; Ébène Fumé being the undeniably easier wear. If Ébène Fumé is a love for you, but the pretty penny sent you straight down the dupe rabbit hole - do not hesitate: the IDENTICAL scent is Fragrance World’s Alpha. Gorgeous right out of the box. Just as sumptuous, comforting, well-blended, smokey, incensey, warm, slightly sweet and spicy, meditative, and moody as the OG. No maceration required - but I can’t wait to see what that might do.

I finally got this and would say that it deserves its high rating.* I've smelled Tom Ford Ebene Fume, and this definitely scratches that itch. Most clones (if that's what this is) tend to be weak in the opening, as well as in the nose-on-skin test, but not this one. It's a beauty right from the top. I have never tried FW Ebony Fume, but I have tried Tom Ford Ebene Fume, and this is extremely similar. I just got my bottle today, fully oxidized. Dry, woody, smokey incense. Heavy cedar over smoldering palo santo. I get some similarities to Bois Pacifique and Gucci Pour Homme, but this is much smokier and deeper than both, but certainly not as nuanced and smooth as Bois Pacifique. I will update once I have more time with it.

Guys stop confusing these Apex is the tiger Alpha is the wolf I have apex and it is a sweet tobacco fragrance similar to red tobacco in a way but definitely not 1:1 Haven't tried this alpha one yet
