An Evening Twilight

I own A Gloaming Night by Gucci, and I bought this so I wouldn't run out of the other. I think this get rather close for a fraction of the price, and as a deal minded individual I love it. I would have never purchased the other one for myself, the Gucci was a gift by my sister. I actually really like the Gucci and this fragrance, but my wife is the main reason I wear it. She absolutely loves both of these fragrances, and isn't really able to pick between them. They do have some differences, I find this one is a little more rose heavy compared the the Gucci. I know that's not a listed note, but I'll describe the way it smells to me. It's like a wet rose petal. If you've ever trimmed a rose bush after it rained, there's this ozonic wet rose smell they have. A bit of dirt in there. That's what this smells like to me. My wife isn't as much of a nerd as I am about these things, but she says it has this very smooth, very dark quality that she really likes. I think this is really worth a buy if you like toned down florals. This isn't a headache inducing floral by any means. It shares a lot with Encre Noire, another favorite of mine. The vetiver they use is very similar, and that wet vibe is there. The cinnamon note is more pronounced in the original, but I find it's still present in this one. It's not very loud. This is also what I hoped Toy Boy would smell like. This is a well done earthy floral for sure. If this was a song it would be Don't Fear the Reaper by the Blue Oyster cult. It has the same dreary, etherial, but positive charm. I really like this fragrance, but do be warned I could be swayed due to my soulmate loving this. Do take that into consideration. I promise she's not forcing me to write this though if that's any consolation, she doesn't even know nerds like us review fragrances online.

Lovely fragrance, voted a "like", though it comes across as if the ingredients were blended in rosewater, with a tea-like note during the first half hour. The longevity on my skin is rather weak, though it performs better on fabric: still, not particularly long-lasting. I will let it mature, hopefully the performance will improve.

Update: thought It needed maceration or was a style of perfume but now that I've smelt more perfumes this one is so weird because it is screechy and harsh like it isnt meant to be a perfume or it wasnt finished. It smells too alcohol fluid-like with mixed in fragrance chemicals. The Myth from Maison Alhambra has the same issue. It smells so cheap I will probably be decluttering it now that I've curated my collection better. This one is weird, unique for sure, I am not sure if I love it or just find it ok yet. The notes on this do not seem right even though the Gucci one this is duping has the same listed. I went into this completely blind and thought this was a rose scent when i first sprayed it and so did my partner but dirty/dusty/musty dried roses, rather than fresh cut roses or a rose garden. After a few hours of wearing it is am finally now starting to notice other notes but I suppose I dont have enough knowledge on notes to be able to tell what they are in this mix. This is supposed to be inspired by the sky during dusk but this smells more like a vases of roses in an abandoned house but a clean abandoned house where the furniture is covered in sheets but dust has settled on everything thick.

this is nice and reminds me of magi noire but a little sweeter.
